I have been raving about the mims ever since it showes up on my doorstep, it is SUUUCH a good knife. The mims would be absolutely perfect to me if they just recessed the pocket clip, but it still doesn't keep it from being my most carried knife recently, usually paired with my kizer domin or pyrite alt.

I've never been a fan of Camillus but they have surprised me with their budget knives the past few years. Great bang for the buck
I have that same Ganzo. It really is a good one. There's a few others I could easily recommend as well.
Sitivien has quite a few knives under $30 in 14C28N steel. I have to wonder if they can do that then why can't anyone else do it too?
Sencut knives are great. No issues with them at all. I have several of them.
That SITIVIEN ST119 has a good downward slant on the blade in relation to the pivot. You can really see that when you sat it down. If their claimed HRC of 59-61 is real, and IF you get one 60 HRC that would be a good D2 offering. The Sencut MIMS is cool too, and with 9CR18 steel, that stuff is surprising if heat treated right. Great of you to do this under $50 selection. Some good stuff in here for anyone looking for a working knife.
Sencut and Civivi…tough to beat.
My favorite ganzo is the g720. It’s just so thicc. Great video!

Nice list! The Sencut Watauga is Awesome, but I wish it had better acoustics. IMO not very satisfying. Hard to beat the acoustics on a liner lock. Something about that “click” when the blade locks in place.

I think J is the biggest Sencut activist I know of. We’ve seen that same maroon Actium in like 30 videos. 😁
The Serene is actually pretty nuts though. That thing truly feels closer to a We than a Civivi. Seeing it on video doesn’t even do it justice. You need to handle one to fully appreciate it. If they could do it in 14c for $60? Friggin *god* tier budget knife.
I have a sencut Watauga and it has really bad button stick so bad to where I need to use both thumbs to disengage it sometimes so I don't use it cause the stick is so bad
Also Check out the sitivian st 151. And the Ganzo d704. both in d2, both are tanks! But very pocketable. the sitivian has a wave feature and the action is just stoopid goodly. The Ganzo d704 is my favorite access lock from them. Thanks For another good one Jared. ❣
My personal picks, at under $15 @ BladeHQ, are CKRT Piet and Gerber Zilch. But I’m not into the fidget factor.
Drop the Sencut Watauga and Mims replace them with Kubey Thalia, Doris or Tityus for the $40 range. The Serene is definitely a banger for the price.

Sencut is my budget go to. Not saying Stivian or others can't make a decent folder for $20-$30, but I just can't invest in a bunch of cheaper "gas station" style knives from companies like them or any Amazon knife. Branding does matter and standards also matter. My pocket needs at least a Sencut. Great work as usual.
Sitvian is just as good as Sencut Tangram or Ganzo. They aren't gas station knives.
Pretty much every one of the popular China brands all started as unknown Amazon brands. The majority of them are definitely not gas station knives. Equal to Sencut in quality per dollar, though once they get the name established they will often start to raise prices.
Ya good point I don't like aluminum. Give me G10 or Micarta.
I have a ganzo 922. Not a cold steel but I get a lot done with it . Ruike is also good.
nice picks. Sitivien offers 14C28N with Micarta for 30 bucks. awesome. my favs under 50 USD are the Shooziz Han313 and XUN120. Trivisa has some very good sub-50 USD knives, too.
Ruike P801 full metal and 14c on bearings for $30. Still one of the best $30ish knives on earth in my opinion and has been for many years.

Great choices there! Sencut is the best true budget brand in my opinion, but the highest quality budget brand has got to be Miguron they are so well built and use amazing materials. I haven’t tried any Kubey or Ganzo knives but I definitely would like to. Ganzo is on my radar just because of the prices
My last two knife purchases were Kubey. Recommend the Avenger and the Doris. Absolutely love them. Everything is tip top on them

Ganzo actually has better d2 than civivi/sencut and petrified fish. When it comes to Chinese d2 ganzo has the best so far, petrified fish has 2nd best, and i think the other companies d2 are about the same quality especially when it comes to edge retention. My favorite highest quality knife made in usa for under 100 has to be the kershaw link 20cv. I work construction in a very humid state and have had a lot of d2 knives but they rust too fast where i live. If im trying to save money but want a good quality knofe with longer edge retention i go with cheap 30$ d2 knives. I want to buy another kershaw link 20cv for my edc and work knife, its better than the Spyderco manix 2 lw in spy27 i had gotten for work. Glad i didn't pay full price for it

Question Jerad, have you ever experienced the unpleasant friction of metal lockbar rubbing against the blade in the Sencuts? I get it all the time in the Sencut Fritch. It's a nails-down-the-chalkboard type of 'feel', meaning, it's an unpleasant sensation when unlocking the lockbar. Have any of these other liner lock Sencuts had that sort of metal on metal disengagement rub to them?? ps. you're a good man, and thanks for your hard work. You have been a huge inspiration in my knife collecting journey.
Had this on my Sachse I bought. Now I just keep it on the shelf. It annoys me quite a bit.

The actium wasn’t comfortable in my hand. The break in the middle of the handle was a hotspot for me.. 🤬

The hole on the blade is way bigger than it needs to be! I stay away from designs that will capture particles of whatever it is you're cutting!

Actium is near perfect knife.
Ganzo is trash with almost nonexistent customer service. Sitivien makes decent budget knives. If you're looking for something folding under $30, probably your best options are finding a deal on a Kubey, Kizer, or a Civivi. Have to agree on the Sencut Actium. That is a solid EDC. Additionally, a QSP Penguin or CJRB Feldspar. Of course your absolute best bang for your knives $50 or under will be full tang fixed blades. My folders, I mostly use for opening boxes or slicing apples, but when it's time to go to work, fixed blades are my go to.

no company pays me, and i wouldnt take the money, ive denied a lot of money from companies in order to not comprimise my ability to be honest, i cant help that sencut makes some of the best in that price range
