This was played straight without a trace of tongue-in-cheek humor, yet never once do you want to snicker. You really do feel as though the ventriloquist's heart is breaking. A fine performance by Claude Rains.
Claude Rains, a fine actor especially enjoyed him with Betty Davis, in Mrs. Skeffington, truly a wonderful movie. So sad today the movie industry is lacking in the greatness that was once in the making of the movies of years gone by. The uniqueness of the actors and actresses, their is none today. It's all trash, violence and vulgarity. Thank God for reruns on utube.
Always liked Claude Rains. There was a film festival years ago, and I think Rains' daughter was in the audience. When he appeared onscreen, the audience erupted in applause. She said it was so gratifying to see how people remembered, and loved her father..
This one was sad to me, that someone's mind can get that bad. And of course they don't even realize or understand that they are not in their right mind anymore.
The great Claude Rains, dramas with Bette Davis, a star in Casablanca, Ceasar to Vi Leigh's Cleopatra, the Invisible Man & Phantom of the Opera, to Lawrence of America from the Sheriff of Nottingham (Robin Hood) - one of the very few masters who NEVER gave a bad performance.
What a tempered performance! If anybody other than Claude Rains had played this role, it would have come out too syrupy, maudlin, and just plain unbelievable. The quality of his acting is extraordinary for a mere TV show like the Hitchcock series.🤠
-Ray Bradbury had a half hour TV show(The Ray Bradbury Theater) of 26 total episodes. Each week in color that showed this same episode as Alfred Hitchcock but a little bit better. (And so died Riabouchinska).Based on an original story and written by Ray Bradbury. Staring Alan Bates as Fabian also staring Jean-Pierre Kalfon & Patti Layne.
OMG Your comment is exactly what l was going to say. 🤣 what a luxury this is. Has Claude Raines been overtaken by anyone as being _the best actor of all time?_ one wonders 🤔
Ah Claude was always good. I'm sure he was the one that made the following saying famous..." round up the usual suspects". And Charles, yes, he made a big name for himself later.
Claude Rains he was something.....Never seen a bad film....Charles Bronson... Brilliant....Keep your TV.....👍We might get Betty Davies next... Thankyou for video 🌹
For Full Episodes find Public Domain TV on TH-cam. These shortened version Keep the Important Scenes & Cut Intros & End Credits. Raines & Bronson are great.
Great episode from Alfred Hitchcock ! I have an interest in ventriloquism and I'd like to get into building ventriloquist figures. Does anyone happen to know who built Riabuchinska ? I was thinking maybe Frank Marshall could've possible been the builder....I know he was a top figure builder back in the day during the 1950's, I do know he was based here in Chicago. I hope someone can help me with this info. TIA 💪🏾
Claude Reins and Charles Bronson,.. incredible acting. Hitchcock used Claude before as a priest. He was great then also. I've seen several Bronson shows at this age. He was destined to be great
east side Why, he was so hot when he was younger! Who am I kidding, he was hot when he was old! So you think that Charles Bronson would really want this deleted and not any of the sequels to Death Wish? That’s coming from a hard-core Bronson fan. It’s like Sylvester Stallone beat Rocky to death. It’s like Bruce Willis with Die Hard seriously, how hard can you die? 😂🤣😂 Have a nice day. 😊
catalina de la cruz thank you. I think Claude Raines was in several Hitchcock episodes. Charles Bronson held his own with Raines in one of the better episodes in the series.
IM NO PSYCHIATRIST BUT I THINK IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT RIABOCHINSKA IS FEBIAN'S CONSCIENCE HIS GUILT (AND TRULY LAST VESTIGE OF SANITY REMAINING IN HIS LOST MIND) PERSONIFIED

This episode is very strange
One of THE MOST diverse, classical actors of all time. 👏👏👏 Never miss a CR movie. Never disappointed.
A great actor!! I loved him in another Hitchcock gem which is Notorious with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman
Is that Charles Bronson? Yeah, it is! He was so young. That’s why I love these old shows; you can see the beginnings of actors you love.
