There's a wealth of unused dialogue that suggests characters like Kid Goku would've had story modes. Not sure if you're aware of this tho
i had a glitch, i believe it was one, in tenkaichi 3, where i was playing mr. satan, and my friend was playing a vegeta, and i got one shot by a final flash. it was funny af tho

When I was playing Budokai 3 alot last year I encountered this weird scenario where I would dash attack my opponent while they were performing a move and it would launch them straight downwards to the ground and it would pull me along. I was using teen gohan against a cell jr., and it was a dash kick.
Made the game feel like the transformations were actually making you stronger. Which they were

I played this game for years and only knew 1 or 2 of these things. I sure as hell didn't know ss4 Goku could spam Dragon Fist like that. Makes me wanna get back into B3 again for sure.
The reason why I prefer IW to B3 is because you’re able to know the characters moveset in-game but I’m glad I’m able to enjoy B3 too by using the GH version

What I love about this game is how it spoils you with different storylines from whatever character you choose it gives you a reason to replay them to unlock secret characters
Dragonball Z Budokai 3 was an outstanding game. These “broken” aspects were pretty cool to see. I like how Yamcha got some recognition at 8:38: “But the most broken, by far, is Yamcha.” 😊
Still got my vanilla copies of Budokai 1, 2, and 3, as well as the memory card that has all the save data for all three games on it. Fantastic game series like no other.

Still got my ps2 and all 3 budokai games and the Budokai tenkaichi games and they all still play well
I still have my ps2 from 2001 with all the dbz games and infinite world too. It never gets boring.

Should see it in Infinite World. If you dizzy someone mid juggle with it it’s literally inescapable unless they drop it and you have enough Ki to dodge.
I didn't even know there were those kind of combo/ cancel in budokai 3.

Yeah, I was surprised to see "Cancel Out" on the move list as an attribute. I didn't think that lingo existed until early to mid 2010s
If it came out now people would complain about broken loops and combos.
I knew about the Yamcha shenanigans back in the day, I just thought it was a feature lol

I grew up with the platinum version, that version had the new features, then in 2019 i decided to buy the game again cause my brother sell it a long time ago, the version that came to my house was the vanilla 1.00v and i was surprised, i didn't know the changes until i bought the vanilla version.
Most of the glitches that you showed off, I thought were just features. By the way, I blew my friends mind when I showed him that you could cancel in the budokai series a couple years ago. I remember T.O.D.-ing him with that exact SS4 goku Super Dragon Fist loop.😂 I mostly prefer IW to B3, I didn’t know there were differences between the CE/GH versions, I thought they were the exact same!😳
CE & GH are the same game, the difference is all in the framerate.

im sad they rushed budokai 3 it is a masterpiece and if it was given more time could've been the ultimate staple for all dbz games I read that Freeza was gonna have his stroy mode and breakthrough and many other characters it saddens me that they rushed it when we could've had soo much more
There's basically no point to a Frieza story mode. You can get all character breakthroughs in Budokai 3 you just have to purchase them in the skill shop

I agree. There is nothing wrong with fan service what-if stories. There’s actually tons of audio hidden in the disk for most character’s DU’s that never went used.

That explains why the King Piccolo skin is objectively the worst skin in the game because it’s the only one to my knowledge that extends your hurtbox.

@@Dr._Doppietta hitbox refers to the dimensions in which your character or an opposing chracter can get hit. If the King Piccolo has a bigger hitbox it means he's more likely to get hit. It's a con

Man I really wish I had the greatest hits version now. That broly stuff always made me sad. Could barely do anything with him. Although, the ki gain in dragon fist helped me z3 goku’s story when I was a kid

"Greatest Hits" is just the NTSC-U name used for re-releases of best selling games, basically what we Europeans used to call "Platinum" until the "PlayStation Essentials" name came out.

I had the vanilla B3. I remember reading GFaqs, after the GH version released, but I didn't know there were differences, so I never got it. I was wondering how everyone was able to learn all these cool strings the characters had. Very interesting!

I've been missing out way too long knowing all of them is the same but works totally different so i did had glitches back then where playing Vegeta to become Majin till press transform on him becoming SSJ2

Shin Budokai 2 is often played in the Budokai server, although it's usually the modded version as vanilla is broken lol.

