Wow, Sam Torrance actually has a pretty good singing voice! And Sean Connery has one of the most relaxing voices in the world, I'm certain.
Seriously, it gave me goosebumps when the bagpipes started to play. It makes me so proud to be Scotish as i can't think of another country with as much traditions which makes it so special. Scotland ftw indeed :)

a very good add, takes me back just watching it. The sean connery bit always makes me giggle a little, everyone singing and sean's like "nuts to that" Also i think his section is rather poiniant, "let me tell you that i love you, and that i think about you all the time..." Sounds like the words of a scotsman far from home.

It's a great song, and wonderful people and we are all home here where we live, but just long for what we miss or have heard about for so many years! This is the year! The 250th anniversary to Robert Burns as well! :)

I am not sure what to think of the video. Wonder if the Proclaimers would have been good in it. I am of Scottish ancestry on my dad's side. My dad's father was a Glover, under the Angus tartan. My dad's mother was from the Carnegie side with ancesters from McGowan, Dunbars and Walkers. I have been to Scotland twice and love it. I can see why my ancestors settled in Montana, USA since the mountains are very much like those in Scotland but much colder.

2009 is a big year for Scotland, Robert Burn' s 250th birthday, We're celebrating with over 200 events for the whole world to remember. And the PanAm Bomber release from prison is surely going to be the single one that will be remembered world-wide when the rest are forgotten.

Actually, Homecoming Scotland brought in a lot of Tourist money to the economy, and still does bring in a lot of money (considering people came during Homecoming Scotland and liked it so much they have made regular holidays here) Out of all sources of income, the Scottish Tourist Board bring in the most.
Good video, apart from sean connery, only came back to scotland recently to make money by selling his book, that worked out well though didnt it. Last count i think there were 7 copies sold.

As a strong supporter of Scottish independence, I have to say that I find the ultra-nationalists and ultra-unionists both very exhausting - a little respect and sensible debate is what is needed with this topic. Thankfully, with the current 'national conversation' we are having, this is finally beginning to happen - Labour, Tories and especially Lib Dem are finding it increasingly difficult not to simply ASK THE PEOPLE!
Im not bright enough to fiddle figures, but lets just see what happens if there ever is a referendum.

Homecoming is also a special thing within different nations where all the clans come together and celebrate their heritage. Its a Special, and great Atmospheric event, everybody is happy ect.

I love this advert too but sean connery and that woman after him have a cheek. He is a tax exile and she when she moved to england changed her accent and made fun of scotland. Maybe not so much Connery since he lets people know he still considers himself scottish but she definately has a cheek.

This is a fantastic ad. It gets you going and makes you proud to be scottish. Unfortunately they have put Lulu in it, whoe now talks with an English accent and apparently couldn't even travel up from England to shoot her part!!! Take her out of it then it will be great.
@TheGGolder "Fuss" Homecoming is a very important thing, not just in Scotland but its a World Wide Celebration for the spectacular event of the safe return of our troops out fighting in Afghan / Pakistan Ect.
