At an art gallery, Mark is surprised when the art dealer hands over a portrait of Mark's first wife instead of the painting he'd originally purchased.
Season 6 "Portrait Of Jocelyn" Dir by Robert Stevens
Four years ago Jocelyn, the first wife of Mark Halliday mysteriously disappeared. Mark has since remarried. One day, he he discovers a painting of a woman that looks exactly like his vanished former wife. He traces the painting to a man named Arthur Clymer who claims that Jocelyn posed for him and that she is still alive. Mark says that he is wrong. He confesses to having murdered his wife. This, however, is exactly what Clymer and Jocelyn's still-grieving brother wanted to hear. They created this scheme to get Mark to confess and send him to prison.

He lives pretty close to the ocean.
I guess that's what makes the movie so intriguing.
I want champagne and tough roast now
Very overcooked 😂
Me too, while wearing a shirtwaist dress and heels
That meat was tough 😂
At 4:45 the thought of Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman playing these rolls in a VERY melodramatic way is pictured. Perhaps not this episode, but in some episode Carol and Harvey did their fun version. The twist at the end was sooooooooooo fast that my head is S P I N I N G!
Oh I remember that one!! With carol...so hilarious
I always enjoy seeing John Baragrey on these old t.v. shows. I only wish he'd starred in major films.
I really appreciate these condensed versions! Like Readers Digest books!😁
Love these 10 minute shows. Gets to the meat of the movie without all of the useless info.
Me too.
@@peasblossom1973 ... huh? All of the "useless info" serves as a build up. Personally, I like the whole cut and not just a small slice.
@Vermilion Pill lol
I've been impatient since I was a child. Ten minutes are enough for me.
you can just read the title of the episode. It will save you from all the useless info.
Man this josslyn chick needs a song written about her at this level of obsession
E
Is this some sort of sarcastic tongue in cheek reference that I'm missing?
No more love songs
Joycelyn favorite flowers!!!

HE NEEDED A CHAINSAW TO CUT THAT FRIGGIN MEAT
😂
The way I like it. Lol.
😂
@mm devolange LOL
😅😂🤣 I thought the same thing! Omg, so funny 😂
Bet your left arm @ 9:33 that this guy inspired al pacino 👍🏾 when he shouted "WHERE IS SHE?!" 😆😉
My Momma always said, “Don’t bet money or body parts.”
You're Mom is a smart lady @@teacherlynn671😊 that's why I only bet by golly wows 😂😘
Im going to buy all the hitchcoks cds. This person only shows things in parts lol
There are loads of people on these channel's videos angrily demanding that the channel post full videos- it was getting tiring. Thank you for being (what I think is) the very first one to say the reason *why* they are short teaser clips - lol (no this is not my channel - heh!)
@@anyviolet I think they are short and have alternative titles so the Video Police won't find them. We really shouldn't complain. Cheers !
@@anyviolet there were 1 hour long shows and 30 min shows, I think these are the 30 min. shows without commercials, amd the monologue that Alfred Hitchcock did before and after.
Poooor Joslynn - Born at a time when Alfred made killing a wife so fashionable, every man would think along those lines sometime - !? I like these short Alfred Hitchcock Presentations better. Some better than others, but nice enough every time.
He seems to have had a complicated relationship with women, especially blonds. I read a biography of him a few years ago
FYI, the description for this video has it wrong when it says season 6 for this episode -- it's from season 1, in 1956.
Good one
Great old movies to updated today!!😉😁
I'd hate to have that kind of husband. Wife is clearly frightened, but hubby is not at all comforting. But that's what happens if he doesn't really love you.
The actor at 5:41 is also in another Hitchcock Presents episode, "One For The Road".
Why are people calling Hitchcock Presents a movie? It's a TV show. Not a movie.
Who cares?
Best show
Sorry for the second wife though
Thank You!

