This started with Jessie James on west coast choppers, the reason that people actually do this for purpose is for dealing with wind. It started with people Riding bikes and there hats flying off. The bend allows the air to flow off the hat but not flip it off your head while your riding. I started doing this bc I thought it was cool but then I got a Jeep Wrangler and realized and learned the actual reason. Hats go gone flat buy ducked up it sits tight..

An alternative solution... I ended up with my hat this way just from work... and laundering the hat. People are constantly "complimenting" me on it and it is like 15 years old and been through the washing machine like 100 times... the bill material is the "paperish" type material. The bill is upturned but not stiff in anyway if I lean into a position while working on a car the brim just pushes out of the way. So now I am getting a pretty good run in the back of the hat and trying to source a replacement. Kinda weird how a hat can kinda become part of your personality lol The hat is a new era BUT it is the old school ones that were 55% rayon and the rest wool... I am not sure if a new one will hold up as well as this one did.

Shiz started getting a bit gangsta at exactly around 2:05 into the video. I bought some snapbacks in Korea way back in 2012 and all the cool designs were on the bottom side so I started curing my brims like this and moving back to Vancouver everyone thought I was crazy but I thought it looks rad. how long have people been doing this ive never seen people wear their brims this way.... not saying I may have started a fad.... but I mean..... anythings possible right? haha

if you boil water and hold the brim of the hat over the top the steam makes it easier to fold
