- We compare Khaleeji Arabic makeup with Indian makeup today. Khaleeji makeup is Kuwaiti, Emirati , Bahraini, Saudi makeup that is prevalent in GCC countries like Kuwait, Dubai, Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other Middle Eastern countries. Arab makeup is known for their strong eyebrows, and heavy khaleeji/ emirati eyemakeup with heavy false lashes, and lenses. Heavy contouring, highlighting and full coverage flawless longwearing foundation is also a trademark kuwaiti khaleeji makeup style. Lip Injections and cheek fillers are very popular cosmetic procedures in the gulf region as seen on arabic celebrities like Haifa Wehbe, Nancy Ajram, Najwa Karam, Carole Samaha, angham etc.

+minamoon01, as a Saudi I agree with you, this is accurate....I've been living abroad all this time but when I got back to Jeddah and went make up shopping, sometimes I see similar looks on some make-up artists and sales girls (in places like MAC and Make Up Forever). I feel like Gulf Arabs are similar to Americans in the sense that they are OBSESSED with bronzers, the 'tanned look' (golden/bronze skin), contouring, and sharp brows. I also see self-tanners being sold everywhere. I was at MAC sometime back, and they gave me a foundation shade that was 2 or 3 shades too dark! Maybe it's because they think I look too pale, and it's not the beauty ideal here. It's so interesting to see this.
So it's not ok to show your hair but it's ok to put on a make up like you work in escort?
Please do traditional bridal Indian make up vs traditional bridal English make up. They're very different so it'd be very interesting to see.

I'm curious what people think "American" makeup is. I'm not being critical, I'm just a MUA in New York City and there is a LOT of variety.
atamburlaine In general, it's extreme contour, thick brows, matte lips, and false big lashes. The other colors tend to vary depending on personal style/skin color/ event. For the last few years at least (of course, each decade styles vary).
atamburlaine Great point, but there is an overarching American aesthetic that I think would be interesting to demonstrate and compare with other make up aesthetics. Of course, this homogenizes make up preferences of not only US American but Indian, Arabic, Korean or any other cultural group we do comparisons with. Class, weather, skin tone and other factors play into the make up trend one prescribes to. However, I do think there is value in identifying different standards of beauty using the way make up is applied in the mainstream culture of any ethnic group we reference in videos such as these.
So, in other words, the "Kardashian" look is most accurate regarding modern standards of US makeup according to non-US folks? Full coverage makeup and contouring, matte lips, etc?
@Karthiga For sure, these videos have a lot of value and are useful to me in NYC because I get tips on international brands and popular products to seek out, and I work on a LOT of international clients because NYC is an international city. The average New Yorker today is still doing the matte lip thing but the "dewy"/faux-"natural" look of K-Beauty is slowly overriding full-coverage matte foundations. This summer has been exceptionally humid and hot hot hot, like Mumbai weather, so many of us have given up and are just wearing sunscreen, some sort of tone-correcting primer, eyeliner, and mascara though. :D

I'd love to see them from this channel too though, or for other cultures since Zabrena mostly focuses on American styles. Still, worth a watch 😊

My Dear Jovita: I love always the Indian Style! I like to wear this by myself in the lighter Version since I was the first time in India around 1980! So many very, very beautiful woman there, whow! And the most of them are wearing NO Make-up, only Khajal and, maybe if they got it, "Cutex", means: Lipstick and Nail-Laque!
Also Arabique Women are beautiful, but I know only the very few natural women there, Beduins a.s.o., and they wear only Khajal and, maybe, a little bit Lipstick!
But all of them have wonderful skin, they don't need a "pound " of Products, they are also beautiful by they own!
I love them for this! They used Coconut-Oil for Face and Hair, and they are all natural beautiful women!

Dana Falcon: a lot of the Russian Ladies, which are here in Germany, wear very heavy (in my Eyes most of the time nearly "ugly" thick Make-up!) in terrible Colors....I'm sorry for my words, but it seems to me like I wrote, it's the Truth! Very pinky Lipstick, a lot of Foundation, Blush, false Lashes, a lot of Mascara....of all Products a lot to much!

I have been watching a lot of Lebanese wedding videos, and the one thing that always stands out is how handsome the men are and beautiful the woman are.
