Eternity: Memory of Lightwaves - Final Fantasy X-2 (solo piano arrangement 2019 version)

- I'm on vacation with family for the summer so I'm sorry I've been slow about responding to comments since these uploads are all scheduled but I'm trying to get around to all of them!
I appreciate you guys so much, thank you for checking out my vids and for your patience!
So I've had tons of people comment on my old video of this from a few years back that the recording quality was quite terrible (no love for the iPad guys? LMAOOOO) so I was like OK OK time to revisit!!! I didn't mind really, tbh I actually LOVE X-2 a lot as a game--yes more than FFX, it was so quirky and girly and I liked all the dressphere jobs and how you could cancel attacks in combat, and I love the OST! The menu theme is one of my favorite FF themes ever so I was pretty stoked to rework it a bit and re-record it!
About the arrangement, it's mostly based on this version from this book: www.amazon.com/Piano-ALBUM-Fa..., I just added a bunch of stuff here and there and in the middle as I always do lol, which made some beginning bits and end bits kinda tricky with the fingering and pedaling since I had to take the main motive in my left hand hahaha but i'm mostly pleased with how it turned out, at the very least better than iPad recording lol.
Also, my new thing is making album covers of the cosplays of my beautiful friends with their and the photographers' permissions, so enjoy a gorgeous photo of Aurum Cosplay's Songstress Yuna at the end of the vid! I replayed Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door recently, and it took wayyy longer than it should have, because EVERYTIME that I booted the game, I listenend to the intro song from start to finish >

Memory of Lightwaves has always been one of the pieces I keep coming back to, between playing the piano collections or my own arrangements, so it has a sentimental value to me.
Your arrangement really captures the feeling of the piece well and, I must say that, your rendition sparked a feeling of nostalgia inside me: I was truly moved!

I loved X-2 and played it obsessively back when it first came out in early 2000 and it evokes that nostalgia for me from that time in my life as well, so it was always in my mind to go back and do a better job of it now that I have better recording equipment. This is one of those songs that when it comes around after not hearing it for a long while, I get time traveled in my imagination back to where I was when I first played this game and enjoyed this song. Nostalgia level is super high!!!

I somehow never played Final Fantasy X-2 despite getting all the ultimate weapons in Final Fantasy X (Kimahri's lighting evasion one was interesting) but I did enjoy this song from that soundtrack. Thanks for your rendition!
This is really beautiful. Eternity is probably my favorite theme of all of the FF games. I could put this on a loop all day and never get tired of it. I can play the collections one, but could never get the back and forth left hand jumps in this one right.

I subscribed because of your original version of this - I had really wanted to learn the song and I thought your version was the best when I looked on youtube. I learned it from your video and some sketchy musescore transcription despite it being way above my skill level at the time. And now, years later, I still play it for fun all the time. X2 was possibly the single most important game of my childhood. I remember I kept restarting it because I didn't want to finish and for it to be over XD so much nostalgia..

I admire you so much and I'm going to take this as an example to sit down again before my keyboard and replay this song that used to be my exam on my old music school.
And, yeah, this game was sorta girly; prolly, because many girls wanted that Tidus & Yuna couple to be together for real. As a man, I enjoyed that a lot and made me wish that to happen. So, it's cool to know there's person who likes to give us some good music through her piano.

That album is dope I had it preordered and rushed to me from jp when it released , x2 is underrated and a game and as an ost its o e of the most u ique w its jpop, rock , jazz and new age feel.

And YES X-2 is so underrated!!!!! And that OST is SO eclectic just blew my mind when i first played the game. FF can get dreary and I loved how this one was so lighthearted and quirky, and the OST really served to highlight that vibe.

Always loved this theme, one of the best ones in FF history :) It's such an emotional song! I liked FFX-2 a lot as well. Its story wasn't anything special, but the job system and battle system were really fun.

This is nice. I bought this game for my brother back when it was new without knowing that it would come off like a J-pop dream, lol. It can almost come across as pervy to someone not familiar with Japanese sensibilities but, then again, I try to sing along to An Angel's Paints from the Macross OST in the shower haha.
