I enjoy watching Bill Anderson's videos. My style of woodworking. I call him the "whatnot" guy.

I have acquired a Stanley No. 71. Only the casting, it did not come with hardware. I had a friend turn the knobs for me so I’m on my way to restoration. I believe Stanley imported the threaded hardware from England for the planes they made here. I’m stumped, as well as 3 hardware stores, as to the threads on the threaded post and the threaded holes for the screws to secure the knobs. Do you know what the thread size is for the post and the holes to secure the knobs? I have the equipment and know how to fabricate all the hardware but before I go further I want to make sure I can get the threaded parts. Thank you.

Have you found out? I’m facing the exact same problem.

6:40 the early Stanley 71 was designed almost identical to the later 71 1/2 with the closed throat. It's interesting that they took the 71 and modified it but then had the 71 1/2 look like the early 71. Why not call the open throated version the 71 1/2 instead? Anyhow

The old models didn,t come with those fences. They are from a newer model with grooves milled in the bottom.

Worry, worry, what should you choose. I can relate to your problem. I have dozens of beautiful woman to choose from, and I don't know what to do. The blond with ten million bucks, or the red head with ten million bucks. Life is so hard.
