The 3 of them together make a well oiled machine. I wasn't sure what to think about the chemistry between them last year, but this year it feels like it has taken off from where it ended last year, and there is even more fun going on. I've loved Lionel since he had the Commodores, I didn't think I would care for Katy but I was wrong, and I had no idea if I would like Luke or not. Well, that was last year. This year is as if they just took a break for a couple of weeks and dove right in head first. These 3 judges are the best combination Idol has ever had, and I'm going back to season 1. Quite a few contestants who didn't finish as the winner or runner-up over the years have made it big also.
These were super talented contestants...the BEST so far ever! It was a JOY to watch ALL the talent and how it was narrowed down to one. These three are not vicious in their comments which makes it easier to watch and for the contestants to accept.
I may not be the only one, but I'm also absolutely amazed by how intuitive, to not say medium, Katy Perry is on that show. She is a fantastic individual, empathetic, genuine, kind, protective, and soothing. Her talent is way beyond her voice, I mean how spectacular her soul is really got me.
