Same an aunt of mine got married in her late 40s, the stupid teens in my family used to make fun of her when they heard she was having a big wedding, making jokes about her being 'too old' to pull off the bridal look. Well they went quiet real quick when they saw how glamorous my aunt was on her wedding. She looked like a celebrity bride honestly!
Can we all just agree the styling for her wedding dress was better in this scene than when she was supposed to get married? That bird was freaking stupid!
This was hands down my favorite scene from this entire movie. Every dress was stunning, her poses and the song was amazing and fit so perfect with Carries poses. And that Vivienne Westwood dress was the perfect dress, a touch of old Hollywood and 18th century regality all in one. Ugh just beautiful. Honorable mentions: The Vera Wang, Dior and Oscar De La Renta dresses were also GORGEOUS
Her hair and makeup in the first dress was just perfect, she looked about 10 years younger. And that face she pulls at 1:54 is so reminiscent of early seasons Carrie.
This scene is one of the many reasons why most girls (and guys) fall in love with SATC in the first place😭😭😭😭 seeing Carrie be styled/assisted by Andre and photographed by Patrick, now angels in heaven ❤️
The amount of bridal couture in this scene is just breathtaking. Especially the Oscar De La Renta! He always had a vision that brought out the best collections during his time. RIP Oscar ❤️🌹!
@@msmilano7091 you are not alone. I actually thought it was quite hideous, especially in the chest. Im reminded of a duvet and down comforter. The bird didn’t help the look either. The Vera Wang and Oscar de la renta were stunning on her in my opinion.
For the wedding they were originally planning at the courthouse, the lanvin look (with the short dress and faux pearl necklace) actually would have been perfect!
Samantha crying looking at Carrie looking so beautiful and happy ❤️ she loves her soulmates so damn much. Edit: RIP Leon! I shall always remember you in this scene and you choosing Whitney Port to be a model on The Hills!!
Her hair when she’s in the Carolina Herrera is beyond gorgeous 😍 I love what Stanford says about the Vera Wang dress - that when he gets married he’s going to wear something like that but bigger 😂 He did wear white to his wedding and he did have a ton of swans 🦢 so close enough 😂😂
I was disappointed with the suit he wore to his wedding. Based on his comment in this scene I thought he would wear something extravagant to his wedding.
Agreed the first dress is absolutely divine, I like it more than the final dress and the dress at 2:47 looks really cute on Carrie. I think it was more suited to her.
@Omani CC I agree that the Lanvin minidress was more suited to Carrie's personality and the Big/Carrie relationship dynamic. Every now and then SATC styled Carrie as 1960s Mod, which I always liked -- it's a really good look on her.
When Vivienne Westwood's dress came, it was like it was ideal for carrie's figure!😍 She was stunning. I would love a dress from vivienne for my own wedding some day! I hope i can afford 💖
Oh honey, I’ve been married for 25 years, and you don’t have to spend a lot on a wedding. Prepare for you and your partners life ahead, don’t blow it all on something that’ll only last one day. Much love, be blessed
I love the wedding dresses here. Shame the last one made by Westwood won't be wore at the end of the movie. But I'm kind of glad in the end she wore a vintage white suit. Simple & Classics.
I love the Vogue styling of the Vivienne Westwood here with the fresh makeup and loose curls. That cakey makeup, dark lipstick and dead bird on her head really aged Carrie during the wedding day scene. It gave me cold austere Cruella vibes - maybe that's the look they were going for given the big breakup, but I'm kinda not surprised Big didn't step out of the limo when he saw her...
0:43 I know it's supposed to be about the dresses, but goodness! I fell in love with that piece of furniture in Candice Bergen's office. That black and gold... what even IS that thing??
This made me cry there r so many beautiful women who deserver too be loved and cared for I wish husbands were more loyal and stopped ruining it for there spouse
Absolutely! It was romantic and beaded so beautifully….. the VW dress is gorgeous but Carrie was being swallowed in that dress. Where as the other dresses fit her like a glove, she even looked Amazing in the Dior dress.
While the dresses are amazing, can we take a moment to enjoy Big saying, “Who would put that in there”, when he hears the weddings in Page Six. Just the kind of line that said, we’re not this special of a couple.
OMG those dresses ! And she looked like a million bucks in ALL of them....I loved the Westwood gown the best... and the ENDING, when she opened the dress box, I was stunned.
I love all of these dresses in my favorite movie montage but it would be a real toss up between the Christian Lacroix or Oscar de la Renta for my wedding...if money was no object!! At least my fiancee surprised me with a pair of Manolo's to wear 💖💖
Holy shit that first dress 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I'm more of a fan of the Oscar de la Renta 😁
I love the vera wang.
Omg!!!
It would be so heavy though
If she wore that instead, Mr big wouldn’t have left
My uncle's sister in law got married at 62...and she was lovely! Age doesn't define a bride❤

It gives me a hope ❤️.
agree!
Love this!
@@omanicc9854 Shut them up with the quickness!
Can we all just agree the styling for her wedding dress was better in this scene than when she was supposed to get married? That bird was freaking stupid!
totally agree!! It was put just because of JSP and her questionable style taste.
Vogue has certain fashion style that is more delicate and finer.
That dress wasn't doing her any favors
Agreed! While I appreciate that the bird was a modern take on "something blue," the end result was hideous
It was the bridal equivalent of those stupid fake flowers she wore when she was trying to mimic Jackie Kennedy!
I'm 70, and if I can't find a gown, I'll wear, to quote my mom from the 40s, " a string of pearls and a smile".
Am 72 and feel the same way!!
@@Huu159 I'm wearing pearls..and shoes lol its Colorado
Loving it! 😁 Just for the record, where would the pearls go?
Cute😊
@NiVi192 Around her neck!......or, would that be saved for after the wedding???