He was pretty handsome, wasn't he?
Don't forget Claude Raines. He was a great actor and the voice of The Invisible Man ,a 1940s horror movie. It's probably on U Tube.
@@paulinebuckles2310 agree
Right you know the voice
Love Claude in all his roles. His characters are so loveable.
I've always wondered if that doll is still around. What a collector's item it would make!
Captivated by Claude Rains performance in this... Great job.
OMG!!! Think this is one of the best Hitchcock ever!!!!
Creepy dolls are my favorite subjects.
I love the contrast between the mad romantic Raines and the hard-headed, no BS Bronson. Great scenes!
Riabochinska is a beautiful doll indeed!
Whoever made her was truly talented. I'm not sure but I think she does not exist anymore. Hope I'm wrong.
Wow, this was a chilling story, I felt so sad for the Raines character xoxo
This one was sad to me, that someone's mind can get that bad. And of course they don't even realize or understand that they are not in their right mind anymore.
I thought it was sad too.
Please don't bring politics into this. I'm sure Biden is quite confident in doing his job.
Claude Rains is SUPERB
Claude Rains was the master... his voice his tone, his composure... pur magic...
A convincing performance by Claude Rains, and the mannerisms of the puppet.
Claude Raines is an awesome actor. I love his movies. Charles Bronson too love them both
Wow. Both of these incredible actors in one film!!
The comments always talk about how great the acting was in these old shows.
Ric Marzano I couldn’t have said it better myself!
Love Claude Reins a fantastic actor. He was great with Bette Davis.
This is a masterpiece
Charles Bronson!! Always loved this guy. Great actor..❤️
I really enjoy these "shorts." Basically, the entire plot has been condensed into half the time...
Wow this was one of the best shorties out of them all claude raines and a young C Bronson
thx for uploading
So the Ventriloquist has two personalities. The second personality talk through the doll
Claude Rains is amazing as Fabian the Ventriloquist! Outstanding performance!
Wow. Ray Bradbury helped write this. I had no idea. It IS very Bradbury.
Claude Rains and Charles Bronson....two of my all-time favorites! Thank you for sharing this.… love it!
jeanne hageman
Me too but for different reasons ha ha Ha ☺️😳🙄🤦🏻♀️
Charles Bronson also appeared in movie "The House of Wax" with Vincent Price.
Bronson plays in three episodes of Alfred Hitchcock presents
The Twilight Zone too, with Elizabeth Montgomery
Claude Rains + Charles Bronson ….couldn’t ask for more ❤
I think the point of these: "shortvies" is you can watch a whole: "movie" in your tea break: great idea.
Yes, I like 'em short n sweet!
💋I agree they are like trailers if u like it u watch the hole thing🎬. With Alfred I like them all.I 🌟
Quibi lost $2 billion thinking this was a good idea
Don't know if I ever saw Charles Bronson in his younger days.
I love that doll!
Thank you miss those great actors, great short flick❤😘
wow love charles b. I love old shows omg JUst love it thank you
One of my favorites from the series.
2 stars--CLAUDE RAINES MY FAVORITE----so remembered
Superb acting first class from ANN
What a tempered performance! If anybody other than Claude Rains had played this role, it would have come out too syrupy, maudlin, and just plain unbelievable. The quality of his acting is extraordinary for a mere TV show like the Hitchcock series.🤠
I guess this is how some people did breakups and such before texting

Wow! Ray Bradbury had a show I would love to see that.
Love Hitchcock....thank you🎥❤️🇺🇸✨
Claude Raines👍👍👍and Charles Bronson👍👍👍
OMG Your comment is exactly what l was going to say. 🤣 what a luxury this is. Has Claude Raines been overtaken by anyone as being _the best actor of all time?_ one wonders 🤔
The greatest 2 actors on a film working together, freakin' awesome!!!!
I love Hitchcock
Ah Claude was always good. I'm sure he was the one that made the following saying famous..." round up the usual suspects". And Charles, yes, he made a big name for himself later.