Anyway, IW is mostly a "Budokai 3.5", with various aspects of the game left clearly unfinished (if not outright broken).
I like it, I also like the removal of Hyper Mode and DragonRush, actually.
NIM and I are currently working on DBZ Infinite World mod called *exactly* "Budokai 4", where we fix and complete the things left unfinished in the game.
I suggest you to watch my Budokai 4 trailer. ;)

Back when I was an ameteur fighting game designer I made the regaining ki on physical supers mistake. It's so weird to see that same mistake in a proper game with professional coders.
It's a inside joke in the Budokai community that Budokai devs & programmers were everything bar "professional". lol

The only thing I have noticed in the back days is the memory for the stage. I purchased CE after B3 Vanilla CD was Broken, and I was very sad because the game couldn't recognize the old save data .. I still remember I was stuck in a certain percentage in the shop like 94% .. Some breakthrough didn't appear in the shop. There is one point not sure of it, in B3 vanilla with 20 Ki points you spend 50% less ki (1.5 ki bar) for special moves, while you spend 33% less ki (2 ki Bar) in CE.
As far as I know, special editions are capable of getting your B3 van data back. Idk why yours didn't do that.
Not sure what version it was but i recall kid buu having the same grab > dragon rush effect as 18 here

So what would be the best version to play at 60 fps? and I also remember that in the campaign mode with goku when you fight against frezeer you could change the costumes and against the kid buu battle too, in which version could you do that?
The best version is DBZ B3 CE, 'cause it has all the perks and fixes of the updated version plus its lower framerate closes a lot of gaps mid-string for several chars.
If you can't play CE, then GH it's fine too.

I know that in the vanilla version, in the world tournament stage, where the audience is, it's a cameo of Naruto with brown hair and a green jacket. Maybe its someone who happen to fit the description but i feel its Naruto. (Right after you knock the opponent out the arena, cheering with one arm up, even got a headband)

The Broly string change is odd to me in hindsight after witnessing Z Broly in DBFZ, I thought his deal was doing short combos that deal big damage, which is why he doesn't have a traditional j2H like the rest of the cast.
Back in the days, Broly was just meant to be huge, strong and powerful. I don't think they had a fighting "archetype" in mind when creating the character.

How do you unlock the full in-game movelist that has all the strings for each character? (I currently have 1 completed Goku run in DU and I don't have Breakthrough for Goku yet)
As shown in the video, only the SEs have this feature.

I was thinking about coming back to this ps2 Dbz games, but i want to focus on just one and get the max out of it. You know a lot ot this 2 in-depth, so wich one you think is better and why? Between budokai 3, and infinite world, i always thought infinite workd was just budokai 3 with a couple of extras. Am i wrong? Is Budokai 3 better in some way?
One thing is, i really want to enjoy the story mode for the nostalgia, and the "story" mode of infinite world is kinda silly, budokai 3 had only fights but i think it atmosphere was a lot dbz like, i dont know how to explain it in detail xD
If you just want to enjoy a good story mode, I'd go for B3, but if you really wanna dive deep into the hidden tech and mechanics of the game then I'd say go for IW.
@@Dr._Doppietta Infinite World had a good story mode IMO it was just very different from what Budokai 3 did, it more took inspiration in elements from Budokai 1 (decent quality cutscenes and far more mini-games) and Budokai 2 (the less restricted "boardgame"-map wandering with a tiny Goku). I do agree Budokai 3 had the better concept with far more replayability value, Infinite World is pretty much two worthy playthroughs and no further need to do more (like Budokai 1 and Budokai 2).

One thing that for some reason I've never seen anyone mention about budokai 3 is that, aside from the 4 versions shown in the video, there's actually one more, which is the leaked version, before the game came out there was a leaked version that was pirated a lot and was still unfinished and funnily enough, because I grew up as a poor little boy, all I had in my childhood was this broken version, the main differences I remember is the fucked up aspect ratio that caused the screen to be cropped wrongly on the screen all the time, the dragon arena being completely unfinished and glitched, whenever your character reached around lvl 70 it would become unplayable, the arena would glitch up and you wouldn't be able to fight any more opponents, they wouldn't appear to be selected and the screen would just be blank, and also some shenron wishes literally weren't programmed in the game, like the trunks costume one, so it was impossible to 100% this glitched version, for some reason I've never seen anyone mention this version, but its very much real and I grew up with it, I guess it's just very obscure, wish this channel made a video about it
You prob just had a bad copy of the game, not a different version.
Old PS2 cracked games used to be like that.
@@Dr._Doppietta nope, well actually I'm not entirely sure, the thing is, I've had multiple budokai 3 copies throughout my childhood, multiple of them had these exact characteristics I've mentioned so I know it wasn't one bad copy or anything like that, and the reason why I said it is "the leaked version" it's because I remember searching about this a long long time ago and found a very detailed article in a old website describing this version, even describing the differences and it referenced to it as a "leaked version", and all the weird glitches were exactly the same as the ones I had so I know for a fact it isn't some defective copy, sadly I can't find that article anymore, but maybe it was just some bad ISO rip from the early years of the game's release, which caused the game to be glitched,or it was truly a pre-release leak that was pirated mistakenly, I'll guess I'll try to find more information on this again so I can finally understand it for once, but I'm sure it wasn't an unique experience to me

What's added in the special edition? Is the 3 remaster on ps3 the special edition?
Nothing: HD Collection took everything from GH and only improved shaders, while adding nothing and also removing several things like old OSTs.
Greatest hits for me was the only one I played then HD collection

HD Collection is based on GH edition, so if a bug is present in GH it's also in HD.