you mean like the Bride of Frankenstein?
Can we just appreciate the line "Vogue airbrushing" as a selling point for her to agree to be in the magazine? 🤣
Right! Who doesn't want 'Vogue Airbrushing'😂😂😂
Right 😂😂😂😂
This scene is one of the many reasons why most girls (and guys) fall in love with SATC in the first place😭😭😭😭 seeing Carrie be styled/assisted by Andre and photographed by Patrick, now angels in heaven ❤️
Absolutely love Enid. She doesn't put up with crap and gets straight to the point. "Vogue airbrush." lol
The amount of bridal couture in this scene is just breathtaking. Especially the Oscar De La Renta! He always had a vision that brought out the best collections during his time. RIP Oscar ❤️🌹!
RiP Vivienne Westwood!
Idk to me Carolina Herera was a perfect look for her
The Westwood dress IS EVERYTHING!!!
I actually thought the Westwood dress was my least favorite some of the other ones were way better
That’s how I felt about the Oscar de la tenta dress.
I feel like the only one who hated the Vivienne Westwood one
Is was an iconic look 😍😍 wish she kept the same style for the wedding without the bird headpiece and the burgundy lipstick
@@jnunyabizio5169 same here , l liked the short one .

Yeah, for a simple wedding I think it's best. Classic, stylish, and not trying too hard.
I thought Carrie looked her youngest and best in this dress with the over sized pearls and hair down.

Me too. Lace is so flattering.
That was my favorite dress too.
The lace was a little old fashioned, but this was 200X better

I was thinking the same, the mini dress is so beautiful, fresh and has a true Carrie style!!! :)
Me too! I loved the Vera Wang gown. It was perfect.
Lanvin is the designer 💛

Unpopular opinion, and I so do agree with you
Why would a bride look weird after she is 40? That I definitely don't agree and I find such expressions misogynic.
All SATC is full of that sexist concepts, that’s why all the girls are desperate for a man before “they are old” 😒
Agreed. That has to be one of the most offensive and sexist things I have ever heard. What makes it worse is that a woman said it.
For a show that’s supposed to empower or empower women that line was fucked up
I think it reflects an old societal standard that many women were held by. Until SATC changed that.
Shut up!
RIP Andre this is so heartbreaking to see you here after your passing. Rest in Power legend!
💔💔💔
SJP nailed each and every dress. Her Grace is fabulous
This is one of my favorite scenes from the entire movie.
that dior dress is everything with those sleeves and stuff
When Vivienne Westwood's dress came, it was like it was ideal for carrie's figure!😍 She was stunning. I would love a dress from vivienne for my own wedding some day! I hope i can afford 💖
You can still order them custom made at Vivienne’s shop at only £11,000. 😂
I pray 🙏 it's simply given to you.
It's only worth it if everyone can tell its a Westwood without you having to tell them, otherwise wtf is the point 🙄
Yes, but she eventually gets married in a thrift store suit, and she looks terrific!!!
Oh honey, I’ve been married for 25 years, and you don’t have to spend a lot on a wedding. Prepare for you and your partners life ahead, don’t blow it all on something that’ll only last one day. Much love, be blessed

Not at all, it goes so hard.
I was about to write the exact same comment !It's gorgeous !!!!
My thoughts exactly :D It is such a beautiful dress
The Dior was the best!!!!! it was the epitome of DIOR!
Oh no no no. Dior ate🔥🔥🔥
Charlotte screaming and grabbing her glasses is a mood
Thank you for uploading this in high quality. Love these dresses!
You're welcome 😊
I love the wedding dresses here. Shame the last one made by Westwood won't be wore at the end of the movie. But I'm kind of glad in the end she wore a vintage white suit. Simple & Classics.
I find the suit to be as beautiful as the Westwood gown. They both bring something the other one can't.
It was actually a Dior set, they never mentioned it on the movie

Just BEAUTIFUL! All the couture wedding dresses!! Loved this scene. Had never seen it before .
Thanks for uploading in good quality! Unforgettable scene
The Oscar de la renta is so beautiful! Something I would definitely want!!!
Rest In Peace Vivienne Westwood 💐🕊️🥲🤍
I love the Vivian Westwood dress. It’s the type of dress I would want for my wedding, although most likely a cheaper knock off verison 😂
That oscar was just pure class❤❤✨
I’ll never understand a wedding dress that requires several people to move. 😂😂😂
RIP Andre Leon Talley! 💔
Hmm, I wonder how the actor, John James, feels about Big being named after him. 😁
Glorious sequence!
RIP Andre Leon Talley.
This movie spelled E S T R O G E N like nobody did it before!!

I always had a soft spot for the ‘sweet little suit’.
It was Dior so you had an extremely fine taste fosure
Thank you! The ‘no-name dress’ was Dior? Of course it was - classic SATC...

I know a photoshoot in a film is fictionalised fiction, but who was ever up a ladder changing lightbulbs in their wedding gown?!
High fashion photoshoots often clash elements. It makes the image pop, like say, floral gowns against a steel sculpture garden.

I adore the summer dress she's wearing in the apartment when she gets the gown. 💜 I think it's Vera Wang.

The Vera Wang and the Oscar de la Renta were by far the most beautiful ones. The others were just ghastly and weird.
