So what subgenres am I still missing and what are the best bands from those ones?
Nintendocore
Melodic death metal: Amon Amarth
Edit: Intestine Baalism
Deathgrind - Cattle Decapitation
Technical deathcore - infant annihilator
DSBM-Leviathan
brothahman you looked like you were in undescribable agony while playing the dillinger escape plan riff .
Not agony, but panic. I was about to jump out of my chair.
Devourment are also an incredible slam band, pretty much the mother of slam after Internal Bleeding and Pyrexia. Their first and most recent albums are sooo heavy and brutal, especially the most recent album, which might be the heaviest album I've ever heard
Would have to agree
So true
Honestly Dillinger Esc Plan has some of the most out of the box riffing you can find imo, amazing stuff.
Facts!
Prog Metal: Opeth
"Plays the least prog riff in all Opeth's catalogue"
Good videos still ;) Keep it up
I just reaaaally like that riff
@@jojoplaysmusic Its a very good intro to that song indeed
I see cryptopsy = I instantly click and agree with your opinions
Prog Metal (option 3) Between the Buried and me
I agree with that
Technical Death Metal : DECAPITATED : Spheres Of Madness!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂🥳
Thank you so much
need to include technical death metal (necrophagist obvs)
Obvs
In terms of Brutal Death Metal and Slam, I think Cryptopsy made sense in the former, but Internal Bleeding is kind of a weird one, i mean yeah they were one of the pioneers of that genre, but I’d probably give it to Devourment because much like how Cryptopsy standardised many of BDM’s distinct components, Devourment standardised Slam.
That Candelmass + OTTO sounded insane.
What about death n roll
That white Jackson looks delightful
And it is
Wintersun, Dissection, In Flames 🗿
Bro just casually played the song that got me into metal for doom.
finally some opeth hope you do a video of riffs of the metal records
Excelente, toque, amigo, gusto en verte y seguirte, saludos desde Colombia.
Korpiklaani man. Nicely done on the backing track, what did you use to program that? Sounded awesome, cheers.
A stock VST on Ableton
Tech Death is 100% Necrophagist, followed by early Decapitated. OSDM is Obituary or Bolt Thrower.
If I had to pick a genre you missed I'd say melodic death metal, and I would personally pick Children Of Bodom, with "Downfall" as the song of choice. Though another really good one would be Dark Tranquillity, and I'd pick "Terminus (Where Death Is Most Alive)" for that one.
Also Blackened Death Metal's a really good one, I'd recommend Behemoth's "Ov Fire And the Void" for that one.
A New Level - great choice, one of my fave Pantera tunes.
Now,where do Yngwie and Isengard go?
I think Yngwie would be Neoclassical
@@jojoplaysmusic He's had a Glam era, gone Power Metal in the 90's,but all of his material had the Neoclassical elements,so it's a fair view.
Isengard...Viking Metal,it's not really Black Metal.
Speaking of,said 2 genres should take a spot in these "the best bands" series.
You can't just cop out on the prog choice (Opeth is the correct choice btw).
Wooooow, very good Sound
I can't argue with any of this, either because I agree or am completely unfamiliar with yhe genre 😅
Lol valid
For Brutal Death I would go with nile
Doom, Tiamat, Whatever That Hurts.
Great video!
Throw you some more nice music:
Mastadon - "Emperor of Sand" as modern progressive metal
King 810 - "Follow My Tears" as alternative metal / experimental
Frontierer - "Oxidized" as modern mathcore
Зло - "Зачеркни моё имя" as russian nu metal
Melodeath in part 3?
NWOAHM is just 200s Groove Metal, not really a new genre.
It's actually a term to describe a movement of new genres, like Alternative Metal, Industrial Metal, Nu Metal, Rap Metal, Groove Metal and etc. Genres that appeared in the 90s basically.
mathcore
Nile for brutal death imo
What genre is origin?
Technical Death Metal
progressive metal needs to be Between the buried and me
Deliverance is a great song
One of my favorites from Opeth
Doom metal only Type o Negative
If meshuggah counts as prog then it has to be them
Why for prog metal There are 2 options and why for folk metal not finntroll
Of course it's Seek and Destroy by Job for a Cowboy
actually candlemass is
epic doom metal and not doom metal🤓☝️
hi
Hello
For folk metal you could also use non European bands like Cemican (Mexico) or Chthonic (Taiwan)
Chthonic is peak
@@jojoplaysmusic Chthonic is awesome! Have you ever listened to cemican? I’ve never moshed to a flute before
Mathcore? Never heard about that genre before 😂
Folk metal should be ensiferum
Your brutal death and slam choices are questionable
nah cryptopsy for brutal death is respectable and internal bleeding is the correct pick for slam
Seem like pretty good choices to me
Lamb of God>Pantera.
no
Hot take lol
Honestly I agree!!!
You cant be serious.
Pantera>devildriver>...>nickelback>lamb of god
Slam = Suffocation.
They created slam but they're a brutal death metal band, not a slam band
suffocation definitely the best bdm band but they're not slam
@@alfonsalenius2482 yeah, I would've chosen Suffocation over Cryptopsy for bdm but tbf None so vile is just a masterpiece
@@alfonsalenius2482 I reckon the criteria for being a slam band is sounding like "We have Suffocation at home"
Nah, ya see? The minimal requirement for being Slam is sounding like a discount-bin version of Suffocation.
Machine Head > Pantera
Nnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaahhhhh
