One of my favs of all time by Brit. Danja did such an incredible job w brit. They really vibed together too. She had a lot of control on this project. And loved it. Then they made her a slave 🫣
Poor Britney - this song was released as a single a month after she was hospitalized and put under the conservatorship. From AbsoluteBritney: "Britney had planned a dance sequence on a chair for the, ‘Break The ice’ video, but the video was never shot, due to personal problems at that time, so the idea was scrapped and an animated video was made instead. Britney was unhappy about how her last 2 music videos turned out and wanted to take control and she immediately booked in dance lessons for the new music video. Unfortunately, things took a negative turn and it was not used."
That’s so sad. Britney is amazing I feel horrible for how she has been treated. I often think about that South Park episode and how it may have had some underlying message in there and then at the end when the south park world turns it’s attention to miley cyrus on the tv … hmmm.. the. That black mirror episode with miley in it was almost trying to tell the story for us then we learn about what was happening to Britney at the same time. Just thoughts in my head love to hear someone like yourself with some knowledge talk about this some more. Thanks for your insight Russell love seeing your comments!
This record was supposed to be the first single off of the album but the label shied away from it bc it they thought it was “too urban” for a lead single. They chose “Gimme More” instead. But its cool knowing the context bc Brit had the intentions of this being first single “It’s been a while. I shouldn’t have kept you waiting…. But I’m here now”
That's great to know. I knew it sounded like an era opener. I personally think it works better if moved as the album opener with Gimme More following it as track 2.
You don’t know how much I enjoyed this video! Is soooo interesting all the layers this song have! This is my fav track of this bible of pop and appreciate all the work you did for give us this video! From a big big big big Britney fan, send to you a big hug from guatemala
Juancho. Thank you so much my friend I’m so glad you liked it. I wanted to be very thoughtful in doing this episode because I knew how much it meant to so many people. I love your passion thank you so much again
Wow, I didn't realise how complex and intricate this song was with so many vocal, instrumental and special effect layers and levels. I didn't realise Keri Hilson contributed a lot to the backing vocals. I knew she was a songwriter here. Thanks for taking the time to break this song down. Amazing production - genius level! And they all understood and delivered on the assignment. Only bit I didn't like were the 'alien' sounds - made my chest hurt 👽😖 Surprised this didn't chart better - maybe it could have been released as the lead single especially as it was soon after Britney's breakdown exposure. The song message and anime would have been on point for a first single from the album as her comeback at the time!
I love this song. Keri Hilson’s vocal and writing style is all over this track, I adore the vocal production on this track. I might get some hate for this but I always felt, and still do feel, that this electro r&b cut would have been better placed with an R&B artist on an R&B album. Maybe for one of Hilson’s own albums. It wouldnt have been out of place on Keri’s albums and would likely have been a bigger hit for Hilson on r&b charts than it was for Britney on pop charts. Although I do love a bit of r&b Britney too!
A great gift indeed! Thanks so much for the time you invested in sharing this breakdown with all of us. The construction of these songs are truly impressive and amazing to dissect. 😉
Been waiting for this!!! 😍 However, you totally missed Jim's intro choir, which is also repeated in reverse after the first chorus. Perhaps you can include it in part 2 along with all the vocal outtakes 😏🤞
100+ layers of bg vocals is worth it for those sweet harmonies I think Gaga would be another great artist for that, lots of stuff going on in the background, though idk how easy it'd be to get the stems
Absolutely! I would LOVE some Gaga. All I can get of hers is files from Rock Band and Guitar hero which is disappointing I want to here it deeper than the 4 stems that those games provide. If you ever find anything let me know
Another great job Broden! I believe the backstory for this song is Keri Hilson recorded a full demo version of the song and they kept all her background vocals whilst having Britney record some of her own backgrounds as well. Keri's Demo (You'll notice that the bridge in the demo was scrapped for Britney's version): th-cam.com/video/yGyF4gNRQpQ/w-d-xo.html @55:49 Broden you're right the song your talking about is in fact a Britney song it's called "Gimme More" from the same album as Break The Ice. That vocal part you mentioned was sung by Jim as well. Jim Beanz is a big time producer, vocal producer, and singer-singwriter. I hope you can get your hands on the stems for these songs, they have a bunch of layers: Danity Kane 1. StripTease 2. Hold Me Down 3. Poetry 4. Want It 5. Lights Out 6. Is Anybody Listening? 7. Key to my Heart Day 26 1. Girlfriend 2. Stadium Music 3. In My Bed
I always LOVE your comments Skylar thanks so much again for the great insight! Love that Keri demo too wow!!! And yes how good is Jim’s voice! Love his work!!!
That’s where I exported these ones from inhale the original Pro tools session with all the fader automation and plugins used on the track on it it’s just that the computer that pro tools is on is really bad and slow. If people want to see that I should make a patreon so people can pay for pro tools for me haha
Thanks so much! There’s now 100 episodes available I hope you can find some more cool stuff in here. I’ll be back soon to do some more cool stuff! Can’t wait to come back
Can someone help me with where i can purchase or get all these multitracks? I work with teenage drug addicts and we use music as therapy to help them with their addictions. We want to be able to have these kids remix some of the songs that they all know so well.
Hey there a crossfade is when you turn the volume down on something at the same time as you turn the volume up on something else usually to replace the sound you’re fading out. It crosses over the old sound into the new. And the volume change is done with the faders on a mixing console hence cross-fade.
Mmmmmmm yum yum 114 glorious Dolby Atmos channals. i don't know what point what point what that would break down to. i'm not a math guy. I know if it's 12 channal it's 7.1.4. But 114 channals?
This came from that exact pro tools session. haha I had to render everything out from that mess. took me a while to get it right but if i can do it you can to! (theres a bunch of muted clips you can just unmute which is really handy).
Gaga is really hard ot get my hands on. everything i have is really dodgy 'rock band' video game files and i cant get my hands on the original tracks but im trying to find something for you guys that i can do soon!
I should do a reaction series to stuff that’s reccomended! I haven’t heard Braydin Andrew but my middle name is Andrew and the thumbnail looks like it would sound like something I’d dig! Standby! :)
Britney Spears- You drive me crazy
Off her first album! It’s not auto tuned and it really showcases Britney’s vocal ability at sixteen.
The production on this song is just another level
I didn't know there was so much to this song, no wonder it's top 5 bests of her carreer.
One of my favs of all time by Brit. Danja did such an incredible job w brit. They really vibed together too. She had a lot of control on this project. And loved it. Then they made her a slave 🫣
Break The Ice is the best track on Blackout, and that says a lot!! The vocal stems with her chewing ice will always be iconic

