As a chemistry person myself, I truly appreciate and enjoyed the information that you shared. Finally, I learnt the scientific basis for how sunscreens work.

Science (I wish you could have taught my chem classes), comedy, and sun screen presented by a brilliant woman...you are my internet best friend (it is a one sided friendship). I love your reviews! I am an organic sunscreen lover myself but I wanted to know the hype about mineral sunscreen. Thank you!

Thanks for coming back. This was right on time. I think my skin is sensitive to chemical filters or at least some older filters that are still common in a lot of chemical formulas. So I want to retry mineral sunscreens to see if they are more tolerable. I don't mind whitecast as long as it light. And prefer something not too drying (I know there are a lot of matte chemical formulas).

I think I've got some mineral sunscreens that will be just what you're looking for! Going to get that video out by the end of the month at the latest.

uh yeah 14:30 explains why some mineral sunscreens 'gather' in fine lines O.o
i guess that is an instance where cosmetically elegant ande better sunprotection goes hand in hand.
Fyi i will definatly need to rewatch this informationpacked beauty

So a video like that is definitely something I want to do, though it'll probably be awhile before I get to it (all the research...) but it's a great topic! If you're looking for a quick recommendation or two, super oxide dismutase is a genuinely great antioxidant. So are fullerenes. They're like, the antioxidant's antioxidant. I use the Ordinary's EUK solution (a superoxide dismutase mimic) and have for years- I do think it helps with my hyperpigmentation issues. Thank you so much for sticking with me!

If i doubble the recomended amount of mineral sunscreen will i get a higher spf?
I heard that's the case with chemical sunscreens but i don't know if that is the case since you mentioned you can max get an spf of 50-60 and a uva/pf-rating of 20.
I usually apply a chemical sunscreen very generously but i am considering switching to a mineral one since my eyes get sooo irritated. (if i aplly powder to set the chemical sunscreen it takes a minimal amount of moisture for the affect to stop working and my eyes to start bawling + i feel like the powder adds like 15 years to my eyes. also a really matte finnish around the eyes means it looks weird unless a mattefy the rest of my skin at least a fair bit :/....i currently use the evy sunscreen)

I don't think there's much evidence that you'll get double the effect, but a double layer would probably make the protection last longer, since there'd be more of it on your skin to rub away due to friction, the skin's natural oils, etc. And that would definitely be beneficial. I'd also consider getting a mineral sunscreen (maybe even one of the stick versions) for use around the eyes if you'd prefer a stronger, chemical sunscreen on the rest of your face.

@@rissyreviews thanks the spf lasting longer makes sense :) I think i will try looking into mineral sticks!
