Thank you, right now I still have all the "old" 40 cal pistols. Most are hammer fired except the Smith and Wesson Sigma. Maybe they will come back around like everything usually does.
Love my Glock 19 & 23 both Generation 4 . Just perfect size for CCW . I agree I always loved the 40 cal and Speer Gold Dots are tried and tested as a very reliable capable round .
I like 9mm( Glock 19) but the .40 is better and more powerfull. The Glock 23 is great pistol and the gen. 5 the recoil is very, controllable. Glock is very reliable!! Thank you for this video.
Always been a 40 caliber guy when it comes to self defense, whether it be 40 S&W or 10mm Auto. Glock 23 was my first Glock and since put a McNally trigger in it.
That’s a Gen3 and you could tell by the stippling and the recoil spring as it’s a single spring, the Gen4 has a dual recoil spring and nicer stippling.
My glock 23 when the magazine is out of the gun the trigger won't squeeze no more it will be pushed back is that supposed to happen I lost my clip so don't know if my trigger will be reset where it can click ?
Hi Jim, Based on some research I have found them for $350-$450 range. I consulted my gun guru and he suggests holding onto it until the market heats back up. You could get more out of it that way. It's a sweet little gun.
@@copgun ok I certainly appreciate it. I've found how S&W and the SAF come about making it for Dick Heller but could never find a value. Ty and your friend very much. Look forward to watching more videos from you👍👍
my first duty gun was a Sig P229 in 357 Sig. I did about 20 years with that. I also carried a Sig P320 subcompact then the smaller P365. I used those guns in Detectives and undercover drug work. So after the P229 duty gun we went to the P320 in 9mm with red dots.
Nicely done! I have carried the 43x and it's a fine EDC weapon. Then I picked up a Sig p365 recently and had some light primer strikes so I think it's time to go back to Glock. Do you like the 23 or the 43x better for EDC? You don't look like Megamind; If you put a fedora on your dome you could totally pull off a Heisenberg!
Gen 1-3 is pretty much completely interchangeable. Gen 4 has a different slide cut for the dual recoil spring assembly. Gen 5 is it’s own animal pretty much with some parts compatibility but not much
@@copgun It will be a long long time for .357Sig to ever make a come back. They’ll still sell it, but in limited amounts and it will always be the most expensive round in the store. I have a bunch of 125gr Gold Dot HP’s on hand and am placing that gun/caliber into my daily rotation, mixed with 9mm as well as .40.
@@colt10mmsecurity68 I agree with that. The 357 Sig has lost the top spot to the 9mm. Same here with the Gold Dot HP's. They are great rounds. I want to shoot a deer with it just to compare it with the .40 cal Gold Dot. about 15yrs ago the .357 Gold dots were all the money. I have thousands of rounds tucked away for a rainy day. :)
If you’re interested I’m selling a Storm Lake double ported 5” barrel for the G23. I put about 50 rounds thru it. No issues, works great. Just dont carry with it or shoot as much as I used to. Thanks for the vid! 🤘🏽
Just to clarify the Gen 3’s do not have ambi mag release. That started with gen 4. Carried 23C gen 3 for 10 years on patrol. Great gun.
My first firearm was a Glock 23. Still have it and love it. I’m like you when I bought mine 40 was it. Great videos.
Thank you, right now I still have all the "old" 40 cal pistols. Most are hammer fired except the Smith and Wesson Sigma. Maybe they will come back around like everything usually does.
They still make new Gen 3’s to this day for the states that won’t put the newer models on the approved list. Nothing wrong with .40.
Thank you for the knowledge. I'm still a fan of the 40 as well.
Love my Glock 19 & 23 both Generation 4 . Just perfect size for CCW . I agree I always loved the 40 cal and Speer Gold Dots are tried and tested as a very reliable capable round .
Swap the barrel for a .357 Sig and you’ll love it even more
That sounds like a great idea. I will do it. I have a metric ton of .357 sig in gold dot.
@@copgunIt’s a simply superb self defense round. Maybe the best.
I still own three. Two in .357 SIG and one .40 cal. @@maxmccain8950

357sig!!!! 🏆

Glock 23 gen4 my personal weapon. Glock 19 gen5 duty carry with Customs and Border Protection.
That looks like a gen4 23 Mag release button is square any other one you showed was a Glock 43X.
43XMOS gen 5.
That was a 43XMOS. I think you are correct on the 23. I purchased that a while ago. I just picked up the Glock 20 Gen 5 10mm.

I have a gen 2 glock 23. Love my rare baby

Do a search for dead trigger Glock. I bet it’s the connecting rod or trigger spring. It should dry fire with the mag out.
I love my 23. Great edc piece, and .40 packs legandary punch that will knock down a bear if at a cabin in the hot tub or something.
I got my glock 23 for the first time and dont know much when the magazine is out of the gun the trigger wont squeeze until the magazine is back in ?
Awesome video
What optics do you have on that 23 g 5
I have both the Glock 19 and the Glock 23. Both are Gen 3 and both take the same holsters.
I'd like to know the value of S&W 442-2 2008 DC v Heller commemorative edition. Great video love 40S&W

Oh Yes….😁
Do you like gen 3, 4 or 5 in the Glock 23 best?
I'm liking the Gen 5's. The grip feels more natural in the hand. I'm using the 43 X MOS as my EDC. Gen 5.
Gen 3 is the best Gen. Most proven in police and military holsters across the globe 🌎....best aftermarket support
@@kevinrichardson8859 what about recoil wise. does the 3 kick alot more than the 5. or the 4

The 43 is much smaller. It's a better EDC. I carried it today for Easter. Inside the waistband off to the right.
Do people like the gen 3 glock 17 or do most prefer a gen 5 am i missing out of the gen 5?
Everyone Is Different, I prefer gen 4
I personally liked the Gen 5 features but it just feels kinda cheap to me, that’s just me. I feel more confident with my Gen 2 or Gen 3’s
How many parts are interchangeable between each Gen?
Just wondering thx
