Really good stuff. The point about throwing at fish busting on bait is a good one that most people don’t get. Those fish have already found food, its the ones still looking that are likely to strike a lure.
Very well done video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together and for sharing the tips. It's good living through other's youtube videos when I am stuck in the Raleigh area. Keep it up!

@@Bobbystairfishing thanks. I'm eye balling anywhere from Wrightsville Beach up to Atlantic Beach. If you were going to pick one Beach town in that area where would you choose?
Do you have any tips on conditions like wind speed and direction etc these fish look like loads of fun to catch in NC but there are no other videos that I can find about surf fishing for them.
Of course. A north wind is best because it flattens out the surf and pushes the bait out of the creeks and sounds. calmer clearer water from 64-72 degrees are prime. best thing to do is walk the beach in the early hours during an incoming tide and you'll eventually run into blitzing fish.
@@Bobbystairfishing Thanks so much man hopefully I can find some next time I go i do have one more question are the fish oily because I'm also looking to target some sharks and was wondering if they were any good or to stick to the normal mullet and bluefish
Nice video. Do you ever fish at Topsail Beach North Carolina? I'm heading there Saturday for a week. Hope to catch something. I'm just starting to get into throwing spoons and jigs from the surf, it looks fun. I usually just chunk a bottom rig out with bait. Haha Nice video and I hope to see more in the near future.
@@clintondewitt286 Thanks! Happy holidays and a Merry Christmas to you. I have completely edited a shark fishing tutorial, redfish vid, shad and striped bass on the Neuse vid, and a bunch others.. just waiting to bombard youtube when viewership goes up around the first week of March.
Is that the Star stellar lite fast taper? I'm literally ordering 1 tonight. And was a lil worried about how it will hold up to Albies. Now I dont gotta worry lol
I'm just curious, about how far are you casting? I'd like to get one with a fly rod, but I'm not going to be able to cast as far as you. Do you ever catch them in the 30 yd range?
@@Bobbystairfishing Is there a tide time that presents the best chance of seeing them. I was there Sunday and cast for 7 hours hoping to see some but didn't see anything. I did notice at at high tide is where I saw a lot of the bait fish near the shore. I am completely new to ocean fushing so I don't even know what the baitfish were. They were finger-size and up so I'm guessing finger mullets? Two weeks ago(first time coastal fishing), I was at the jetty and saw a baitball there the whole time. I was told they were glass minnows(tiny and maybe 2.5" long). On Sunday an elderly fisherman told me my best chances would be left of the green buoy or drum towards the soud side. Watching your video, it finally dawned on me that you were fishing there. Is that where you think I should be to have the best chance? I don't mind casting there till I turn blue if that's what it takes. And don't mind chasing them. I also bring along a small binocular to help me scout. Can you shed some light as to location(best for fly rod), and retrieve speed. Does it have to be blazingly fast? I retrieve using a double hand retrieve but all day Sunday, I only saw lady fish chasig my flies. My cousin who surf fishes said my retrieve was too slow and that's why they didn't take my flies. I threw the book at them. Albie whores, surf candies, clousers, deceivers, eels, and a host of others. Not a single strike. Any advice to this noob on a quest to land an Albie on a fly rod from the surf. The elderly gentleman told me that where you were fishing there is a deep drop in the channel and that would be good place for Albies. Can you shed some light on this. I will likely try again this weekend of I can. Again, as far as the tide goes, is there a window I need to shoot for? Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Gulp_Man102 Right on, this rod has been very impressive. Strong enough to for big reds and Albies but I also use it for finesse fishing largemouth because it's super sensitive. Good buy and I appreciate the sub thanks for the support!
