this is the part two many asked for and is about how I fight back for my passion and win at the end- th-cam.com/video/x3AVTZj9Lq0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=j4O_H_MMele4-lPC
I am 75 years-old and I have been sim racing since 1989 with Indianapolis 500 the simulation. I have always had top shelf gear starting with ECCI and Leo Bodner systems. I have spent my retirement building a new rig and racing. I always liked playing sports when I was younger. Now, being an old geezer, I still get to compete even though my physical abilities are quite geriatric at this point. I am losing the use of my legs at this point, and I need to find a way to brake and accelerate using hand controls before I can not race at all. The hobby is fun, and I don't care how much people laugh at me when I get into my rig.
Good for you mate, love your enthusiasm and attitude. Regards legs, some steering wheels left you msp the clutch paddles to throttle & brake so long may you play!
I would be proud if I manage myself to keep that passion as you did for so long time 😃 You have made some choices in life which keep you have for very long time and you must be proud! Hope to be just like you
Where there's a wil there's a way never give up on what you love,I was diagnosed with lower bowel cancer 4 months ago had major surgery 4 weeks ago, one of the things helping me through this impossibly difficult time is the thought of getting back into my rig and racing again..
Despite being just 26 years old, two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 bile duct cancer. In those 2 years, I have sadly went through some of the worst experiences I could have ever imagined - from a massive surgery with nasty post-op complications, having an emergency drainage of the abdominal reservoir twice without anesthesia and being septic multiple times to severe depression, suicidal thoughts and chronic pain that would never go away even with the strongest painkillers I could have gotten prescribed by the doctor. There was a point in my life when I was just wishing for this disease to finally take me away and end my suffering. There was, however, one thing that I've always loved doing that kept my thoughts away from my disease, and that was sim racing. This was truly the only activity during my day that I could just completely sink into and forget about my problems and pain for a moment. It kept me motivated to practice every single day to see how good of a driver I could become. With this new passion that I have found and completely dedicated myself to, I was able to get through my depression and improve my physical health as well. It gave me the will to fight my cancer because it's simply too fun and fulfilling. As weird as it sounds, I really think that me dying would be a shame because I would no longer be able to do my sim racing. I would have never tried so hard to take care of my health if I hadn't had a passion like that. As my cancer situation gets more manageable day by day and my health is slowly improving, I can confidently say that sim racing literally saved my life, and I am unimaginably thankful to every single one of you I have ever shared a virtual race track with.
This is a post everyone must read! It is hard to comprehend the hard times you are going trough but our limits are sometimes well beyond we think! You are going through something which have opened your perspective of life and when you get better and I believe you will as you believe in that and fight for it, you will experience better and way more meaningful life them most of us can imagine! Keep fighting brother 🤗
That's an incredible story and I'm very happy to hear you are recovering. While I cannot compare my experiences to yours, I am in the process of leaving my job to focus on doing the things that actually make me happy - game design and 3D work. I can no longer justify spending the second half of my life doing something that I no longer care about and rediscovering my passion has reinvigorated me in so many ways. Keep racing man
I'm convinced that passion is something that comes and goes, you won't always be in love with it every day. Especially if it's tied to a goal you have, it's something you have to build on. Try a lot of things and whatever you're curious about, keep working on it and just see where it takes you.
Call it how you want but its just a search for something to have fun until you kick the bucket. Some people become billionaire some get into hardcore helicopter piloting and some just enjoy games and its all cool
none of my friends are sim racers and they dont understand why i spend all that money on my motion rig , wheels , pedals , triple screen ... but thats ok they dont have to understand for me to have a passion for sim racing . i will be 60 years old this year and this " hobby " as been a life saver through hard times . as always a great video donne whit heart !
So beautifully said man! People don’t need to understand neither we have to explain ourselves but is just wish everyone had some kind of passion as we have with our hobby! As you’ve said, that’s the best friend in darkest moments and we are so lucky to have it 💪
I turned 30 this year, I still dont have my driving licence cause I travel a lot and dont see the use of it as I'm always somewhere else and dont have time to dedicate to doing it. For 3 years now I built myself a sim rig with Wheel, Pedals, Shifter, Handbrake, VR headset and HOTAS for flight sim. My friends said it was stupid cause its not real life skills and I better spend that money in a driving licence if I so like to drive... Last month, I went to do Karting with them, it was my first time doing Karting but they all did before, as I'm the only one who doesnt have driving licence, they all made fun as "You'll see, it's not like your games, that's real racing haha"... Results... I've made the 5th best time of the week, beat all of them from far, finished 1st in front of a guy who already had more than 200 hours of karting. I always was on the podium, while they were left behind, the best one of my mates managed to do was 47 seconds, while I did 45 on the 2nd race. Since then, they all started to ask me about what's the best ways to start the hobby... I think people dont understand how real the feeling can be, I only have a G29 of logitech, but the stress, the braking zones, the understanding of the car, the trajectories... all this is real life skills you learn from it and the adrenaline you have on tight races makes it immersive as hell. People dont understand until they do, now they understand the hobby and how serious it can be haha
I’m 59 and totally agree and it is my passion too. I have bought a go-kart as well to race but age is catching up with me. I built my own PC to race on ACC.
You are the only sim racer TH-camr that talks about the greater meaning behind our passions and the importance of letting it grow and develop. It is a gift to find something that drives you in life even if others can’t understand it. I don’t get much time in my sims but love it and each moment is precious.
