This was awesome. As someone who picks the Minutemen in Fallout 4 and the NCR in New Vegas I like to wonder if there would ever be an NCR-Minutemen War.
I don't think this two would be at war unless the successor of Preston and sole survivor will be like kembail, both has kind of imperialistic ideals but both are democratic and highly inspired by pre war America and it's culture. Maybe not unficate like one country but be friends for sure
I think it wouldn't be NCR, more of something Ulysses saw in a devide before courier failed intelligence check with enclave nukes remote: Federative state with autonomous settlements and cites. Maybe they'll become more organised as time passes cuz that's what is need to make competitive state, but still in their core very federative country
In my headcannon I struggle with the minutemens main issued rifle. I like your use of the M1 garand because I can imagine the minutemen just found stores of CMP rifles.
I love the minuteman faction so much I use it's mindset for helping at a moments notice in fallout 76 with the responders faction, so say what you want about it being "Half Assed", I used it to be creative in game, like I'm making a second faction of The Minutemen, I like it that much modded or unmodded, the second faction is called: The Wolf Brotherhood; creativity opens doors for mods to add on to what the devs created, instead of saying screw the devs mods are superior, work with them, addon to their work for generations to come to say "Hey, that's pretty neat", like the minutemen in-game
Thanks for this interesting video. In my own head canon my PC (tho it's Nora not Nate) used her eventual old world wit and prior job experience (as a 'Jurist' working in a gov institution) to build up the Minutemen and professionalize them, partly thanks to Vault 88 resources and an eventual alignment with the Institute which she wants to reform slowly into a better force of good, while the Minutemen are a sort of surface tool to bring more order and peace - and professionalizing them to be more than a rag-tag militia is paramount to this endeavour.
This is oddly fitting as there is no way the minutemen aren't expansionists, well at least till their is never another settlement that needs your help.
I absolutely love the Minutemen but all of my headcanon for them keeps the Laser Musket. Game balance aside, it is hands down the greatest weapon ever. It requires no ammunition, which lightens the logistics load, and can be charged up enough to knock deathclaws and super mutants on their ass in only a couple hits.
In order to be more Lore accurate, each iteration should be spaced out in centuries rather then realistic decades. Because everyone in fallout is written so insanely stupid and backwards nowadays.
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you enjoy this stuff then you might enjoy some of the more story orientated stuff that explores the lore I've built up.
Big fan of this speculative universe idea, I'd love to play around with it in my own game, any chance you'd be willing to drop a full mod list from your videos?
If you get these mods then you pretty much got all you need to recreate these uniforms: For Clothing: - We Are The Minutemen - Militarized Minutemen - Combat Armor Vests Non-replacer - Classic Army Helmet and Field Caps - Army Fatigues Simple improvements - Classic Combat Armor -Wearable Backpacks and Pouches For Weapons: - M1 Garand - A WWII Classic - Rifles Rebirth
The minutemen aren't soldiers and they don't care to be soldiers. They are a civilians militia made by farmers to defend each other incase they need help and that's it. They don't care about forming a government or a nation, maybe in time they could do so, but in Fallout 4 each settlements (farm) just want to be at peace, that's why Bethesda didn't make them into a power house like the NCR. I would have love it for the minuteman to become a power house or even a government but well, let's see if they appear in the future.
NCR is more of late 50's -early 60's era. NCR army honestly looks more like militia that army. Maybe because they based their power arm s in old guns that were out of commission and weren't touched during atomic bombing and of most common among civilians and settlements like double barrel shoutguns, hunting rifles, half automatic carabines, Winchesters, revolvers (all different kinds of the last two)
In my playthrough laser muskets where phased out sometime in the 2230s for something more suited to the environment of the commonweal. Plus there are a ton of national guard locations. I could see the minutemen grabbing hold of tons and tons of r91assault rifles, thompson smg's, and m1 garands as well as the parts and such for them. however some minutemen got the idea of taken broken m1's and cobbling them together to form the lasgarand, a semi-automatic laser rifle that can hold its own and sometimes surpass the pre-war aer-9. This very rifle would serve as the backbone of the minutemen from the 2240s till around the 2320s.
When I first played Fallout 4 I had assumed that the Commonwealth was just post-apocalyptic and destroyed from the bombs and years of scavenging. I never realized just how developed the Commonwealth became post-war. Basically most of the Commonwealth was developed and run like Diamond-city, very close to Shady Sands in terms of growth. The Gunner War really destroyed everything and let Super Mutants, raiders, and the rest pretty much decimate the city. By how quickly you rebuild the Minutemen and the wasteland in this game, it's pretty obvious the Minutemen are (were) being set up to be a rival power to the NCR on the East Coast. Now that the TV-show has crushed that prospect I'm wondering if the new Brotherhood-Caesar-NCR State that's being teased will reach the same level and come to blows with the Minutemen later or if Bethesda will try to destroy one to retain that "Post-Apocalyptic Feel" and halt any progression so they can keep the atmosphere the same as all the other games.