His acting along with his phrasing and diction is impeccable and moving.
you know charles b has perfect lips omg
Claude Rains such a great actor. I liked him with Bette Davis
Now Voyager....👍
Claude Rains he was something.....Never seen a bad film....Charles Bronson... Brilliant....Keep your TV.....👍We might get Betty Davies next... Thankyou for video 🌹
Charles Bronson sure was a looker
For Full Episodes find Public Domain TV on TH-cam. These shortened version Keep the Important Scenes & Cut Intros & End Credits. Raines & Bronson are great.
Great actors in a great piece of Hitchcock.😊
Thanks for sharing 💜🖤
Best show
Why are these all half-shows?!
Excellent!
I just recognized Charles Bronson too, Irish and Mexican like Martin Sheen.

CLAUDE RAINS REALLY TUGS AT ALL THE EMOTIONS IN THIS PERFORMANCE ESPECIALLY AT THE HEART YOU FEEL SORRY FOR HIM
Was Charles Bronson ever young.
Marland Kennedy
Right???!!!! Lol 😂
RIP Paul Kersey the 👑 of “Death Wish”
No. He came out looking that way!
Yeah he crazy as HELL>....LOL
Charles Bronson the Giant and incredible, the real Hero...
This is much, much better than Ray Bradbury theatre. Almost original story.
Wow, burnt her whole wardrobe? Now that's cold
I Lay In The Box & Listen😲
Where are the full episodes?
I'd like to see them, too.
How come when it comes in they are in the middle of a sentence ? Its crazy!
Perfect kit voice perfect kit
So he use a doll to confess his crime smh
Doll looks like Jean Simmons
Dang, dat man, he nuttier than 2 jars o peanut butter!!!
When actors were strong on their own....not green screens!
They use green screens to show certain action scenes or whatever. It don't have anything to do with whether the actress or actor could act or not.
The human mind is a fragile work of art.
That was sad.
Claude Reins and Charles Bronson,.. incredible acting. Hitchcock used Claude before as a priest. He was great then also. I've seen several Bronson shows at this age. He was destined to be great
insane worked back then
( fanning self). Chuckie Bronson 😉
Such excellent actors ❤
Dod we miss the first part?
For a moment I thought this was Charles Bronson's TV show called
Man with a Camera
The man has some diffidently emotional problems.
Interesting/entertaining. A talented acting pair-!!!😉.
Love you hawkins
Creepy...
Originally a story by the great Ray Bradbury.
The Chef Jacques Pipan looks like Claude Rains.
Broken heart syndrome
Positive Charles Bronson wanted this clip on him deleted

Have a nice day. 😊
Definitely not. He had three appearances on Alfred Hitchcock presents
The poor doll swallowed termites and took the easy way out
How creepy
Episódios reduzido à metade. Por que não os apresentar completos? Esses episódios nunca tiveram apenas 10 ou 12 minutos. Estão pela metade aqui.
Who was the actress who provided the puppet’s voice?
Steven Bosch Virginia Gregg I believe
catalina de la cruz thank you. I think Claude Raines was in several Hitchcock episodes. Charles Bronson held his own with Raines in one of the better episodes in the series.
I bought new wood
Larry Rubin 😂🤣🤐
IM NO PSYCHIATRIST BUT I THINK IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT RIABOCHINSKA IS FEBIAN'S CONSCIENCE HIS GUILT (AND TRULY LAST VESTIGE OF SANITY REMAINING IN HIS LOST MIND) PERSONIFIED
ya think?
@@plasticweapon Upon reading the comment, I said the very same thing, you said, lol!
WOW A YOUNG CHARLES BRONSON!! 👍👍 BEFORE THE DEATH WISHES.
It's like lonely or troubled males today with their blow up dolls. Some of them are genuinely sad cases, not sleazy like I used to think.
creepy lol
Charles Brunson as a young man
THE GREAT CLAUDE RAINS.
Charles Bronson long long time before he filled his socks with coins ❤️😍
Claude Reigns 💯