It is such a beautiful drive to have in life, isn’t it 💪 Good management is also of racing time is important too as if I over do it is start loosing the meaning which again is dopamine related problem! The main and important part is we are lucky to to have the bug 😁 Thanks for the kind words and best wishes for the rest of the weekend 🍻
You diagnosed yourself with depression, realized it, found the reason why, studied how to fix, and fixed it. And all that within a relatively small time-span. Kudos my man. Great job! Some people need years to do that. I know that feeling too well as well, and currently fighting against it too. :-/
I must do video as I have done that study for 5 years now and have lots of information to point for guys who will need it 100% at some point in their life 🤛
"We don't spend money for gear, we invest in our happiness" really stood out to me when you said it. What a great quote man. It is always heartwarming to see the passion with which you do these videos. Keep on enjoying and happy racing
I am 41 years old and I have experienced some of the same things as you. I had two big breakups and what helped me get back on my feet was my passion for motorsport and motorcycle as well as sim racing!! It's a passion that many in my entourage don't understand but it doesn't matter, you have to live and do the things you love, next month I'll finally be able to race in real life after 25 years of waiting to be able to do it, big up to you, your channel is top 👍
We are lucky to have the passion as our best friend who take care of us in those dark moments 💪 So happy for you and for the realization of your dream ! You will experience something very unique in the real race car! All the adrenaline and stress will slow down the clock and you will hardly remember next day the entire experience! It will be powerful moment
I’m 64 years old and was a beta tester for Grand Prix Legends, I love sim racing and still feel joy whenever I drive sims, I can’t afford expensive gear but I’m having a great time. God Bless you mate
I still fire up Grand Prix legends sometimes, I was heavely into online championhips for a few years, and it will always be the king of groundbreaking sim racing for me.
Love this guy !! A lot of those guys who make fun of us " dumb video game freaks " are the same guys who spend tons of money on fishing , golf , hunting etc and they call it a hobby but they don't realize sim racing is not a game to us , it's a serious hobby which requires skill and intelligence to win. So keep on wheelin'' boys , we're havin fun and ain't breakin no laws 😉
Some simulation video games are exceedingly accurate in scale. Gran Turismo was used by an F1 driver to familiarise himself with the tracks as each track is perfectly scaled, which includes gradients. It is a testament towards the effectiveness of technology and the accuracy of the simulations when sportsmen are using simulations to aid their game.
Thank you for your inspiring videos. I’m 57 and I’ve spent a small fortune on my rig and gaming room. Sometimes I look at it and think, what have you done! But it’s the room that relaxes me and keeps me sane when all around is falling apart. All the best you 🙌🏼
Man, I think it's the same for everyone who loves sim racing. Everyone always laughs at me when I tell them about my sim rig and how cool it is to be able to jump into amazing cars that we otherwise would never get the chance to probably even see in person, never mind race around a track or rally stage! The responses are always the same. "You could have gotten a nice 'real' car for the money you spent on your 'game for kids'".....They will never understand the joy and rush you can get from upgrading a part of your rig to make it that much more immersive or driving flat out down a fast forest rally stage and making it to the finish line in 1 piece! You can't put a price on passion and the joy you get from this hobby in my opinion. Keep on racing my friend, as will the rest of us sim lovers. Great video as always. Always so passionate and uplifting 🙂👊
Man, I just wish everyone out there had the chance in life to feel like us, passionate for something to the bone! Other people laugh but is actually really sad they can’t experience the feeling we get and that is sad!
People saying this sentence, and I heard it a lot, have no idea what racing really costs. To buy a car for the track is the smallest amount of money. Running costs, licenses, accidents, insurance for race cars etc is the real expensive thing about racing. Great that you can enjoy your passion to the fullest.
Yesterday I drove a V8 supercar from Australia on the Nords. I t showed my wife a replay (she knows nothing about cars but has been on a lap of the real Nords with me using a rent4ring car IRL, so she knows how special it is). she says "maybe you can do it for real one day". As you can imagine, I laughed and told her, it would be impossible as getting an Australian race car shipped to the Nords would have a few challenges 😅😅 Being able to race or lap ANY car around ANY track is the reason I have a Sim rig. Keep racing Gentlemen!
Just want to say thanks for… “this.” For how thoughtful, empathic and authentic you are coming across in this video. Started sim racing about a year ago. Been through loved ones losses, a break up and some health issues lately, and can definitely relate to pretty much everything you say about your passion. Thanks, and a ton of respect, for putting out such unusual content.
Hello, I've been in a wheelchair for 10 years and can't move my legs, so I use the clutch pedals on the steering wheel to control the gas and brake. I have fallen in love with sim racing for 2 years and have now built my first large setup. The people I drive with and get to know are always thrilled when they see that I drive with the clutch pedals and still achieve good times. I often have ups and downs when driving because it just doesn't work out the way I want, but I keep at it. I think it's because I don't do anything other than be at home, I should actually do more sports outside and meet people, but depression doesn't make it easy for me. God bless you and your families. See you on the track PS: my racing name is Frederic Fürst
The passion this guy has for racing and simracing is immeasurable. Love you Chepi :) Keep doing what you do best, sharing all this love for the sport with other people.
SIm Racing has been a part of my life for 35 years and the past 10 years I have discovered that it is a part of me maintaining good mental health. I probably don't have 35 more years to enjoy my passion and hobby, but I'll give it every year I can. Race on and be healthy.
That exactly 💪 Because I want to have if for as long as I can I start caring more and more about how to remain healthy and motivated 🤗 It is for sure my deep reason 😁 Hugs and care
hey man, just stumbled up on your channel and I love this video! I am so glad you have found your passion and do what makes you happy. Sometimes you tend to forget how easy it is to be happy. I think the key point here really is to do things because you want to do them and not because of others! You are an inspiration my guy. keep doing what you are doing, remember you are loved and needed in this world!
Thank you for the Video, I know alot of time goes into making them. You’re absolutely the best sim racing channel out there. I appreciate the positive attitude and the passion for sim as well as the amazing reviews. Thanks again for always being honest. Keep chasing your dream. Have a great day. Cheers.
