    Just threw my second 3 piece lip on. Figured it’s not worth spending the money on carbon and still looks good. Fitment is a little off but like you said it’s expected for $70

      Thanks for watching! Good luck on the install!My suggestion would be to watch the edges since they come a little short. Other than that, it was easy.

    Looks good dude! I just got the carbon fiber one. Lots of potholes and hills and low ground where I am, don’t mind if I destroy a $60 lip!

      Nice! Definitely a throwaway front lip but for $60, no complaints.

  • @brenndoloco

    I got the same off eBay and only thing I didn't like was the missing 20mm on the edge of the bumper but I evened mine out each end to make it look more even on both sides. For $80 AUD I couldn't complain 👍

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Yeah, aside from the small gap it’s not a bad lip.

    Would it be better to pre drill to use nuts and bolts rather than self tapping? Does it make more secure? Or is there no difference at all?

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but it’s personal preference. I ended up switching to a different front lip that I used nuts and bolts to secure. I knew I wasn’t going to keep this lip for long time so I self tapped it. Here’s the lip I have now: th-cam.com/video/-uigME8Lnu0/w-d-xo.html

    For 70 bucks it looks super good.. nobody is going to notice that gap on the passenger side unless you tell them lol.. and I'm just saying not wishing, if it falls off the highway it won't hurt your pocket 😂

    ABS will break if you hit anything. PU bends easily when it's hot. PP material is the best against heat and scrapes....unless you wanna go for expensive reinforced fiberglass or carbon fiber. I would just filter out PU and ABS...those are craps.

    How did you make the yellow for the ddl?
    Did you have to take them apart and paint or yellow film outside/inside?

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just cut some yellow film I got from eBay and stuck them on the outside. I did this a few times until I was happy with the shape.

    hi I have a question, I m thinking of putting a front bumper lip on my WRX,
    Will there be any problem in terms of driving condition if I install only the front lip without putting side skirt and rear bumper lip ?

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good question! Unless you are building a time attack race car, you shouldn’t have any problems with installing only the front lip.

  • @enertron4976
    @enertron4976 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought a similar one but haven’t installed yet. Do you think a screw could vibrate loose and puncture a tire? Wondering if I should use loctite or if the small screws will hold tight

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The screws shouldn’t fall out if you make sure to not strip the plastic. I did have the same concerns so I ended up using nuts & bolts to secure my Bayson-R lip, the lip I got after this one.

    Do you think I can use double sided tape? I really don’t want to drill holes into my bumper

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t trust double sided tape for the front lip. It’s constantly fighting against the wind so it most likely won’t hold up.

    • @garydeandeery
      @garydeandeery 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trust me you need to screw it on and have pins to hold it up. Iv seen people driving after a show and see the splitter bend down from the wind then snap if went under the car into bits

    did you pre-drill holes into the car before screwing into in?

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not necessary since I’m using self tapping screws but it can’t hurt to drill pilot holes with a very small drill bit.

    @icebreaka1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    what are you scared of? I used to drive 91 subaru legacy without ABS, Air Bag, cable type manual transmission, I remember my shifter can hit the cup holder and knock the drinks off while shifting from 2nd to 3rd, (worn shifter bushings) and installing parts from Ebay and Oreilly(kragen auto parts), so don't be scared if you see made in china on the box, these day nothing is not made in china anyway. lol. only if that is safety related like Coilover suspension, do not get those are made in china, because you know those can kill you if it failed while you driving hard or racing.
    Give you a Big Thumb up for your beautiful WRX.

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used the self tapping screws the kit came with so I didn’t need to drill pilot holes. You can probably drill holes first with a small drill bit like a 1/8 if you choose to.
