For those 2nd edition Luftwaffe daggers, I have one with good condition gold pommel, excellent condition, and no maker's mark. Do you have a ballpark figure? Are daggers with maker's marks worth more than those without?

Really beautiful knives. It illustrates some of the German (Third Reich at least) genius in their war effort. Millions of civilians behind the lines were crafting beautiful equipment as part of the war effort. Not only did these people feel like they were part of the war effort, but the soldiers doing the actual fighting certainly got a valuable psychological boost from knowing that they were using equipment made with legendary German craftsmanship.

I try to be a good person, I try not to be jealous of my fellow citizens - but when I watch this video the green envy takes over! I sometimes retire to my tiny man cave with just a couple of daggers mounted proudly on the wall, and then end up having to open a bottle just to ease the pain..... God I would sever a limb or two just to have a table full like the one shown here (wouldn't be short of severing tools either would I? Ha !!) Seriously though, a fantastic video, thanks so much to the guys at Regimentals, so educational - I'd best start saving up my pocket money I guess!! (My missus just walked in an said "you watching sword porn again?" - they just don't get it do they, LOL)

I have one of those army daggers with a bright orange handle. It's complete with the tassels. It was given to my dad after his uncle passed away back in the 70's. My great uncle confiscated the dagger after some German soldiers surrendered to his unit.
You'd think the Germans would have been too busy attempting to take over the world to mass produce all these different types of daggers that were primarily just part of the uniform.

I didn’t know that those black red cross daggers were so hard to find. I possibly know someone who might own one of these. They should be in a good condition but they are not quite complete. The sword itself is of course complete as well as the scabbard piece, but that’s about it if I remember right.

I went to some Antiques place a couple of years back. One of those ones that's completely random with different units occupied by different sellers. Normally it's pretty boring stuff; beano annuals, china, crap chintz etc. One seller had a whole bunch of WW2 daggers, including what looked like an SS dagger. Nothing had prices on it but I can't believe they were going for anything like the prices you're suggesting here because they were with a complete bunch of worthless car boot dross.

Interesting, though I'd argue that the single edge weapons are not, strictly, daggers. I have a kriegsmarine dagger, by Hubertus of Solingen. I can just make out the pattern welding in the blade. It has a spiral cut wooden grip. It is postwar as the swastika in the wreath was obliterated. Further evidence of that is the made in Germany on the ricasso, in English. That helped quite a bit with the price point when I bought it.
