    Being a drummer, bass player and guitarist makes watching Rush a complete fantasy brain fuck to me. It makes me so sad that we lost Niel and consequently Rush. Some bands can replace a band member like The Who when Keith died, but there is no replacement for Niel. Great reaction dude. ✌️♥️🇬🇧

      I never thought of that comparison. Some times another will not do and the band is done. Also such as John Bonham.

      @@scottzappa9314 agreed. The one big surprise I got was when queen managed to find a replacement for Freddie. I thought it was impossible but they found Adam Lambert. Imo a better vocalists than Freddie with a bigger range. Freddie had his very unique style and tones that can't be emulated and Adam never tried to do so. So this is queen 2.0. Well done I say.

    Hemispheres was originally recorded too high to begin with. But they knew we would want to hear it occasionally so they were gracious enough to throw it in every now and then. I’m happy they did.

    This was the one medley section of the show, so yes no time for clapping haha, the rest of the show was standard, and you are correct Neil broke a stick, by the sounds of it, probably cracked the mic with it!

    Yeah, I remember him having a lot of vocal issues towards the end of that tour. So much so, he started vocal lessons with an opera singer from what I remember. On the next tour (TEST FOR ECHO) he sounded amazing...

    • @ZIG4ZAG20
      @ZIG4ZAG20 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would start doing less and less consecutive nights to allow his voice time to heal and recuperate. By Time Machine in 2010 I don’t think they played ANY consecutive dates AND besides altering his diet, he had a almost zero speech regimen to preserve his voice for every show. Now if that ain’t professional then nothing else is.🤯🤘🖖✌️🎸🎤🎤🥁🎹

    I remember Geddy saying in an interview once that they had recorded the music to Hemispheres before the vocals and then when they came back to record the vocals, the key they had chosen was at the absolute top of Geddy's range and in hindsight, he wished that they had stepped the music down a bit. Since studio time was so limited back Rush's beginning, they couldn't re-record the music, so he was stuck with the high notes for life!

    wow nice throwback. This tour was my first Rush concert (Anaheim), and I had no clue what the setlist would be, but was guessing it would be all the 80s and 90s stuff based on my only point of reference which was Show of Hands. How much was I over the MOON when they busted out this section of the show.... indescribable feeling.

      I can agree with that. I've seen all rush shows since their Presto tour. I remember that one the most because it was at Maple leaf gardens and the tragically hip opened for them. I think it was their next tour where they dropped opening acts and did 3 hours of rush awesomeness!!

    I had the full show of this on video a while ago when I used to trade with an old online community. This was one of the best available bootleg shows out there. Whoever did this back in the early/mid 90’s was a master of piecing together video clips and syncing the audio.

    • @StickHits
      @StickHits ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The full show was actually just featuring the lower quality angle which cut out and was blocked about 50% of the time, while trying to come up with some sort of solution to this I noticed that a recent NY show had them wearing essentially the same outfits so I figured why not fill in the gaps with that? Getting it all synced up was an ordeal to say the least, but I am glad I went through with it! Cant let sound quality like that go to waste!

    One of their best combo/medleys-saw this opening night Jan 22, 1994 in Pensacola Florida and the second night in NOLA on the 23rd. Alex had a guitar snafu when they transitioned into Tom Sawyer on the second night-didn’t work AT ALL for like a minute into the song-😳Geddy and Neil just kept playing until it finally came back🤯sounded odd but never missed a beat😂🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎹🎤

    What a great video. So what is making that Bass sound so close (grungy bark) to the old Rickenbacker? Is it in processing or physical playing techniques JP? Whatever it was it sounds cool.

    • @JustinPanariello
      @JustinPanariello  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rickenbacker is pretty grinding sounding and a Fender Jazz bass can have a bit of grind or growl to it also. Not as much as a rick, but it can get it depending on the volume/tone settings and how youre playing it.

    Nice, especially since this is one of the few tours that was never officially documented. The video was obviously compiled from different seat views across different nights, but a good job was done editing it all together. It does seem like there were some technical snafus, and Geddy seems to be looking toward the exits from the get-go, but with a wife back home about to burst who can blame him?

    Justin, having been to over 100 Rush concerts, the audience goes wild when the show starts, then kinda settles to take it all in...If you're jumping up and down and cheering...you miss the show! Also the last 20 years of Rush concerts, there was NO opening act. They divided the concert into 2 parts...a well-deserved intermission for the fans and I'm sure for the Band as well...

    This is a real back in the day bootleg. Audio weirdness due to tape dropouts or someone getting the tape too close to a magnet or whatever was common on those. The fact that they synced audio and video from entirely separate shows without any modern computer tricks and you can't tell most of the time shows how precise they were live.

    • @StickHits
