Wonderful advice! I started my edible/medicinal landscape over 13 yrs ago .. Im a mom to 3-sons and a wife I first put in 2-raised beds, then a a small greenhouse, then pullets, then a fruit orchard to planting every berry that I can get to grow in my zone.. mints, herbs, rhubarb, asparagus patch to strawberry patch to medicinal plants.. learned to pressure can, water bath can to dehydrating .. Im self taught, lots of failures but continue to learn skills.. I did all this so my sons and future grand children have a food forest already set up for them .. My family owned several farms so Im a farm girl living in the Country.. no one was against me doing what I created except for having to mow around the fruit orchard.. it is big and hard to mow around but I told my husband someday this is going to help feed us .. guess what that day is here with everything going on the inflation, the empty shelves.. WE are set up thanks to me and me only..

Good for you! Thanks for sharing your journey! It somewhat sounds close to mine. I am self taught for the most part. Lots of errors along the way. But that's the best way to learn. We started with raised beds when we still lived in the city and when we moved we started a garden and getting all the perennials into the ground. It is so rewarding, and you are setting your family up. That's so awesome! That's exactly what we can do when we put our mind to the task. 😊

I’m off the grid built but not self sufficient for food. For water: yes. Heating: yes. Sewage: lol, yes! I grow food just for fun, fish and hunt. you bet I’m ready for a world crisis but I’m enjoying my nearest supermarket at 1 a one hour drive.

Well you seem better set up than we are in some aspects. Good for you. The trick is knowing how to grow things and maintain that if you ever need to. Thanks for the comment 😀

I just found your channel and love it, I retired about a year ago and have just moved to our summer home in Denbigh. As a child/teenager my dad always had a huge garden and I loved being in that garden everyday, I always told myself I was going to start a garden but never had the time with 4 kids and working 40 plus hours a week but now that I am retired I think I might try to start one this spring, I know it will be awhile before I get the hang of things again but I definitely going to give it a try. Thanks for all the info you are producing on your channel, it sure helps a lot

Thank you so much! I am very happy with how this one has turned out. I am also super glad so many people are encouraged by it. That bread pan was actually my grandmothers, its the only one I have like that.

Hi guys- just subscribed from a review channel - we’ve always had a keen interest in Homesteading, I grew up in Tasmania and we had chickens and vegetable gardens and fruit trees - very self sustainable 🥚 🐓 so we are really looking forward to checking out your channel and what you have to offer! 🥕 🍅 PS as a graphic designer I really love your logo! 🙏🏻

Wow! Thank you for subbing and for the kind words. I hope you will find us interesting as well as informative. 😊 We are very happy with our logo. We created an idea of what we wanted and used Fiverr to find a watercolour designer as I love the water colour feel. It took a bit to get exactly what we wanted but we are very happy with the outcome. We hope you will stick around 😉
