I thought Maria was lying about hitchhiking to reassure her family that everything was fine, when in fact it wasn't. I like the idea of Johnny sabotaging the car, because Cook always complains about him messing around with girls, showing that he becomes obsessed with these young women and sometimes gets the family into trouble because of it.
I think Johnny saw Maria and became infatuated with her... until Nancy caught wind. Or something like that. Johnny kept the missing person flyer just to have a photo of her. And Nancy's backyard is clearly Johnny's playground, so he's DEFINITELY a car guy. Whatever Maria's story ends up being, it will involve Johnny and Nancy. Probably Nancy luring her to her house to take pics of her beautiful garden unsuspectedly

@@schooldude1000 Well They said she is the Final Victim compared to Sally I don’t know what happened to Ana, as the Final victim in my perspective after she saw everyone including Danny who died she might’ve found Maria’s Body. Which came to a Shock to her which she promises to come back to get help but I think Jhonny caught up to her and killed her and probably after he killed Ana he might’ve instead of preserving her body like Maria he might’ve took in her to devils river which was mention on the radio 📻 and By Nancy.
@schooldude1000 she was the first to survive the family house, meaning if they were brought to the slaughterhouse or Nancy's house there's a chance allbeit super small chance that someone could've made it out.

Despite what has been confirmed in the lore, because anything is possible in the video game universe, Maria could very well be alive and be hiding. Something tells me the movie may not be canon if they decide to flip the switch and go into a different direction.
I’m not sure because there are interactions and voicelines in game if you’re playing as Ana where she’ll find a corpse in one of the maps (I believe it’s family house) and she’ll say something along the lines of “Maria is that you?” or “Oh Maria” or something like that. She said it once when i was looking at a fucking sack of meat so i think it was bugged but im not sure😭 she could very well be alive

For example, Why does Nancy have such animosity with Sissy and Cook? Who are the identity’s of Leatherface’s masks? Which member of the family owns the Slaughterhouse? Etc etc

Let’s remember for part 4 at the beginning of maria’s trip it started with her already leaving U.T. to go on the photography trip to which danny who was supposed to accompany her but she told danny she prefer going by herself for a couple days an so she left the campus an now the city of Austin to which she had a map in her glove department that she already have where to go.

Also, I don't know where you live but I live maybe 45 minutes away from the original gas station. It's a really cool place to go to, they serve BBQ (because of course they do lol) and its a memorabilia shop for horror merch. The van is also parked out back.

Yeah Sally Hardesty from the first movie was the first person to survive The Family. I wish Ana had at least survived though.