As someone in their 20s entering the simracing world is pretty challenging since the obligations keep piling up and I find hardly any support from the people closest to me. Everybody expects me to finish my studies next year and then start a family. However, having a simracing setup has always been a childhood dream of mine and I am adament on making that dream a reality before setteling down. Your talk about passion for racing and creativity in rig building have helped me transform my way of thinking about this whole thing. And rightly said "We don't spent money for gear, we invest in out happiness". Thank you Steliyan
Keeping yourself motivated is the key for life success and expectations from others is something you have to avoid at all costs ! You are the driver of your own life and you must find what keeps you driven to woke out of bed every morning and take the next challenge!
I really respect you for telling us this story about you and your Depression and Sacrifice in life and how you were able to turn things around. I Wish and Hope to do the same in my life I have spent a small fortune on sim racing myself just to achieve mediocre results. Thank You and keep inspiring people looking forward to future content.
I had many struggles in life and I appreciate every single one of those hard moments later as I realized those were the ones which teach me how to fight for my happiness and understand myself better ! Personal growth always comes through struggle and happiness is only inner perspective state of mind! Those are the best lessons I learned in my life time 😃
Chepi... you are a true legend not just because of sim racing, but also how you have turned your life around; in terms of your body and mind. You also dont give yourself enough credit! Yes you are not a pro sim racer, but everyone who knows you also knows that you SHOULD have been and you could have been! We go back a long way, and you are also a very good teacher and have always remained humble. I love your content, keep it coming bro ;-)
Hey Ches love you brother and I miss to old long night with endless deep conversations 🤗 Hope you are doing well my friend 💪 Live is tough but give us great lessons if we want to learn from the difficult moments and m sure you found the way out from your difficult times! Hugs man for you and your sweet girls ❤️
Been watching your videos since starting my sim racing journey. Your enthusiasm and passion has inspired me to continue my sim racing journey and expand my rig to where I’m at now. Love getting in the rig and getting away from the work, stress, and everyday obstacles. Always puts a smile on face. Keep up the good work bud. Love your videos and what you’ve given back to the community.
It is awesome to see someone sharing their passion for something like this man does. Felt every word this man said in this video. Awesome "extra" outside sim racing content. You deserve all the love you get
One of your best videos, brother! 🙏 (edit: and I wrote the first sentence before reaching the end of the video!!)I always felt like a winner when I learned something from watching one of your videos. Spending time with you in person just approved that. Damn, you are an outstanding, inspiring person to me! 🙏 and OH MY… I have goose bumps right now.… I’m grateful I was mentioned. Damn… 🤗 see how the universe works?! Much love brother!! You are a win win win for all of us watching your videos!! 💪🤗
@@chepilevski it’s more to me, much more, than just winning a price. It’s approval that my thinking and how I (we) see the universe is working is valid. 🙏 I’m thankful and humble and having tears in my eyes. Again, not about winning a price but getting approval that life does not work in mysterious ways but in foreseeable ones. Life is just great. 🙏
Sim racing made me more interested in irl racing also and resulted in me following all kinds of racing series like wec / imsa / gtworld / indycar / f1 etc etc, also made me visit Spa and Nurburgring few times a year, that was a bit off topic of me but great video
Passion is the driving force that keeps us all moving forward. I'm 47 now, my passion has always been motorcycles. I don't see my bikes as metal and rubber, they are living breathing members of my family. Some I have great memories on, some not so good. They all have touched my life and taken me places in the world, and in my mind I never would have accessed without them. Sim racing is my #2, it began when I discovered the original rFactor in 2005. The ISI motor is one of sim racings greatest achievements.
Hi from Spain! I discovered this channel like 3-4 months ago... I'll buy a DD wheel and a setup for SimRacing (probably simagic but if I can, i wanna go for simucube) after a lot of years with a driving force GT on PS3. Your video-reviews are so good and helpful, I like the way you explain and send feelings. It's different in comparison other channels. This video is so emotional and I love that u said "we don't spend money for gear, we invest in our happiness". That's a big true. Nice video and thanks for your honesty. Peace and keep going!
Hugs brother and thank you for the kind words and support 🤗 I’m sure you will pick up the right choice for your hobby 💪 Best wishes for the rest of the weekend 😃
I am happy to see how you are growing on the channel and to know a little more about you, simracing has taken me away from drugs, bars and bad people and I have a very special relationship with this passion, it has saved my life
@@chepilevski I have been in this world for 9 years, and 5 years ago I started uploading videos on TH-cam and doing live shows on Twitch and the truth is that thanks to the people I have met along this path, it has been fundamental in keeping this passion going forward, loving this hobby makes us strong towards our real problems! thank you for your videos and your passion
You are a true inspiration to the sim racing community! I started over the pandemic and your channel was really what got me into purchasing components for a full rig. I love to see how the channel continues to grow and touch other people around the globe. Thank you!
I absolutely love your content and your outlook and opinions on so many topics, when ever I watch a video I'm not only watching one of the nicest sim rigs out there but my day is genuinely made better by the knowledge you put out there. thank you for the content.
I am 18 years old I have been working for a long time now to get a new seat for racing and I have now just been able to get it and I am starting to get a better feeling. I enjoy your content and have been watching your videos now for a while and I can just see the passion you have and I want to feel just like you do you have tips on how to get those feelings and how to enjoy the simracing even more? Your the best! Love from Kevin B
I really enjoyed the journey of becoming a faster driver. Although as I gained iRating and got stuck at 1 to 2 seconds off the pace, I found that I had to practice really hard before I dared to participate in a race, and the fact that many drivers can drive really fast with only a few laps practicing. With fewer races per week, I lost a lot of the motivation I got from competing. I realized that I need to sense my progress - even though it's a small tiny change/improvement - and take care of my mental health. Thank you for making this video, now I can still dare to dream about the day I become a real life racer.