0:24 'Minutemen' has never been considered 'Regulars'. the 'Regulars' were different units entirely. (and superior) Historically the Continental Army Regulars were actually Prussian Army of the North America. they were under central government. Minutemen were organized as townships.
This isn't a historical video on the colonial minutemen and the reason they're referred to as "regulars" is because they are professional full time soldiers.
I will never forgive Bethesda for creating one of the coolest factions in concept ever and leaving them in the dust WHY BETHESDA YOU COULD HAVE US CREATE A SECOND NCR
@@jacksonmadero5416 Eventually I want to make one for all the major FO4 factions so the Institute will be getting its own video at some point in the future. Though I can't really say when since I'm currently working on other projects at the moment.

This was awesome. As someone who picks the Minutemen in Fallout 4 and the NCR in New Vegas I like to wonder if there would ever be an NCR-Minutemen War.
They'd both be called NCR amusingly enough. The New California Republic, and the New Commonwealth Republic.
@@kylegivens3120 that Is rather funny
I don't think this two would be at war unless the successor of Preston and sole survivor will be like kembail, both has kind of imperialistic ideals but both are democratic and highly inspired by pre war America and it's culture. Maybe not unficate like one country but be friends for sure
I like the thought of the Minutemen becoming a east coast NCR type of state
I think it wouldn't be NCR, more of something Ulysses saw in a devide before courier failed intelligence check with enclave nukes remote:
Federative state with autonomous settlements and cites. Maybe they'll become more organised as time passes cuz that's what is need to make competitive state, but still in their core very federative country
awesome, love to see the minutemen in action, i like the evolution they go thru in this video, well done.
Yk, mods really make the minutemen more fun and interesting. Also loved how you did it like uniform evolution in a armchair historian style video
In my headcannon I struggle with the minutemens main issued rifle. I like your use of the M1 garand because I can imagine the minutemen just found stores of CMP rifles.
exactly the type of content i was looking for. glad to have found your channel
This video is very underrated. Makes me want a mod that adds these specific combinations of clothing.
Nice job man, I very much enjoyed this 👍
I want to see a powerful minute men and the NCR crass eachother, I could 100% imagine the ncr making up something reason just to go to war.
This is some high quality stuff right here. Good job!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed
God bless minutemen.
For the United Commonwealths of new Amerika.
Keep up the great minutemen videos.
Legend says that those men in the castle has been doing pushups for more than a decade.
Why didn't I discover this video earlier? It was even on my birthday. Damn TH-cam algorithm.
I like when people make their own lore like this
This is oddly fitting as there is no way the minutemen aren't expansionists, well at least till their is never another settlement that needs your help.
Minutemen from the start always fighting from the heart
I absolutely love the Minutemen but all of my headcanon for them keeps the Laser Musket. Game balance aside, it is hands down the greatest weapon ever. It requires no ammunition, which lightens the logistics load, and can be charged up enough to knock deathclaws and super mutants on their ass in only a couple hits.
We went from the revolutionary war to Vietnam.
Keep Calm
The Castle Remains
The General Lives
God Protects The Minutemen
There is much to be done
Nice to see someone else who loves the minutemen
Minutemen Uniform Evolution, but they take oven Institute instead of destroying it (It's an exosuit!!)
The real heros of Fallout
Glad that I managed to make a mod that you enjoyed
Which one is that?
I made the addons mod for militarized minutemen
@@zachtan oh cool. I love the design of the patches. Used them as inspiration for the designs I made for some of my other videos.
Why does this give me General Dave vibes?
In order to be more Lore accurate, each iteration should be spaced out in centuries rather then realistic decades. Because everyone in fallout is written so insanely stupid and backwards nowadays.
I'm not from the U.S, but DAMN, the Minuteman, both historical and Fallout's looks so epic
Preston, my friend, We did it. Together we revived minutemens. You hear me ? Preston....
In my Discord RP, My Minutemen use Modern Kevlar kit and an assortment of rifles, mostly 5.56, Some troops get access to T-60 series Power Armor.
Where is the minutemen uniform ?
i need to see the Commonwealth-Brotherhood war
Ik that reference if you guys know channel Armchair Historian this one is a reference from Uniform past and present
This is some good lore right here
Bro this is so cool, love fallout alt hist/speculative future stuff
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you enjoy this stuff then you might enjoy some of the more story orientated stuff that explores the lore I've built up.
@@doubtitt Watched them, good stuff!
I own a laser musket for home defense
Just like founding father Nate said
Big fan of this speculative universe idea, I'd love to play around with it in my own game, any chance you'd be willing to drop a full mod list from your videos?
