Unbelievable! Smoothest landing ever. Did not realize the plane had hit the ground. No vibrations at all. Amazing!

As smooth of a landing as one can ever see.....no jerk or a thud during touchdown- seemed like the 757 was suspended on a cable. What an amazing pilot behind the controls.

Mumbai's Slums and its people are an integral part of the city. These are the places where people work really hard to serve the Metro. There are millions of unique stories in these slums and one of that (Slumdog Millionaire) was also recognised by the Academy Awards. Whether it's Dharavi, Kurla, Azad Nagar or Ghatkopar Asalpha these places are treasure of talents. So guys don't underestimate people living there.
It needs to be fixed now. If they are an integral part then they also deserve a better life .

That means Ryan Air pilots are safe fliers. Hard landings in general are considered to be safe landings.

Most of the Pakistanis are commenting about slums in Mumbai. They should concentrate on Orangi Town in Karachi Pakistan which is the largest slum in the world with 3 million people living in it. A new International Airport is being constructed in Navi Mumbai which will be ready in two and half years. It's at a completely different location and it won't have slums around. 😂🤣😁😀

I know what slum means in literal terms. But who gave you, or anyone else for that matter, the right to judge if these homes are being inhabited by "impoverished" ones or they are underdeveloped. A home, is a place where a person leads his or her life with dignity, be it a hut, a tent, a masterclass apartment or these small houses.
What I meant by this is that 'slum' can't be used to determine a place where people find their peace of life after a hectic day. Respect those who have less than you but are happier than you with that. :)

*Now i know why it's so tough to find suitable place to land in case communication fails (emergency)..we see nothing on ground unless we come really close to ground and still we have no surety that ground is solid and flat enough for ok landing and i haven't mentioned bad weather yet so it's hell of tough thing to be a pilot i guess, footage was stunning btw 👍*

I landed there years ago when it was still called Bombay. None of those hangars on the left were there and pallets of cargo were left out in the rain scattered around the ramp.There was a Russian Aircraft that ran off the end of the runway the day before and hundreds of people were pushing it out of the mud by hand. On take off when I left you could see people walking along the edge of the runway out for a stroll. Amazing.
Three years before also it was called Mumbai.

@@jassi1211 well I guess when you are aligned with the runway so you shouldn't turn like at the last 500ft as that could cause problems with glidescope mess up further.

I flew into there in 1993. The first thing you noticed when they opened the door was the awful smell. I hope that it's better today.
Now it's ranked 63rd according to skytrax world airport awards and is considered as one of the best in the world!
I smelt shit in Nov 96 too, just as the doors of plane opened to let pax go to the skybridge. The stench is omni present , as one comes into mumbai from Europe or USA

i m born & raised in mumbai but when i left for UK & came back after a year i too got hit by smell of shit & i wondered are people shitting near airport or what..but thats the thing you become indifferent to that smell in one day & dont even smell it. people back home dont realise the awful coditions they are living in. :(
Every place in the world has a peculiar smell that the people living there do not realize. When I first landed in the US from India, it smelled weird too and I got used to it within a day. Mumbai is probably the only big city having an airport right in the middle of the city, unlike others where the airports are located in the country side outside the city limits, where there is less pollution and dirt. Imagine having an airport where Times Square is in NYC. That would smell like shit too. What can India/Mumbai do better? Cleanliness.
That said, Mumbai airport has one of the best customer service in the world, to which none of the airports in the US come close to. I wish Mumbai maintains rest of the city the way it maintains it's airport.