You know man, you were the one who motivated me to do everything to get into my passion of simracing (and later flightsims). Seeing you simple and honest working guy doing such an amazing things with your home hobby gave me tons of motivation and make me believe in myself too. And I am really thankful to you for this, it is the best gift I could ever receive.
That was a nice video man, in 3 days I will start my Sim Racing journey. I bought the most common steering wheel and pedals and will buy asset to corsa to start and learn the basics and when I’ll be ready I’ll go into iRacing. Your story reminded me that during the little time I spent on this earth I found my true passion which is racing and will do anything to be able to fulfill my happiness and goal about this passion. ❤
As always mate! A wonderful video full of sense! It's not what you get at the end of the day that count, it's the journey behind it and the way we all overcome obstacle and hard times! Keep on going!
Since I discovered you, I was captivated by your videos and your perspective on simracing. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to always improve and analyze our passion from many points of view, beyond just racing to win.
It was channels like yours that introduced me to this amazing hobby and inspired me to do the same. I'm happy now to have also found my passion, something that I look forward to doing after work and spending my free time on. It has been life-changing for me. Keep doing what you're doing and sharing your passion with everyone!
Thank you for sharing your story! I just found your channel while researching and deciding what wheel setup I should start with. I find myself working through the most difficult health and life circumstances. I am an overcomer too and I have been looking for ways to reignite my life and stay excited while being very limited with what I can do physically. There's a lot I cannot do, so i'm trying to focus on what I can do. Flight and racing sims are 2 things I can do! I think it's cool how we don't have to know one another, yet we both understand what is really important in life. Cheers from a fellow life, car and racing enthusiast from Colorado! Have a great day man!
You are a motivation sir. Whenever i'm in doubt about continuing my SimRacing jurney i just rewind some of your videos, and im right back at the wheel. Keep it up, we got your back.
I'm nearly 60 and was a late starter. I did not try my first sim (GP Legends) till I was around 33. I did not even own a computer till I was 32! I have raced regularly ever since and apart from a bit over a year on iRacing I have done it all offline. I'm no slower than I was when I was in my 30s but my results these days are better thanks only to better equipment. I might not qualify any faster than I used to but my race pace is better - again really only thanks to the improvements in equipment which let me feel and see better. I am perhaps more of a flight sim nut and I hope to be doing both well into my 80s. Though I am a realist and I realise a time will come when I probably can't drive a sim car fast enough to get the thrill that I do now. but who knows. My generation will be the first who could use these things in young adulthood and it may prove to be the very thing that preserves mind and body far beyond what older generations thought possible.
There is so much information how to preserve ourselves those days and keep it strong for long time! Activity is one of the keys too and I hope we will keep strong for long time💪 It is not only about being the fastest but about challenging ourselves and they to take the best from us 💪 Let’s see how we will evolve 😃
I'm so glad you've opened up about a strong topic as such. I'm in the same state of mind, where I've been trapped for a long time after some events that really changed me. I used to be quick as hell sometime ago and really felt one with the sim. Now feels like I'm just slowly deteriorating my passion and do not feel comfortable with myself, my pace, my ambition to push even further, and to be creative/curious to find further limits, and to push even more. That's how I was making a difference back then. All the best to you and thanks for the great video.
Hugs brother 🤗 I do it in circles last few years driving competitively for 3 months and then doing other stuff again sim related which keeps the balance for me 😃
Wow man... This one hit home. A lot of us can confidently say we would not be here if it wasn't for simracing. It is incredible how sometimes we shelter ourselves in the virtual world to hide from the real one. Thank god we are lucky enough to have lived through this period of life, otherwise i wouldn't have made it. Funny enough, i remember the dopamine shots i got from my G27, T300, mi first cockpit, my first races... After a decade i need to spend 10k to feel something even close. Dopamine, Serotonin, Cortisol, that stuff can really fuck up your life, i'm still on my way to recover, but knowing i'm not the only one makes the journey a little bit less painful. Glad you found your way man, you can be as close as you want in your videos, don't be afraid, i came here for your setup but stood because of you, and i don't think i'm alone here.
Very well said Billy 💪 Those first experiences are very hard to recreate and needs so much understanding and work to keep the balance 🙈 Ones those molecules goes all over the place is total mess 😁 Good we have so many great people like Andrew Huberman who are willing to gives us all the help we need for free💪 It’s all in our hands really! I strongly believe that brother 💪
There’s a thin line between passion and addiction as both provide dopamine spikes. I’ve been in and out of sim racing for the last two years but recently have been getting more seat time. It is such an amazing hobby
That is absolutely correct but I think Simracing is on the safe side as is hard and mostly connected with losses then wins and is not about quick cheap and easy dopamine spike as the work behind is hard 🙈 We mostly get addicted to quick and cheap dopamine stimulants and siming is hard 💪 Happy rest of the weekend
You really have spent way to much on sim racing my brother, both financially and time, but........ But. We only get one lap around this simulated play called life, so why not give it all you have trying to enjoy it. Life itself is a simulation my friend, it costs us all in the end, so why not sqeeze every little bit of happiness out of it, while you can. Keep it up brother and keep them wheels rolling. 👍🏁❤️
I’m 42 years old and have had a lot of dark times of late. Aim racing always serves as an escape and time for me to reset and forget about things getting me down. Love your content, love your passion. As an owner of that wheel - I’m sure the winner will love it. Thank you for your videos mate.
