You earned a loyal Subscriber! Great video! It is awesome to see others doing similar content as myself. We have a Wood-Mizer LT15 Standard with a 19HP Kohler. Having the sawmill along with starting up a TH-cam channel has made this adventure an absolute blast so far! Keep up the engaging content!
Very cool video! Are you not concerned about the location of the pith within the beams? I noticed that you were cutting beams with the pith right close to the edge of the outside of the beam. Speaking of the pith, what is the method with this sawmill to centre the pith on the vertical and horizontal dimensions? Thanks!
Yes, I was trying to just cut the beams out without getting any pith on either of them but I ended up with a little on one. Not ideal but I put that face in a frame up against a wall so it should be okay. And you can raise and lower each end of the mill individually to match it up with the log.
@@SharpeTimber Are you able to centre the pith relative to the path of the saw? Of course you can eyeball it, but I was curious what you use as a reference with the mahoe if you wanted to measure. For example, on a bandsaw you use the toe board and measure the height of the centre pith from the log bunks, then turn 90 degrees and do the same. This puts the path of the saw perfectly parallel to the pith. On my Lucas mill I measure the height of the saw carriage to the pith, tilt the rails appropriately and that takes care of the vertical orientation. Next I measure from the side rail to the pith and make sure that it's also the same distance and that means that the log is in the right place on the horizontal plane. Are you able to measure in the same way with the Mahoe?
It's not everyday one sees such a short 2 person cross cut saw such as that. Is the Skil worm drive Sasquatch Beam saw on your Christmas list this year? The gazebo turned out great. How is the timber frame going for your house build?
Hey! Yeah its a really handy saw ro have, I had it make custom by a guy who makes racing cross cut saws. And yes I have been looking at one of those for a while. House build is going good, I am still working on the frame in the shop, plan is to raise the frame sometime in May or June. Its hard to get everything I need to done but we are getting there. I need to make some videos of the joinery on the beams. I will make sure I make a few for you 👍
Eu queria ver o preço da Serraria de dois disco como essa Mahoe sawmills da máquina de furar quadrado deste canal que eu sigo alguém poderia me informar estou no Brasil.

$45k USD or around that
😲 wow
Song name a 8 minutes
Somehow, I don't like videos that have music, especially when there are sounds of equipment in the workshop. It's so annoying
I can see your point, thanks for the feedback!
