I did, almost 28 yrs ago before enlistment. An experience one will never forget in their lifetime. Usually 2 sorties of 10 per flight and the cargo net seats to endure. Nice if you are the first sortie that flies from Changi to Sembawang for drop. With the back door open all the time, it was the most memorable scenic ride to Sembawang
@LOVEISBEG "On moving objects, Trains, Cars, Aircrafts etc. the flag should be waving rearwards as if it was flying in the breeze while moving forward. Showing the flag in a retreating motion is disrespectful to the flag." You can see this on passenger jets too, fyi (:
I didn't know the CH-47D Chinook had static line jump capability. And don't the Guards get this training as well? Guards are meant to be elites specializing in helicopter insertions right?
@@blood852000 NOPE!! Seen people who are definitely NOT siao on and are not fit (enlist 1 month earlier due to not getting silver/gold for IPPT prior to enlist and got out 1 month later, thus 24 months over 22 months), YET, ends up donning the Red Beret (got fit enough and cleared all the requirements). 1 month is all the instructors need to get them ("unfit") up to speed to the "fit" batch before everyone go through the same training to be CDO.
Reply might be 9 years late but if still interested to know, here goes: Voice out and let someone (military personnel) know before enlisting, ie, during the military general medical check up (before enlist letter), let the doctor know (may or may not help), go to CMPB to look for any recruitment officers and state your interest (more likely to be helpful) but also depends if interest is to sign on as CDO or just serve NS as CDO. Know of a person's experience, mentioned to the doc during general medical check up (cannot confirm if it helped or not). Sometime after medical check up, received a letter from "SOTAC" (Special Operations Tactical Centre) for interview at Pasir Ris Camp. The "interview" is like a half day thing, consist of IQ/Personality/Physical/Agility/etc test and the instructors there will ask if you are interested in joining CDO (+ express your interest from "1-10" in joining various other units) near the end. Not sure if things have changed but during then your opinion DON'T MATTER when asked about joining CDO or not. Heard a good number of people saying not interested to join CDO or don't want to join but ended up being enlisted as CDO trainee (which some of them graduated with Red Berets on their head). X amount of time after "interview", said person received another letter from SOTAC asking him to report to Pasir Ris Camp for enlistment. And thus began the journey for the Red. Heard some rumors of certain check being done (cannot confirm or denied if said rumors are true), like, family background, education, health, etc. 1 of the more common things said, fitness can be trained, health cannot. If keen to be a CDO regular, there are more chances even if you don't get in initially. There are a good number of people who came from various units from Army, Navy, Air Force and joined the CDO family. Mental strength, resilience, perseverance are some of the key things that they look out for.
Hi! I have a question to ask. Can regulars from any vocation sign up for this course? And also, the push up done by females is the one with or without knees touching the ground?
Hi Ronnie, only the commandos wear the red berets. As for more information on the different colours of berets, you may visit facebook.com/oursingaporearmy/photos/a.10151220571176063/10153384246471063/?type=3&theater

4:23, person on the left already cleared SF and Ranger, then go for BAC? Interesting timeline
I remember our sergeant major about C-130s: "Don't ask me what it's like to fly in a C-130. The first time I got on one, I had to jump off!"
great, detailed documenting
0:57 He reminded me of the guy in ARMY DAZE!
they seems to be soldiers from various unit participating the BAC. Any way they did a good job completing the task.

Guards only do heliborne jump.
@@吴德明-n8c Yes, that's what I was saying by Guards being specialists in helicopter insertions.
No la.. Guards get "drowned" easily.. Don't try.

used to be a total.of 7 jumps. 5D(including 1FBO& 4CF) 2 night jump(1FBO & 1CF)..
Many years back (2007-2009 +/-), it's 5 jumps 3D (1 FBO & 2 CF), 2 Night (1 FBO & 1CF) during the course.

Ghosh I'm in commando and I have serious height phobia. Hope I can conquer this
how i wish to have a chance to be commando
I love and miss jumping out of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. They are always a blast to just walk out the back of the ramp and fall straight down.
@SpecJack15 guards do heli repelling
Can any member of the armed forces apply for BAC? Or are there other restrictions to apply for it?
@gadiorla: does not affect combat capability apparently.

do you see air force.
I believe many inside this video are " Commando ", but how come their wings are no longer with the red packing ?
after watching this , what the point of doing this enemy can see you while your parachuting
inzenous usually in war, they will deploy you somewhere far from the enemy site, then you will have to make your way by foot to the site.
oh and it's done this way because the planes and helicopters may not be able to find a safe landing site to land in.
@TuahBugis11 hi senior iam from 181 BAC
