  • Lumintop is one of my favorite flashlight brands and this flashlight is one reason why. The Tool AA 2.0 is a no-nonsense quality EDC flashlight with a great beam, solid design and construction, tail switch, and the best lumen output for brightness and battery life...and for less than $25 you can't go wrong.

I've carried this for years now, several, and they have had a hard edc life. One went thru the washer unscathed.
Heres a tip. store the diffuser over the switch end. It'll take a bit of pushing, but it'll work fine after.
Firstly, it stores in on the torch, so it's there if you want it. You can still press the button like its not there.
Second - you can hold it iin your teeth, and that is really useful, without a need for a dentist.
Third - it helps you not turn it on by accident.
You just pull it off, use it as a lantern (and it's good for that). Also it's glow in the dark is strong for 10 minutes or so, so you can put the diffuser on, give it 5 seconds at full output, turn the torch off and you get a good luminescent glow of it.
It terms of output - on an AA - its 25m at full brightness, so use with cation. It's rare to need that brightness out and about at night, but I often toggle it on for a few seconds then go back to 3 or 4 . I can generally see the path on mode 4, and this mode is the sale for me - up to 100 hours I believe, and it's bright enough to light read, and use as a tent lantern for days.
I hate the addition of the tail light, although I have the earlier model without it. Awful idea. I don't want the battery training. But you can twist the top section loose enough to turn it off, because I've tried on mine and apart from the tail light, they look identical. So thinking about it, once you know that, it's probably a good addition.

Great EDC light from Lumintop. The Tool AA 3.0 Titanium with Osram P9 LED is my favourite.

I like this one! Its really neat! That Anduril system is super complex I had a BLF A6 that had Anduril and it was nuts what that thing could do. This is a great size and I like the diffuser. The fact that you can get AA batteries anywhere anytime is a game changer. 18650 is great but its not available everywhere and it adds bulk. I know you dont like the tail switch but for me that is awesome! There is just a lot about this light that makes sense. Hope you have a great day Tim!

It’s a keeper! I agree with the 18650. The AA is a potent EDC framework for a flashlight. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Went through 1 Corinthians 1-3 today. Encouraging.

As far as ideal length for the tail switch you might consider the Streamlight 1L-1AA duel fuel (really triple fuel lol)
Too many great things to say about it. It’s worth researching if you’re not familiar with it.
Absolutely love the Tool 2.0! Thinking about the 3.0 now thanks to you! Yet another great light I absolutely do not need! 😅

Plenty of lights...so little time...and space on the multi-port chargers. I'll look into the Streamlight 1L. I'd like to get my hands on a tried and true Streamlight. have a great week.

@@Realidealgear Sounds good. Just so you know, there is actually a Streamlight 1L.
      I’m recommend the 1L-1AA. 😊

I just got my EDC15 and at turbo or even high, it gets surprisingly hot, like if I held it I would burn my hand. Is that normal?

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching.
It does get hot. Turbo mode on a single emitter gets hot very quickly, the flashlights where that doesn’t happen, are much heavier with more metal or fins near the base of the optic, or they are far bigger flashlights with multiple emitters intended to run at relatively lower amp…thereby not generating as much heat. Can’t get away from the physics of heat when using: single emitters, lightweight aluminum materials, run at high outputs. Turbo is for high output bursts, not sustained usage…or be aware of the heat.

A great review! Thank you. I've already fenix pd 35 v3, and I'm looking for simplier flashlight. I've chosen lumintop aa 2.0, but I've a problem, what to choose. There are led nichia 4000K and Cree 5500K. What would you advice? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for watching and commenting. Fenix makes some great lights!
4k is too warm...I'd go 5k and you'll get more lumens.