I literally played at least 10 hours per night/morning for 7 years.... 6-8 hours per evening/ morning for the next 3 years ... sluffed off a bit after that... hungaroring 1:01:828..nurbergring 1:06:461,,, got 17 world record laps penalty free laps ,,, no regrets, i can fly now
Thank you for making this video, definitely came from the heart and something a lot of us can probably relate to. I had a hole in my heart when my dog passed and didn't really have anything else, so leant into it.. I hope you have many more healthy years racing, unhappy people will always try and drag others having fun down to their level. Keep ignoring the hate, I love your videos because it showcases the amount of immersion you can get with DIY setups. The amount of work you've put in alone is ridiculously impressive, a true engineer
The cars may be fake, but the racing is real. I started on a Fanatec speedster 2 back in 2001 playing Grand turismo, now on a semi decent direct drive rig with VR and sometimes forget I'm in a fake car. Like you had some real a life experience and feel picking the sim up again has not only made me a safer, more precise driver but given me something to carry with me for life. Can tell you're a humble normal guy mate. Your videos and comment sections help a lot of us realize that the world isn't always nasty, when people have a passion it doesn't matter how good or bad you are or how big or small your setup is we all have the same passion.
Hey brother, I firmly believe the world is not nasty place at all just the we give more attention to the nasty things which is just our surviving instincts! World have never been better but life needs some guidance for fulfilling existence 💪 Hug brother
I'm 51 years now and after 8 years of sim-racing I got back into my old hobby, that was once meant to be a profession: making music. So I'm quite convinced to this date I will sell all my sim-racing stuff and buy new expensive instruments instead making no money🤗
I love music and I have enormous respect for your work guys! Music is something that touches me the most and we need you! Spend as much as you can for your creativity and give us those beautiful feelings through your work 🤗
haha.. It's kind of invert situation for me. I'm 54. I play music since 13 years old... I had bands, did gigs but always wanted to be a racer too. Now in VR, it's like living that dream. I did not stop to make music, (much less dough) but if I had put all the time I put in sim racing since two years, I think I would have 3 or 4 new albums! But no more money!! I'm trying to mix both and see what happens. ;) Cheers!
I'm not interested in Sim racing, this video popped up randomly on my TH-cam homepage. But your talk on passion, and seeing how passionate you are about sim racing is really cool, and it got me hyped up to recover my dreams, my passion and to feel alive again. Thank you man! Wish you all the best!
Man this video was refreshing and inspiring. I fell in love with sim racing about 8 months ago and down the rabbit hole i go. Made me smile to hear you explain this hobby in this way. Other people might not understand, but there is a whole community of people that do. It's been on my mind for a while to work towards making some sim racing content of my own. You got yourself another subscriber 🤙
Hugs brother🤗 We are lucky to have that bug and having reason to push even no one around understands it 😁 We are also lucky to have the chance and find those online communities and truly share the experiences with people who feel the same way 💪
You got my sub, v I've been recently going through a rough patch but hearing stories of others and being reminded that even through the tough time we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I believe the rough time are also the most important in life as when we pass them we come better on the other side! I believe what we become is way more important then what we have 💪
Great video, for years I had to work hard to get my simracing gear and at the time I had it I doubted if it was right to do it or do something “more productive” with the money. There I met your channel, I saw your videos, your passion and you made me see make sense to do what I love without fear. Your videos have been very useful for me to spend money in a smarter way, study, prepare myself and choose good products. Thank you so much for that!
After watching this video I immediately subscribed. What you said reverberated with my views in life and my passion for sim racing. It's refreshing to find other people with similar life values. Best of luck with the channel. -Paul
I love watching your channel. As a passionate simracer your content is always inspiring... and congrats to the winner to the wheel. I hope everyone keeps enjoying simracing
Thank you so much for that video! It's not like im in a dark time or anything, but sometimes at random, those reminderst about passion and then making you think about your own passion are very important! Gonna follow your advice and find out more about dopamine management now.

I watched this video just before going out to walk my dog and it's all I could think about. This video was outstanding, and so poignant at describing the ups and downs of why we do what we do. Not just for sim racing, but all our passions. I've been finding it such a struggle recently to devote time in the seat and this was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for making such beautiful and heartfelt content that just obligates me to comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤
Sim racing has brought me passion and joy to no end. I've since started Sim Racing Nation and have grown the discord community to over 425 members in the last 3 months and I have strived to push that motivation further to help and connect others. It has been such an incredible journey so far to see others enjoy sim racing as much as I do. In that short time we've discovered talent and are bringing purpose to many people's lives. I can't express how much my passion aligns with yours.
I agree, it's going to only increase from there. We scouted someone within the group to represent Canada at Valencia in the upcoming motorsports games in the F4 category as well and we are working on allowing them to consider their pursuit up the ladder in real life Formula racing. They finished 3rd in the French F4 series last year. We're helping look for sponsors etc. very, very exciting times ahead and I'm glad the community is also helping this guy find a drive in real life too!
As a yet to become a sim racer but having the dream for +20 years i find your video quite impacting to me. About half an year ago i went by a similar event - burn out and depression related to work - i mean my job is my dream but i pushed myself too far. This is when i realized work is not the most important thing in life and i would bounce back as fast and best as i can. So.... been slowly building my dream of having a setup for sim racing and putting my job for what it is, a job and chase my dreams elsewhere. So here i am today with all the gear ready to assemble and start sim racing, taking it slow and steady, even built my own wheels and will have my setup working in the next 2-3 months. You showed me how I find myself related to you and inspired me at the same time.
Happy you have got to your realizations and going to change for your wellbeing man 💪 Happy to read also you are close to build your setup and almost ready to enjoy the hobby 😃 Congratulations buddy 🤛
I've only been in sim racing for a few months, but your videos are what really drew me into the hobby. The way you tell your story and the cinematography is amazing.
