Those holsters and boxes are in amazing condition. I would like to find one for each of my C96's and my Luger. Thank you for posting this and adding another facet to my collection.
If you happen upon any WWI artillery luger stocks/holsters, let me know! I was willed one recently, and hopefully I can rebuild all of its pieces to at least show younger people than myself some interesting pieces of history the way it would be issued
I was watching this at 2100 Central Daylight Time. Not only is the quality if the video and the information outstanding, it has 490 up votes and not a single down vote! I don't know how that ranks in rarity compared to some of the artifacts shown but, given the sometimes toxic seas a YT video must swim in, it seems pretty damned good.
You get the best and most educational videos. I love the work you do. Thank you for sharing. Wish you could convince Canada's government of the importance of firearms and collecting.
The dropping holster you could carry it “open” and dropped down for quick easy access. Instead of closed. You should try that Tom. Put the belt through it and carry with the flap OPEN. Quick draw so to speak. -Andrew (Seattle)

Ehrengabe is tribute or token of regard. Gestiftet could in this case mean donated. So "tribute donated by..." The v. means "von" or by. The names speak for themselves. Would be interesting to find out who it was donated to!
All this fine leather and those beautiful guns for "golden pheasants" just to show off, and not to fight!
THANKS for showing!
We can FEEL, even through the computer screen, and from thousands miles away, HOW MUCH You love Walthers, Tom! :)
THANKS for showing!!

Those tiny boxes for Models 9 are too kawai! XD
the "verl." abbreviation stands for "verlängert", meaning "extended", and thus, indeed refers to the extended grip piece. Best regards
LOL rear holster and proceeds to toss it on the floor 2:58

Regarding the PPK verl., youre information is correct. Verl. is short for verlängerung = extension / verlängert = extended :)
It's a dropping holster because the holster can be pushed down so the flap remains open making it easier and quicker to draw your pistol.
Thank you!!!

I think the “verl” stands for: verlängert, which would translate to extended.
The abbreviation verl. on the box PPK verl means verlaengerd or extended.
Awesome! Legacy Collectibles fans are so good about providing quick translations or explanations. 😊

I was just wandering if the party leader holsters are all GI bring backs..thanks for the great videos
Tom is another one of those people, you wish were your history teacher. Thanks Tom.
Agree. He also feels like he's probably a Democrat as most of my teachers were 20+ years ago.
I thaught it was called dropping style because of the way it opens and shuts. The clasp drops down instead of pulling up.
The holster can drop down so the gun can be at the ready position for quicker draw. Figured that out shortly after buying one for my p38.
@@Foche_T._Schitt cheers for the reply! Wish I had one.

Great video
As a Californio, I'm sad to see all these guns leave my state ):
Given California's stupid laws, they probably can never come back into the state since they aren't on the list or owned by a state resident any more.
These antiques are not welcome there. Because of your Communist Government.
PPK verl would stand most likely for PPK verlängert which means extended...
Wow! 👍👏
Droping style holster : "Oops I drop it"
