  • Today we begin exploring Chapada Diamantina, an area of Brazil that is lesser-known and less explored by tourists from abroad. Not a lot of foreigners get to go to this area of Bahia, Brazil, and it's like nothing you've seen in this country before. We leave the shores and Brazilian beaches to drive inland toward the National Park Chapada Diamantina and we stay in Lencois. Let's find some rivers, caves, a different type of beach, and much more around here. Travel Brazil with us as we explore this country in ways most tourists don't get to. This is the Chapada Diamantina Travel Vlog.

Serrano and Ribeirão do Meio are two places that you don´t need a guide and they´re close to Lençois. On the top of the hill, if you turn left you go to Ribeirão do Meio natural water slide (30-40 minutes walking) and if you go to the right side of the city and follow the river upstream you´ll find the natural pools of Serrano after a 15-minute walk. The water is a reddish-brown color because of the minerals in it. There are places that are much more gorgeous but those are still interesting to visit because they´re close to the city. You can find images online if you search for Serrano Lençois, Poço Halley Lençois, Ribeirão do Meio Lençois.

Thank you for sharing your adventures. I leave a tip to the couple: note that you are making large displacements in rough and remote areas. They are taking routes that you do not know and for this reason I think it is essential to take lots of water and practical foods with you. A crash in the car (far from me wishing it!), Or a wrong route, plus the absence of cellular signal coverage, may require you to take a long break in the sun, heat, etc. It was not clear to me if you already do this, but if you don't, think about it.

Por isso que é melhor ir até a cidade principal, ir a uma agencia , que são dezenas facilmente encontradas, e comprar um pacote, eles providenciam transporte, acesso e dependendo da atração alimentação também. Sonho em algum dia voltar lá.

Alexander Bellos, an English journalist wrote a book about football "Football: the Brazilian Way of Life" was the distant year of 1998, Açaí was only consumed locally due to lack of refrigeration to transport it to big cities. He wrote in chapter twelve: "The culinary highlight was when Joaquim Neto invited me to have an açaí - a delicious purplish fruit full of protein - at home. I predict that açaí will one day be available
in the four corners of the world. "What a visionary was he!!