Beautiful mate, I'm 43 and love sim racing, I raced karts for many years, but then life and work is sometimes abit much, so I sold my karting stuff and slowly built a sim rig too.. would love a setup like yours but mine gets the job done. Keep up and good work and live the dream
It is great to have the replacement for our passion Benjamin 💪 Real racing is great but also way too expensive and sim have been such a great replacement for me too💪 We are lucky for sure 😁
Man you got me into sim racing 4 and a half years ago after I watched you teammates pushing it to the limit video I might not have as good as a sim as you 😂 still using the good old g920 and dose what I need it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come and how far your sim setup has come truly insperarational keep it up man and keep inspiring till you grow boared of the hobby (not that I think you will) I hope you keep it up I love the vids and even more the inspiration you gave me
I completely agree with you, mate! In my opinion, the journey is far more important than the destination. That's why approaching the journey with passion and enjoying every moment is essential in life! Thanks for the video! Respect💙🤜
Hats down for sharing your passion and the road to/of it. Keep it up, don't lose it again! If anyone does not like what you do, let them go somewhere else. Great channel, and the passion shows.
VR is better for my brain immersion and the only reason i built all this staff around the rig as i wanted to be as close as possible but even closing the gap a bit , VR is just next level experience 💪
VR is the future. Triples are an old timey solution. 4090 with a high end headset was MUCH better than the triples I used to have. By the time we get to 5090 cards, triples will be horse and buggies lol
Awesome video highlighting how passion in life can keep your mental health in check. Thank you mate! I will watch your videos for as long as you’ll keep them coming!
Steliyan, you have always been an inspiration to a better life, and I have it because of people who inspire me like you have. Tim Rengers, rallycross iracer. Sim racing since 1981 on pole position. Jetskiing, real racing in Lotus cars, playing more guitar and living the dream.
I would say I am experienced with Sim Racing and have been doing it for a 5 - 6 years now. Hearing your journey with ups and downs, I truly find you and your story motivating. I feel this video has helped me immensely, a good reminder to continue fighting even when things are at an all-time low, as I have also been in a situation like yours where my passion for racing had slowly started to whither, things became duller and a lot more boring to me. Simple reminders like "always get back up" have helped me with this as well. Love your content.
This channel is a beacon of positivity and motivation, keep up the great work. Another one in for the long ride here, having started my racing journey playing Grand Prix 1 and 2 to death on an Atari ST :-)
Steliyan, you're an absolute legend! Your sim racing content is fire and you're the ultimate goat. Your passion inspired me to drop a ton of cash on a new rig, lol. Keep up the amazing work!
Such an amazing video. I really appreciate you being honest with us and most importantly being honest with your self! You seem that you really enjoy what you do like most of us that are here. Thanks for all the great content, keep going bro!

Im glad you told this story of your passion for racing your awesome and keep going forward
I think that your struggle is the same struggle as all of us trying to find out where we fit in this world and looking for meaning in our lives
Awesome!
I would be proud if I manage myself to keep that passion as you did for so long time 😃
You have made some choices in life which keep you have for very long time and you must be proud!
Hope to be just like you
Where there's a wil there's a way never give up on what you love,I was diagnosed with lower bowel cancer 4 months ago had major surgery 4 weeks ago, one of the things helping me through this impossibly difficult time is the thought of getting back into my rig and racing again..
@joemendel3873 Your enthusiasm is inspiring. I hope to reach your age with the same attitude. Keep pushing!
Keep racing man
Life is a track, Keep on racing strong!
Thats great bro God bless you
❤
Knowing what you're passionate about is a blessing - lots of people search for something to be passionate about and never find it
I know man, I see it every day around me my entire life and I’m so thankful to have something which drives my motivation 💪
@@chepilevski it's clear from your videos, they are emotive and really well shot. They give me that cosy 'indoors on a rainy day' feel
@dannyleeracing right now is raining here and that always gives me the warm feeling inside when I’m indoor 😃
As you’ve said, that’s the best friend in darkest moments and we are so lucky to have it 💪
Agree with you 100%. I started at 4 years ago at the age of 50. My only regret is I wish I would have stumbled upon sim racing sooner!
@@timotheedhesse9412 man, that is happening all the time and people afterwards start asking how to do that 🤣🤣🤣
It so fun
I’m 59 and totally agree and it is my passion too. I have bought a go-kart as well to race but age is catching up with me. I built my own PC to race on ACC.
You are the only sim racer TH-camr that talks about the greater meaning behind our passions and the importance of letting it grow and develop. It is a gift to find something that drives you in life even if others can’t understand it. I don’t get much time in my sims but love it and each moment is precious.
It is such a beautiful drive to have in life, isn’t it 💪
Good management is also of racing time is important too as if I over do it is start loosing the meaning which again is dopamine related problem!
The main and important part is we are lucky to to have the bug 😁
Thanks for the kind words and best wishes for the rest of the weekend 🍻
You diagnosed yourself with depression, realized it, found the reason why, studied how to fix, and fixed it. And all that within a relatively small time-span. Kudos my man. Great job! Some people need years to do that. I know that feeling too well as well, and currently fighting against it too. :-/
I must do video as I have done that study for 5 years now and have lots of information to point for guys who will need it 100% at some point in their life 🤛

Grand Prix Legends is what got me hooked on simracing, it was such a ground breaking experience! Oh, and that SOUND! ❤️
Yes, we’re all overcompensating.
They're jealous ( I know I am i have a little baby and she doesn't leave much time for gran turismo lol 😂)
All the best you 🙌🏼
We are lucky old boys buddy 😁
All we can control is our own happiness. Everyone will walk their own path, and its up to them to find what makes them happy in this life 🙂👊
People saying this sentence, and I heard it a lot, have no idea what racing really costs.
As you can imagine, I laughed and told her, it would be impossible as getting an Australian race car shipped to the Nords would have a few challenges 😅😅
Being able to race or lap ANY car around ANY track is the reason I have a Sim rig.
Keep racing Gentlemen!
@@chepilevski Great comment. When someone makes fun of my sim racing I just feel pity for them that they don’t get to feel what we do.

See you on the track

You are the driver of your own life and you must find what keeps you driven to woke out of bed every morning and take the next challenge!