Maybe she’s not at Shellharbour, instead she might be at Wollongong or Dapto?
By the way, did that detective say ‘lavatory report’ towards the end?
As a flight attendant✈️... That's what I heard him say too!!!!😆😆😆
11:40 - Mr Clydesdale. The banker on Beverly Hillbillies.
I know, lol... He was the last person I expected to see at the other end of the gun. 😂
He looked familiar
Drysdale. Clydesdale is a type of horse.
Lol!!! Clydesdale!!! I knew who you meant!
@@peasblossom1973, who the hell is "Clyde"?! Didn't see his name in the credits?!
Reminds me of "Laura"
This reminds me a little bit of Rebecca with Jeremy BRETT so I guess the first Rebecca with sir Laurence Olivier and there must have been a third Rebecca I'm sure somewhere else along the way and it's kind of odd because when I got married at 18 to a much older man he had something like this in his past and I felt like the young girl but he had a Rebecca as a first wife and I was the little mouse that came in years later so this does remind me of the movie Rebecca and if you haven't seen it you should see it
Sharon Marinucci funny enough I watched it tonigh.always loved that movie.
Totally rebecca
A bit like -'Rebecca'-isn't it?
meena b
Yes 😁
Also directed by Hitchcock
You'd thought she come down these stairs!
I did!!
Ok, this one was ridiculous . Mr Drysdale is that you????
That's what I thought, too. Raymond Baily.
Good episode.
I wish they would just show whole episodes of AH presents, instead of half. Oh but I guess you have to play for that.
Interesting & entertaining.
Never trust when things go wrong
Yea dont eat dnner dont clear the dishes..go pack your things and will go out to Shell Harbor right now. Dont blow out the candles either.
Yes, and when they get back home there'll be flies and maggots all over the table...
Don't they all have housekeepers
HEY, MR. DRYSDALE
This comes across as a take-off crib sheet for the plot of "Rebecca".
I agree, that's exactly what I thought.
11:18 that fight tho. 😑🤨
''mark!mark get up." 🙄
ME: yes stop embarassing yourself
Why was the Police inspector apologizing to the murderer? That was weird.
Because the boys club was very alive and women were disposable items, feeble and neurotic.
No it is not Patricia Hitchock, she looks like her though
Cecile V you are right that is not Patricia Hitchcock her name is Nancy Gates September 18 , 2019
Why do u only upload clips??? Can ubpkease upload the WHOLE EPISODE??
lilies flower not long ago it was possible to watch full episodes including Hitchcock's great introductions.
You can always subscribe to Hulu. Someone claimed the full episodes are on there.
are these excerpts from full movies?
They are in halves. The other half is on here somewhere. They are half hour TV shows.
This reminds me of REBECCA
Oh no the Wilming Cottage
G👀d one!
“Mr. Drysdale”
Okay who put that there?
Joclyn!! We have company!!olol
WHY NOT THE WHOLE SHOW??????????
Edited with Alternative Titles so the Video Police don't take down the website. we shouldn't complain. Cheers !
This poster offers the show in a short version...you can find full length Hitchcocks on another feed. The Alfred Hitchcock hour
Such a grouchy husband
All the men are so cranky in these bits. Lol.
Miserable and psychotic
I don’t understand how he didn’t know he killed her, then all of a sudden he knew. This one is off
Klimer is a good guy my mistake.
Who is the guy with the gun?
Why is everything edited?
Edited & Alternative Titles so the Video Police don't take down the website. We shouldn't complain. Cheers !
Well at least eat your Roast Beef Dinner first!
I thought the same thing!!! LOL messed up priorities
Police were different back then
❤👍👍👍👍👍
Mr. Drysdale! What are you foing here.
If you rewatch the episode (with the knowledge that Mark killed his wife) you realize that his behavior is not particularly believable.
He killed her with his own hands and then buried her in the ground. Therefore, he knows that Jocelyn could not possibly have moved to Europe and written a letter to her brother, and he knows Arthur is lying to him about being married to her. And yet instead of scoffing at these obvious lies, he reacts as if he takes these claims seriously. Does he think that she rose from the grave?
I get that it was written this way to achieve maximum surprise for the audience when it's revealed that Mark killed her, but unfortunately it means that the story does not hold up to analysis or a second viewing. I consider this episode to be mediocre.
dont you think that you give away the plot? Cant you write down that this comment of yours is a SPOILER ALERT?
@@thiseasathens No, unfortunately I can't.
@@thiseasathens personally l like spoilers. I like to know where a story is going before I invest the time.
I agree. Doesn't hold up, story-wise, though it may have been more fleshed-out in the longer, unedited version.
Who Doggy is that Mr Drysdale? Too cold for the cement pond.
Look at Mr. Drysdale.
$10 a day!
Shades of Rebecca.
The lady was Hitchcock's daughter.
Yep...Pat Hitchcock!
@@williewoodall8305 nope not Pat Hitchcock 😉 the lady's name is Nancy Gates September 17 , 2019
Ram Kaylan -- the lady in this episode is not Pat Hitchcock. 😎 even though they do favor one another the lady"s name is Nancy Gates September 17 ,2019
@@sheiladavis6523 They look so much alike, that's crazy! Thank you for the input... Isn't she in the episode, when her mother disappears in a French hotel?
@@williewoodall8305 you are more than welcome & you are right about that episode - her mother being in a French motel I saw it too but I can't remember what happen to her mother in that episode. Wille can you remember what happened to mother dear ? also there was an episode where Pat played a school teacher & some crazed man was hiding in the school's bell tower I think Pat might had play in 1 or 2 more espiode of her Daddy's show 😉 September 23,2019
Lol, The Wilmon Cottage was where he lived with his 1st wife,..who deceased. Go figure. 😆 🤣 😂
This fool done killed his own wife,..smh
Cute
The likeness of his first wife in the living room was a bust.
Impossible to watch, it is so heavily edited.
Then go away and quit complaining. Thank you down loader, many people appreciate your work.
Cut the story telling out of the story. The stuff that makes the story as well as in this case how the circumstances arose. Yes it could have been a good story.
Mr. Drysdale always looks the same
The hillbillies was his 1st comedy
Klimer is cruel
Detective. Just the facts, ma'am.

The audacity of you splitting and self-editing of the episodes is a complete disrespectful to the loyal fans who have enjoyed Hitchcock's wonderful offerings for ages! I'm now "unsubscribed",
Bye mr persnickety🖐
Oh my... we get so worked up over something that is FREE. And someone was kind enough to post for your viewing pleasure. Go buy yourself the episode then... and quit whining about the FREE ... geez....
Michael wertzy.. I totally agree with you, Hitchcock was the master of intrigue and building up study of the character . Cutting out integral dialogue is very disrespectful not only to Hitchcock and older fans - but to new fans as well .
Sadly, I must unsubscribe as well. If you ever decide to include ALL of the character development, I will happily subscribe.
Kind Regrards
Yes, please unsubscribe and take the negativity and ungrateful attitude to hell with you
What's with this Rebecca-esque tale.
The hysterical prototypical 1950's American female characters (as described by 1950's "Mad Men" males) are pretty boring. Flat, two-dimensional and scared of their own shadows, lacking any cleverness or subtlety.
Nope
You 5:13 are still in love with her #🤫😂😂😂😂😂Shut up😮 Red Flag #1)🥹Short fuse
