In real life automatic transmissions use a number of variables when deciding to change gears, rpm being one of them. So you have a one gear slush box in beam lol

I think you needed to add more gear ratios to fix the top speed issue. The top speed per gear is very low because of the very low RPM. And since you have mega torque you can make the gearing longer (spacing) without sacrificing to much acceleration.
A smaller turbo (smaller compressor and smaller turbine) is more efficient at low RPM. Same thing with the AR ratio. So by lowering those, you can change where the peak boost is.

IRL long stroke gives the engine a mechanical advantage but alot of extra weight and stresses on the large end of the rod. I believe high piston speed relative to rpm which can cause premature wear issues. Thus lower rpm limit to make it not fly apart. If i remember correctly. Prolly not though.

The mod for the modular VFR did exist. I used the mod and reexported a vehicle using the body just a week before the mod mysteriously vanished from the workshop with zero explanation. Sad too, I can no longer make my 21l v16 nightmare work.
I'm not an engineer but wouldn't a smaller turbo be better. You could get 1500 Nm of torque at ~1300 rpm and 1000 Nm all around the rev-range and no-one's ever going to redline that car anyway so it's unnecessary to have massive torque at high revs and no torque where it's actually needed. And yes yes yes it's just a game and he's allowed to make any kind of engines he wants BUT if he took a look at actual real turbo engine torque curves he would see that they make max torque at low revs (1500-3000 rpm max) and by replicating that his own creations would be much better. It's really not that hard to make a good torque curve even in Automation

Top speed is defined on a force at speed (hp) graph as a point where it converges with drag, so discounting automation devs putting a final gear limiter, the humvee mod lives up to its horrible aerodynamics
0.7 bar = 10psi, plenty of boost to actually make a difference. Also boost isnt everything, think of this. 10psi with small turbo or 10psi with big turbo, air volume/density is another thing.
You need grip with torque or youll just burnout. Its why trucks are good at pulling things vs super cars... well that and gearing. The weight is great for grip

I’ve noticed that almost every Automation + BeamNG youtuber can’t build a good turbocharged engine. All of them has a horrible powerband and/or INSANE turbo lag XD
Should have increased the bore and used heavy duty components to limit it. I also think he could have gotten much more power by adjusting the turbo settings to get the turbos to actually spool

I think I have quite a good tune for gearbox logic. Applied to my 10 speed box

You really need to learn how turbos work
Always start with max AR and min turbine
Otherwise all your engines will keep peaking for the last 1rpm
