It was great that @wodemaya reached out to @therealsouthafrica when South Africa Tourism brought him to South Africa to promote South Africa. The world is a big place and it will take all of us to make our black realities come true. Bringing the African Diaspora home is a big job and it will take Tourism bureau's from around the continent and private people and content creators to do so. When the work is done Africa will be that shining city on the hill and the example of what could be done....this is only the beginning

Frankly speaking, there's nothing any worse Wode Maya can say that hasn't been said about blk Sans by Africans. The opinions of ppl whose hearts are seered n habour unknown resentment means zero to us. We're beyond worrying n bending over backwards trying to appease ppl. We hate no one. Our focus is on us n our country n the way forward. Anything else is or making videos critisizing other africans is not our trait.
Wode is welcome . He must broadcast what pleases him.

This guy is crazy. He talks about not being given creative freedom to showcase what he needs to do but when he came here the first time, he made a conscious decision to go to an old white neighborhood where there aren't any black people, which if he knew our history he'd understand why. He spoke about how black SAns are suffering and how he can help.
When there's newer surbubs occupied by black people, black businesses that are thriving and even people in rural areas and townships building mansions. He chose not to go there but make SAns look like they're suffering in their own land. It seemed like he had an ulterior motive in wanting to bring SAns down.
So someone like him needed guidance from the SA tourism, he needed his hand held and shown what black people in SA are achieving. Because you leave him to his devices, he does what he did in 2020.
A Tayo Aina, someone who does the same thing Wode May was able to showcase black people excelling in SA, so ask yourself how?

I was enjoying this until he said that the South African Tourism board does not know how to do their Job. 😂😂😂This is the thing about Maya, he always says some misinformed things. South Africa has the third highest tourism numbers on the entire continent after Egypt and Morocco. Bringing about $9 Billion in revenue. So I'm confused, if he has so much power with is influence work, why is Ghana not in the top 5 in tourism numbers?Maya Maya, we don't hate you man but sometimes you do say things that are misinformed and that rubs South Africans off the wrong way.

You misunderstood him. He said they don't know how to use TH-cam content creators, because they don't give them freedom to sell the country in their own way. He said when they invite content creators, they should give them freedom to frame the narrative the best way they know how, instead of telling them to do this, do that, ride a horse here, etc. He said the same thing about Ghana Tourism Board. You bring influential content creators to help promote tourism, and then not give them freedom to do their job is self defeating. It's like inviting a preacher, and then telling him to read an already typed message, instead of letting him preach his own way. Hope that helps.

With Ghana, it has to do with the history and culture. Wode mentioned the slave castles but it is also the modern history. The liberation of Africa was led by an HBCU graduate who was the protege of WEB DuBois, a founder of the NAACP. Ghana led in the liberation of the rest of black Africa. African American leaders made Ghana home from the sixties - MLK was there at independence, Malcolm was there, Ralph Abernathy, Maya Angelou, etc. Ghana as the ancestral home for the African diaspora has been going on for a long time and now thanks to this channel and the great Wode Maya, the process continues. It shall be well.

Great interview. Now the blessed thing of being American is that at age 62. You can retire with at least social security that will be sufficient in South Africa or many parts of Africa. I suggest as a standard that all African Americans have some type of secure monthly income before relocating to South Africa or any part of Africa, to prevent being a burden on society there. Unfortunately, many blacks are fooled by bad images of Africa even today. The American dollar exchange rate to any African currency is very lucrative. At my age of 59 now and getting close to age 62. Thinking about retiring overseas too. All the years of serving as US Air Force Security Police now Military Veteran and US Department of Defense (DOD) Civilian Police. I now do not worry about retiring with so many options open especially living overseas. I have lived in Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Marshall Islands and Philippines with over 18 plus years of living overseas. About half my adult life living overseas. Thank you for this information and I hope many who aspire to move to Africa remember to secure a monthly retirement income first. GOD speed Africa.

You guy’s are amazing! Nothing beats Africa. In the western world, one is controlled by a remote 24/7. In Africa, you are the remote and you control your destiny. I am a Kenyan, tried to move to the US 20 years ago. I didn’t like it. Went to the UK, bought property and didn’t like it. I am now convinced that anyone living in Africa is blessed because this is paradise, no matter your financial situation.