If you get these mods then you pretty much got all you need to recreate these uniforms:
For Clothing:
- We Are The Minutemen
- Militarized Minutemen
- Combat Armor Vests Non-replacer
- Classic Army Helmet and Field Caps
- Army Fatigues Simple improvements
- Classic Combat Armor
-Wearable Backpacks and Pouches
For Weapons:
- M1 Garand - A WWII Classic
- Rifles Rebirth

@@Geshiko-GuP Thanks, new videos coming soon. Hope you'll continue to enjoy.
"UNITED WE STAND! "
Always thought using the minutemen to try a second go of forming the CPG would have been cool.
After 2323, They're all NCR uniforms but blue
Amazing work!
I feel the NCR's got the whole 70's American army vibe. The Minutemen rock the steampunk vibe!
Thank God for mods 🙏
Minutemen and Railroad make for a better, peaceful tomorrow:)
Bro thats just an awesome material for some non-canon funmade mod or another creation
Esto es una obra de arte

Another settlement needs your help
This style of story telling reminds me of nexbil telling of the minutemen
Wasteland 3 music in this vid? Hell yeah I am washed in the blood of the lamb.
The game become extremelly imersive once you get to the castle and can use the general clotches
This is cool but I can barely see the uniforms somtimes it’s just straight up in the shade and can’t make out the silhouette
God bless the Enclave and God bless the minutemen
You've forgotten the 1700s minutemen.
2:00 I see someone's played Wasteland 3! Glory to the Rangers!
Bro I can't hear that song anymore with out thinking of gorge Washington with a fat ass walking around
Awesome video!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed.
When commonwealth army?
Really love this type of content. Great Job
Btw what mod did you use for the vest on the 2nd minutemen from the left in the Thumbnail?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed.
The mod I used:
Combat Armor Vests Non-replacer
www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5539
Have you ever heard of the TH-camr Nexbil?
Yeah, I've seen some of his videos.
@@doubtitt nice
0:24 'Minutemen' has never been considered 'Regulars'. the 'Regulars' were different units entirely. (and superior)
Historically the Continental Army Regulars were actually Prussian Army of the North America. they were under central government. Minutemen were organized as townships.
This isn't a historical video on the colonial minutemen and the reason they're referred to as "regulars" is because they are professional full time soldiers.
I will never forgive Bethesda for creating one of the coolest factions in concept ever and leaving them in the dust
WHY BETHESDA
YOU COULD HAVE US CREATE A SECOND NCR
2:41
What is this uniform? Has to be my favorite (very post apocalyptic).
I think that's from the WATM mod. It's the colonial duster that preston uses. Also added a gas mask and a blue army helmet.
@@doubtitt
1:31
Is this from WATM too? Can’t seem to find it, last question I swear lmao.
@@Wanderer21766 No, that's from Faction Field Outfits. The helmet is from classic army helmets and the mask from Metro Gas Mask.
@@doubtitt
Ah, gotcha.
Thanks.
😢 didn't even bother put the full minutemen outfits on
still prefer the Brotherhood. but dam they look good!!
This is wonderful
I thought this was going to include the real life minutemen too
I think they are separate from each other. They're not supposed to be direct descendants of the colonial Minutemen. Just inspired by them.

Super cool video.
Getting some Armchair Historian vibes here.
Yeah, the Armchair Historian Uniform videos are what inspired this video.
What is that outfit and weapon the minuteman scout wearing during the battle of nuka world 1:45
Minuteman Outfit and Minuteman Bag from We Are The Minutemen and I believe the hat is the Cav hat from Militarized Minutemen. The weapon is an M1 Garand from the M1 Garand Mod on nexus.
Wait. There is a timeline like this? Why institute, brotherhood, and nuka world war is happening at the same time in my run through? What?
This is alternate timeline stuff. None of it is cannon.
Did you get those minutmen outfits through mods
Yes, most of the equipment is from mods. I just put the outfits together.
Minutemen-Brotherhood war ? i need context plz
Tensions reach their boiling point and the two go to war over control of NY City.
@@doubtitt thanks for explaining that
@@doubtitti can imagine 85 years old elder Maxon saying with shaking , old man voice something like: "i should have crushed them when i had a chance, the lesson is learnt, no half measures with civilians "
How did the Minutemen - Brotherhood war end?
Commonwealth Victory
You should have the NPCs shoot a bit, and maybe run, or crouch. If you can. I actually dont really know.
It would be too difficult. The AI is too unpredictable to make it work. I tried to do something similar with having frozen actors in the background, but I didn't do it for all to keep things short and simple.
@@doubtitt could you try it with a player and simply alter the position of the third person camera?
Wouldn't be possible because the player is the one walking. The only way it could be done is by filming them separately and then try to add the player in during the editing. However, then that causes issues because the lighting for the player and the background would be off.
So it's possible, but very time consuming and probably a bit above my skill level at the moment.
@@doubtitt right fair enough.
