    Hey man, I loved watching this, not like normally where your videos have great content (this one does too of course) but it was so awesome seeing you get something that you've worked so hard for and truly deserve after what you've given to the community. I remember you telling me on discord a while ago ( back in the early days) that getting into the Trinov world was the goal but was a ways off at the time. Well, a year a half on and you've nailed it. Awesome, awesome job man. Congratulations on the epic purchase!

    Congrats buddy, I know you have had your sights set on the Trinnov for quite some time. I am pumped for you my friend, always amazing to see a friend reach their dream goals. Even though I am extremely happy with my Anthem AVM90, I am still a little jealous lol. The Anthem is amazing, but it doesn't quite have the same prestige as the Trinnov. Loved the video brother, it was great to see you giddy as a school girl for the Trinnov lol.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HAHA I was giddy - that video was completely script free so I had to collect my thoughts. That moment before the unboxing... oh boy!! And certainly, Anthem was next on my list... if Trinnov was going to elude me I would 100% have gone Anthem but it's just a personal thing - ever since I first heard a Trinnov paired with Krix speakers, it was literally a path I wasn't going to deviate from. Good to hear from you brother, hopefully we can catch up soon on Facetime.

  • @TylerStout
    @TylerStout 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Congrats Tony! I wish more products had that atmos viewer, one of the many perks. Even though they are crazy expensive the Trinov does feel worth it since in 10 years you'll still be able to use it and it be modern albeit after an hdmi board upgrade or two.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh yeah HDMI 2.1, I don't really need it. My Epson TW9300 (6040UB) will be in my setup for a while. I love it, and have no plans to upgrade it, unless I can get a great deal on the 12000B, which may do better with a 2.1 HDMI input... The irony is that this Trinnov is a new one so as they upgrade hardware in rolling production to current chipsets, it should last me forever basically and I can just pay for incremental upgrades. The pure performance of the optimizer alone makes it worth the pricetag.

    • @HomeCinemaJunkie
      @HomeCinemaJunkie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuildMontage I concurr, this HDMI 2.1 craze in a receiver/processor is requested by a really small group of gamers. 4k/60hz is plenty, plus as you say for home cinema HDMI 2.1 is way overkill....

    Congrats again on obtaining your dream piece of A/V gear Tony! And this is the most interesting and informative video I've seen on the Trinnov, so good work to you and Michael for explaining things so well! Trinnov definitely seems like an amazing product, and I love how the mic knows exactly where each speaker is in the room using triangulation... That's so cool, and should be used by more AVR's!
    Anyway, for my room I feel putting a Trinnov in it would be like buying a Porsche or Ferrari high performance engine and putting in a Toyota Corolla! Lol! While I know it would still improve the sound in my room, it would be massively disproportionate to the rest of my A/V gear, and wouldn't make sense for my setup.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate - you may be surprised that mediocre rooms (like my own!) are where the Trinnov can really shine and make it sound insanely good. Fantastic mate and welcome to the Trinnov club. Can you share your response curves on a video the before and after please, I find that part very interesting. I'll be needing my ALT16 calibrated again in the next month as I'm getting acoustics panels installed. Was great to meet you at the Hi-Fi show, you should remember myself and my brother as we chatted for awhile at the Krix booth and we were all the same height :).

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Simon yes I do remember you :) Unfortunately I decided during the making of the video that I wouldn't start sharing all my graphs as yet. I want to try and get a hande on the beast first and my room. It can be a minefield sharing that kind of thing as every room is different and the response in my room will be completely different from yours. My room has well documented challenges which means we had to attack problems in a specific way which may not be relevant to you or your room. Hopefully that makes sense. maybe one day I will but for now, I'm keeping all of those things on the down low till i can come to terms with things :) Needless to say, Michael has my room sounding incredible, all credit to him for that and more with my room!

    Congrats! So jealous. So tell us a bit more about the Amplitude 16 you've got in your rack :)

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amplitude will hopefully feature in a video. Sadly we had to send it back to Krix as they needed it before I could put it through it's paces and Michael had a limited window so we decided to work on the Altitude video.

    I like this processor. Is this worth getting if I only have six channels that I'm willing to deal with? I'm concerned at all those additional channels available may interfere with the quality of the sound.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it wont. It's a processor, there is no amplifier built into it. But expensive purchase for 6 channels :) Each channel is programmable so it will be used for your subwoofers as well.

    Congrats on getting your end game gear! Would Trinnov make sense in a living room (not purely for home theater use) for a 7.x.4 setup? Or is it an overkill?

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure. It would improve any room. If you can afford it it’s not overkill :)

      Sure. I’ve experienced many rooms well over 6 figures.

    I gotta admit I don’t think they look premium, the styling is not far removed from NADs classic look. They spent the development budget on the inside, not the outside.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally disagree with the first part - I love how it looks at the front. The finish is very slick, the buttons and dials are very smooth. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Most of the contents and movies are 5.1 can a budget system read the movie signals and turn it to atmos or even real cinema experience?? Thanks

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's the power of the Trinnov - it can take a 5.1 signal and upmix it using Dolby Surround or Neural-X and it's pretty convincing.

    What mic stand do you recommend for the Trinnov microphone?

    • @BuildMontage

      It will all depend on where you want to have your stand. This one will work well: amzn.to/3Tt3iew

    All these TH-camrs getting hugely discounted Trinnovs is kinda a bummer because now they're all basing all their feedback on some $15,000 processor.
