I really appreciate that you share your messy unfinished drawings. I sometimes get discouraged when I look at my sketchbooks and they're filled with a bunch of unfinished ideas and messy sketches. But seeing that you have the same process encourages me to keep going. Thank you! I absolutely love your style, and even some of the drawings that you think are not so great, I find to be really beautiful.
This video was the perfect timing for me to watch I’m getting ready to finish a sketchbook that I’ve worked on for 3 years (I mainly do digital). It actually looks exactly like your pink one. It’s huuuge! It’s very messy it’s just full of gestures and anatomy studies but I contribute a lot of my art improvement to it. It really made me feel like I had a safe space to just be messy and imperfect. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing yours as well! ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing this sketchbook - even though I think your messy sketches are still fantastic - it makes me feel better that most of my pages are not aesthetic, not finished, and not pretty in my opinion. It's all about having a safe place to learn and grow and I think with social media we forget to make the "ugly" learning stuff sometimes. I really loved all of your sketches ❤️
Thanks for sharing these! I actually find these a lot more inspiring than the more thought out onse. Just seeing more of your thought process is so cool!❤
Your definitely my biggest inspiration rn!! I LOVEEE your arstyle so much!! From a fellow Canadian, you are like the mist talented person ive ever seen lol.
I met you around the end of 2016 through one of those marker drawing challenge videos, as I was getting into the world of alcohol-based markers and I really liked your work!💖 It seems to me that at that time you were in one of those yt art groups?I don't remember that well, but I liked how you created your illustrations based on a concept or word. I fell in love with your animal sketches, with those stone guys, and with the way you create, sketch, and play with lines, colors, materials, and textures, both in your sketchbooks and in your final projects!!You do everything so fluidly that it's amazing to watch!😊 You are and have been a great inspiration to me. Your artwork and sketchbooks are gold!☺ Nice video!!Thank you so much!!💕
I admire your work and how you present everything, it’s very you in the best way possible. I was curious though, as an artist do you sign your art as JelArts or with your actual name?
Loved seeing your old sketches! I've followed you for a long time and never comment, but I was wondering if you had any advice for finding like minded artists. I feel like there are plenty of other artists, but how do you find others that want to make art like you?
Im still having a very, VERY hard time excepting the whole "sketchbooks are supposed to be messy and imperfect" especially coming from a perfectionist noobie 😅
I know, it's hard! Also, sketchbooks aren't "supposed" to be anything, but it can be helpful to have a dedicated space to just explore and not worry about the outcome. I personally like doing a mix of "good" and "messy" sketches.
I feel like I’ve been having a harder time drawing than usual (and making “finished” pieces”). I often wonder about the mental side of art and how to actually understand all this stuff.
I feel the same way about sketchbooks and going back to them. I have one I used like 5-6pages in and for some reason I didn’t go back to it??? But it’s from when I was in college (over a decade ago 🥲) and I feel bad it’s so empty and unused

I'm scared to look at my artwork from school and design lessons cos it was such a horrible time for me.
I think yours look great!
Love the video and the tour🫶🏻
loved your nails!
For me sketchbook are for experiment, I like the sketchiness, the random drawings with mechanical pencil..loose sketches.
I admire your work and how you present everything, it’s very you in the best way possible. I was curious though, as an artist do you sign your art as JelArts or with your actual name?
Yeaaayyy new video

Your nail polish is so pretty! 😍 What is it?

is it normal that i use the same cheep sketchbooks as my 'clean' sketchbook😁😅😂

Messy? This is better than me trying my absolute hardest.
I remember that I threw away lots of old sketches... Start keeping them from 2000 , before that I just drew whatever...
