- Hello and Welcome to a short History about the life and death of the Spectra Video brand of computers.
This is as accurate as i could find with the information around.
All the views in his video are my own and in no way have come from any of the named company's unless it was in printed form and available on the internet.
Also there are a few hidden spots in the video to look out for...
TH-cam interview with Bill Gates and Kazuhiko Nishi • MSX interview avec bil...
Blue MSX Emulator (for the SpectraVideo computer) bluemsx.msxblue...
I remember seeing an SV 318 at a classmate's house in 1983. I was really impressed with it, as I was with any computer at the time being 12 years old and without one of my own. Enjoyed the video, thanks.
your welcome , glad it brought back good memory's..
Thanks for the video and information. This was very helpful as I am an American and did not know the full history of this computer line. Most appreciated.
your welcome. yes i'm a big SVI collector.. and still going.
Thank you Dave for the comprehensive history on Spectravideo. I started programming in basic on the Commodore Vic 20 in 1980 and upgraded to the SVI 328 in 1983. Loved the machine and own 2 of them at the moment, great memories.
thanks for the kind words.. i'm a big time collector of SVI and have alot of hard to get gear but still some that are hard to find..
Great video Dave. I don't know anything about this brand other than the name and the Quickshot joysticks that we used to use on the C64s and Amigas.. :)
Really cool to have this history lesson.
your welcome.. enjoy the rides to come
SVI328 is my favourite 8 bit. I owned a SVI 328 as a teenager. I am hoping to complete my SVI collection. Getting there slowly. Cheers and keep the videos coming.
yes i have a very large selection of SVI gear that i will show in the channel over time.. enjoy
Good work Dave!
thanks terry
Hello. Nicely researced. Just a bit of positive criticisim if you don't mind - The audio is suffering for 2 reasons, The acoustics are tinny, and the mic is hissy. Otherwise good, keep up the good work.
thanks for the kind words. i'm hoping to get better as just my 2nd video..
Interesting. I had one also, but then amiga 500 came :)
cool.. nice to see another svi user..
@@daves8bitbasement My brother and my father bougt a SV-328 and i was allowed to play a lot of games :) I even programmed some stuff from magazines in basic. But then AMIGA 1000 came. R.I.P SVI and Amiga
@@TaShadan Yes the Amiga was a better pc.. but for anZ80 pc the SVI was and awesome pc for its Day..
@@david-kotter3195 i agree. Spectravideo just had bad Timing and poor Marketing and sales strategy. It Was specs wise and with its modularity/ upgradabilty ahead of its time. And all that for a reasonable price.
I've got a complete set of a SV318, incl full expander dock, 2 floppy drives, data casette, graphics board, etc. etc. Only thing missing is the red joystick ;) how much would that be worth for collectors?
what expander? 601 or 605? and what cards are in it? (the expander) but with out that from 300+ us with out knowing the other info and condition..
wow
Thanks..