You're mixing this story up with "Get Back"
My favourite Britney song, amazing the production on this!
There is a multitrack of the break the ice recording session where britney is heard eating/chewing ice.
Britney has the perfect tone for harmonizing vocals. Keri sounds good as well
Her BEST song omg. Next Hold It Against Me please!
you are a blessing to us Britney fans, thank you so much!!!
M you’re going to make me cry. Thank you so much I’m so glad I could deliver it to you guys in a way that you could enjoy.
Goosebumps! Danja and Brit- what a combo.
The male background singer has a great voice
amazing

im just in awe... the production and vocal arrangement on this pop masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!

I fantasize about this being the first main single, too.
Thank you for uploading lol. Like your interaction with her vocals
Hold me Closer!!! 💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀💗🚀
For the people who says she can’t sing

Blackout!love Break the ice,and the music video, this song is amazing
this song is a great reference for how to write electro R&B
Jim's vocals in the bridge are out of this world. Always been my favorite part of the song.
One of her best song! One of my top 2 songs of her

Kerri Hilson did her thing on the bgs
Até quem enfim!!!! Uma das minhas preferidas

Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed this!
This is gold! Thank you
I love you for this
there is a multitrack that has the raw vocals and the entire recording process.
That’s where I exported these ones from inhale the original Pro tools session with all the fader automation and plugins used on the track on it it’s just that the computer that pro tools is on is really bad and slow. If people want to see that I should make a patreon so people can pay for pro tools for me haha

@@luffegun omg 🤣 you are so evil
Please, Get Back and Get Naked ( I got a plan) from Blackout should be the next... Please please
Can someone help me with where i can purchase or get all these multitracks? I work with teenage drug addicts and we use music as therapy to help them with their addictions. We want to be able to have these kids remix some of the songs that they all know so well.
I hear Kerry in there 😏
1:07 what is a cross fade? Genuinely curious about a lot of this 😍

Ah well is it 114 individal WAV files of each instrament and effects? Cause the Atmos count would come as we create stems.
it’s crazy how keri’s vocals aren’t even auto tuned much if it all
The beat 8:27 sounds exactly like Nelly Furtado’s “Promiscuous” 👀
Mmmmmmm yum yum 114 glorious Dolby Atmos channals. i don't know what point what point what that would break down to. i'm not a math guy. I know if it's 12 channal it's 7.1.4. But 114 channals?
🤩🤩🤩🤩
We need toxic! And you know it 😂
Theres download link for this?
The ProTools Sessions are kinda bad
This came from that exact pro tools session. haha I had to render everything out from that mess. took me a while to get it right but if i can do it you can to! (theres a bunch of muted clips you can just unmute which is really handy).
Do Liar
Wait… where’s the Jim’a choir in the beginning?!
Keri made this track
Please do starstruck by Lady Gaga
Gaga is really hard ot get my hands on. everything i have is really dodgy 'rock band' video game files and i cant get my hands on the original tracks but im trying to find something for you guys that i can do soon!
And if you have time blue light by Braydin Andrew
I should do a reaction series to stuff that’s reccomended! I haven’t heard Braydin Andrew but my middle name is Andrew and the thumbnail looks like it would sound like something I’d dig! Standby! :)
@@luffegun that whole album he did is quite the hidden gem, and clearly you have a great taste in music so I would love to see what you thought of it
it sounds like promiscuous at 6:10
Because he worked with timbaland on most tracks in the mid-late 00’s