..You have both more and less time than you think. Follow your intuition. You can do both over time.

That is absolutely great approach man 💪💪💪
You know man, you were the one who motivated me to do everything to get into my passion of simracing (and later flightsims). Seeing you simple and honest working guy doing such an amazing things with your home hobby gave me tons of motivation and make me believe in myself too. And I am really thankful to you for this, it is the best gift I could ever receive.
What a beautiful post to read brother 🤗
Thank you for the kind words and best wishes for the weekend buddy 😃💪
That was a nice video man, in 3 days I will start my Sim Racing journey. I bought the most common steering wheel and pedals and will buy asset to corsa to start and learn the basics and when I’ll be ready I’ll go into iRacing. Your story reminded me that during the little time I spent on this earth I found my true passion which is racing and will do anything to be able to fulfill my happiness and goal about this passion. ❤
This is beautiful post to read brother 💪
If we really want it, we will find the way 🤗
As always mate! A wonderful video full of sense! It's not what you get at the end of the day that count, it's the journey behind it and the way we all overcome obstacle and hard times! Keep on going!
Absolutely man💪
So well said ❤️
Since I discovered you, I was captivated by your videos and your perspective on simracing. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to always improve and analyze our passion from many points of view, beyond just racing to win.
Thanks for the support and supportive post buddy 🤗
Best wishes for the rest of the weekend 🍻
It was channels like yours that introduced me to this amazing hobby and inspired me to do the same. I'm happy now to have also found my passion, something that I look forward to doing after work and spending my free time on. It has been life-changing for me. Keep doing what you're doing and sharing your passion with everyone!
We are so lucky brother!
We have to do our best to take care of our passion 💪
Heelandtoeknee has to be one of the best sim racing names going. Well deserved 🎉
😂 Thank you mate. You can call me Toni though. 😊👋
You are a motivation sir. Whenever i'm in doubt about continuing my SimRacing jurney i just rewind some of your videos, and im right back at the wheel. Keep it up, we got your back.
We just need to step back from time to time but always return💪
Hug brother
Activity is one of the keys too and I hope we will keep strong for long time💪
It is not only about being the fastest but about challenging ourselves and they to take the best from us 💪
Let’s see how we will evolve 😃
I'm so glad you've opened up about a strong topic as such. I'm in the same state of mind, where I've been trapped for a long time after some events that really changed me.
I used to be quick as hell sometime ago and really felt one with the sim. Now feels like I'm just slowly deteriorating my passion and do not feel comfortable with myself, my pace, my ambition to push even further, and to be creative/curious to find further limits, and to push even more.
That's how I was making a difference back then.
All the best to you and thanks for the great video.
Hugs brother 🤗
I do it in circles last few years driving competitively for 3 months and then doing other stuff again sim related which keeps the balance for me 😃
I love the passion in these videos. happy racing
Hugs brother 🤗
Very well said Billy 💪
Those first experiences are very hard to recreate and needs so much understanding and work to keep the balance 🙈
Ones those molecules goes all over the place is total mess 😁
Good we have so many great people like Andrew Huberman who are willing to gives us all the help we need for free💪
It’s all in our hands really!
I strongly believe that brother 💪
@@chepilevski Andrew Huberman, Jordan Peterson, Gabor Maté, Robert Sapolsky, HealthyGamerGG... Never run out of options my friend
@BillyCherokee hahah, we have the same taste💪
Love all of those guys 😃
There’s a thin line between passion and addiction as both provide dopamine spikes. I’ve been in and out of sim racing for the last two years but recently have been getting more seat time. It is such an amazing hobby
That is absolutely correct but I think Simracing is on the safe side as is hard and mostly connected with losses then wins and is not about quick cheap and easy dopamine spike as the work behind is hard 🙈
We mostly get addicted to quick and cheap dopamine stimulants and siming is hard 💪
Happy rest of the weekend
You inspired me and my rig and many others. Your passion is a shared thing brother and thank you!
It is such a beautiful feeling to know we are not alone in this journey and there are so many just like us full of passion for the hobby
That exactly 💪
Very very well said ❤️
I’m 42 years old and have had a lot of dark times of late. Aim racing always serves as an escape and time for me to reset and forget about things getting me down. Love your content, love your passion. As an owner of that wheel - I’m sure the winner will love it. Thank you for your videos mate.
It is one of the best friends we can have in dark moments bro 💪
I literally played at least 10 hours per night/morning for 7 years.... 6-8 hours per evening/ morning for the next 3 years ... sluffed off a bit after that... hungaroring 1:01:828..nurbergring 1:06:461,,, got 17 world record laps penalty free laps ,,, no regrets, i can fly now
💪😃
I usually played till 3:30 a m every day. I still play into the morning but usually not 3:30 any more. 1:30 im going to bed now...
Thank you for the beautiful post man 🤗
It is so nice feeling to see so many people driven by the same passion 💪
The cars may be fake, but the racing is real.
I started on a Fanatec speedster 2 back in 2001 playing Grand turismo, now on a semi decent direct drive rig with VR
and sometimes forget I'm in a fake car. Like you had some real a life experience and feel picking the sim up again
has not only made me a safer, more precise driver but given me something to carry with me for life.
Can tell you're a humble normal guy mate. Your videos and comment sections help a lot of us realize that the world isn't always nasty, when people have a passion
it doesn't matter how good or bad you are or how big or small your setup is we all have the same passion.
Hey brother, I firmly believe the world is not nasty place at all just the we give more attention to the nasty things which is just our surviving instincts!
World have never been better but life needs some guidance for fulfilling existence 💪
Hug brother
This is beautiful. Congratulations Steliyan.
I agree, we are fulfilling a passion and learning every step of the way.
Thanks you for the beautiful post Albert 🤗
"I take care of my passion, and my passion takes care of me." 💯❤
How couldn't we love your content ! You are an inspiration. Continue sharing with us your (our) passion for sim racing !
Hugs brother 🤗
There will be many who won’t like it but that is absolutely normal 😃
Great part is, we have many choices those days 😁
Happy weekend 🍻
I'm 51 years now and after 8 years of sim-racing I got back into my old hobby, that was once meant to be a profession: making music. So I'm quite convinced to this date I will sell all my sim-racing stuff and buy new expensive instruments instead making no money🤗
I love music and I have enormous respect for your work guys!
Music is something that touches me the most and we need you!
Spend as much as you can for your creativity and give us those beautiful feelings through your work 🤗
Don't marry your job. Marry your hobby.
Happy to see it has positive impact on you buddy!
Passion is passion and doesn’t matter where comes from as the feeling is always the same 💪
your energy is so positive. these videos will always be the first thing i think when dedication and passion come to mind.
Glad to read you see those videos with positive energy brother 🤗
Man this video was refreshing and inspiring. I fell in love with sim racing about 8 months ago and down the rabbit hole i go. Made me smile to hear you explain this hobby in this way. Other people might not understand, but there is a whole community of people that do. It's been on my mind for a while to work towards making some sim racing content of my own. You got yourself another subscriber 🤙
Hugs brother🤗
We are lucky to have that bug and having reason to push even no one around understands it 😁
We are also lucky to have the chance and find those online communities and truly share the experiences with people who feel the same way 💪
It's the most beautiful video ive seen in so long, you spoke my heart and my mind
You are a fascinating man. I enjoy your mix of sim racing and the psychological aspects you sometimes talk about. Greetings from Madrid.
Thank you for the beautiful post man 🤗
It means a lot to me 🍻
You got my sub, v I've been recently going through a rough patch but hearing stories of others and being reminded that even through the tough time we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you for the share in that beautiful post man 🤗
It was really heartwarming to read ❤️
After watching this video I immediately subscribed. What you said reverberated with my views in life and my passion for sim racing. It's refreshing to find other people with similar life values. Best of luck with the channel. -Paul
Is so great for me too to know other people value their hobbies in the same way Paul 😃
We are lucky guys for sure buddy 💪
Have a wonderful weekend 🤛
I love watching your channel. As a passionate simracer your content is always inspiring... and congrats to the winner to the wheel. I hope everyone keeps enjoying simracing
Thanks for the supportive words and best wishes for the rest of the weekend brother 🤗
Man, this is the first video on your channel I watching. You are amazing!
I hope your channel will grow a lot!
Hugs buddy and thanks for the kind words ❤️
Best wishes for the weekend 😃
Thank you so much for that video! It's not like im in a dark time or anything, but sometimes at random, those reminderst about passion and then making you think about your own passion are very important! Gonna follow your advice and find out more about dopamine management now.
Hugs brother 🤗
Find Andrew Huberman Lap TH-cam channel and you will learn crazy stuff how to optimize yourself 💪

Always Came back to your Videos, when ever i want to inform myself on a new simracing topic. Great Job dude and im happy that u have your passion
Thanks for the support and supportive words buddy 🤗
Ran into your channel randomly as I just built my first racing sim rig. You're genuine, I appreciate that.

It’s is such a heart warming post to read ❤️
Thank you for that

Thanks for the kind words Joe ❤️
@@chepilevski you have great philosophy and attitude, also you have taught me very interesting things about how the brain works. thanks
Your mentality is so powerful and motivating. Videos are so informative and has saved me hours of troubleshooting. Thanks
We are so lucky man not just having the bug but also finding twin souls all over the world 💪
I agree, it's going to only increase from there.
@@chepilevski If you're ever curious, my info is in my description in my channel. We have Tom from Grid Finder/Traxion in there too.
Wow, that wheel is a beauty! 🤩 Congrats to the winner!!
Hope you had a great weekend bro. Thanks for all you do for the community.

Weeks was great and I hope you had good one too 💪
As a yet to become a sim racer but having the dream for +20 years i find your video quite impacting to me.
Happy you have got to your realizations and going to change for your wellbeing man 💪
Happy to read also you are close to build your setup and almost ready to enjoy the hobby 😃
Congratulations buddy 🤛
I've only been in sim racing for a few months, but your videos are what really drew me into the hobby. The way you tell your story and the cinematography is amazing.
Thanks for the supportive words Danny 🤗
It mean a lot to me 🍻
Beautiful mate, I'm 43 and love sim racing, I raced karts for many years, but then life and work is sometimes abit much, so I sold my karting stuff and slowly built a sim rig too.. would love a setup like yours but mine gets the job done. Keep up and good work and live the dream
It is great to have the replacement for our passion Benjamin 💪
Real racing is great but also way too expensive and sim have been such a great replacement for me too💪
We are lucky for sure 😁
@@chepilevski yes we most certainly are. Look forward to some more content from you 😎
Man you got me into sim racing 4 and a half years ago after I watched you teammates pushing it to the limit video I might not have as good as a sim as you 😂 still using the good old g920 and dose what I need it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come and how far your sim setup has come truly insperarational keep it up man and keep inspiring till you grow boared of the hobby (not that I think you will) I hope you keep it up I love the vids and even more the inspiration you gave me
Wow, I remember that video and was so fun pushing with the teammates the limits 😃
Happy you enjoy your journey with sim man 💪
I completely agree with you, mate! In my opinion, the journey is far more important than the destination. That's why approaching the journey with passion and enjoying every moment is essential in life! Thanks for the video! Respect💙🤜

You have the absolute best triple setup I’ve ever seen brother. So good it makes me question my VR choice.
VR definitely is the future.

Amazing video, this community has so many stories like yours. and the glue for all those stories are passion.

It is amazing how many people out there share the same beautiful journey with all the ups and downs !
