    What I don't understand is how Pakistan is so foolish to allow China to rip them off like that?
    China gives Pakistan loans at secret interest rates.
    China brings its own workers and companies to make the projects.
    Pakistan pays for the workers, the companies and Chinese machinery from the Loan they took.
    How the heck would Pakistan benefit from that whole process? Isn't China just providing its own people employment through indirect means while also drowning Pakistan in debt?

    CPEC and every other Chinese belt and road initiative is of the Chinese, by the Chinese and for the Chinese. Chinese never give a penny in free grant, it is always high-interest debt from the Chinese loan sharks. Due to Covid and geopolitical animosities, the Chinese economy is stagnating and exports are falling, making CPEC even less feasible than before. China is more focused on getting oil and gas via pipelines running through Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries. The inescapable reality is that CPEC corridor is running through the hotbed of Islamic terrorists and disputed Himalayan Kashmir, and thus a big gamble for the Chinese communists, who ideologically hate radical Muslims and visa versa.

    They terrorists killed some Chinese citizens who are in Pakistan building CPEC. Fumed chinese withdrew their citizens and stopped their investments. But Imran Khan assured china and provided protection from their military forces near CPEC works. The Chinese investments were beyond their agreed numbers, and China didn’t mind because it needs Gwadar port so it can skip malacca choke point in the future. This gives Chinese exports and imports not affected even when it starts to invade Taiwan & retake Hong-Kong when British agreement is completed. But investments needs time for returns and even before Pakistan has plunged more into debt and turmoil. The crisis is soo bad the country can’t even afford for its energy requirements, what energy it can provide for if any investments coming? Saudi & Kuwait stopped funding to Pakistan as it can never repay them back. IMF has mortgaged foreign properties of Pakistan before lending loan. The PIA was mortgaged, Pakistan consulates have been mortgaged for dollars, Gwadar port would be eventually taken over by china as 100 year lease. Kashmir would be integrated into India ( says pakistan occupied kashmiris ) . Baloochistan province would either be independent or annexed into Iran as they border Iran and closely associated into Arabic culture than Urdu( they always wanted to be part of India though but india doesn’t want a hostile land between iran & Pakistan. It would inflict more harm if baloochistan joins India than it join Iran or rather stay independent ) Afghanistan taliban claims kyber pakhtunkhwa is ethnically pashtuns divided between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pashtuns are majority in Afghanistan so they claim that region. The remaining Punjab province and sindh province have Lahore and Karachi they can establish into independent states. Also Khalistan wouldn’t happen even in the wildest dreams.

They did the same things in Nepal (two airports), Hambantota Port (Sri Lanka) and in many African countries. India woke up just in time to cancel the project for one leg of EDFC (Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor) Railway which was awarded to a Chinese company. They were going to bring engineers and skilled workers from China- so not much employment for Indian engineers and workers and most project monies go right back into China.

    Leaving all other factors facing Pakistan aside like political instability, terrorism, shortage of everything etc, the hope in Pakistan ,was for Chinese factories relocating to Pakistan and thus being nearer to Africa, middle east and Europe thro Gwadar together with cheap Pakistani labour, it will be a jackpot, but we see now that the Chinese economy is faltering and the rivalry between China and the West is growing, so simply put,CPEC does have a bright future ahead if at all. China will loose its money in Pakistan coz Pakistan will be not able to pay back

    Dunno specifically about Pakistan, but why BRI is “popular” is that the money goes into the pockets of corrupt officials who sell out their country’s economy for the quick bucks. Usually, these countries are not eligible for IMF loans because this corruption. It’s the equivalence (and foolishness) of not qualifying for a bank loan and going for the loan sharks.
    I should say that Mexico is benefitting from “Chinese investment” but not through BRI. Chinese companies who want business in the USA without the supply chain problems of manufacturing in China are locating their manufacturing to other countries. But this investment is not BRI.

    Pkaistan is the prime example of "Hate will eat you from inside". This is the reason why India must remain culturally diverse. Their hatred towards begali language led to the creation of bangladesh. Pakistan's Ministers once used to brag that they will go to sleep hungry but they must continue their agitation "jihad" against India in kashmir.
    Decades later, Terrorism is almost non existent in Indian kashmir, meanwhile pakistan is still busy courting khalistanis in hopes of dividing India.
    Pakistan can literally earn billions just by being a nice neighbour. But they won't, our destruction is far more important to them(ISI & Army for the most part).
    Modi actually visited pakistan in 2015 (A surprise move), Pakistani politicians even recieved him well, There were actually talks of resolving this hindu - muslim & even kashmir issue billaterally which is being dragged on since 1947, hopes were high in India & Pakistan. Pakistani ISI/Army sabotaged the relationship by sponsoring a terror attack on India (Pakistan based terror outfit officially took the responsibility) almost immdediately after modi returned to India.
    But this can't go on forever, a time will come when pakistanis will realize that it is in our common interest to forge strong ties, be allies, pull our people out of poverty & focus on being one of the richest nations as we used to be in 1200s-1650s. Hope is all i have for now, i hope this feeling is not one sided otherwise we gonna loose big time lol :D

    • @udaydeshpande2225
      @udaydeshpande2225 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pakistanis are not intelligent enough to realize that the collective good is in establishing good relations with India. The religious indoctrination has screwed up their head totally that they can't see the reason. There is no hope to return back to old India. India does not need Islamic bigoted creed. It will impede our progress. From India's point of view, Pakistan must always remain in an unstable state and there should be no peace inside Pakistan. Once they achieve a semblance of peace, the "alla jo akbar" crowd comes out and starts causing problems inside India. It's better for India that Pakistan remains in a dire state perpetually so that India can continue on the path of progress.

    who on earth came up with this BS? Lets talk about the facts and figure - 1) All investments provides employment and salary advantage for Pakistan (biggest sectors are in engineering, hospitality and food industries.) 2) The sectors that are "struggling" are mainly government owned agriculture land and productions (owned by the PK government "to provide lower cost of living for citizens". This part is their personal affairs.) 3) Again what is this video even about? MOST OF PAKISTAN'S DEBT has been written OFF. China has already accepted an understanding that Pakistan does have their own complications within their own political climate. Approximately $6 Billion was written off - if any part of this wanted to be considered "interest from the loan capital debt" .. China gave them another lifeline.
