I don’t hate the English version. I think Aaron DePaul as the Owl was pretty cool, but.... SHIT. Everyone and everything sound so much more epic in Japanese 💓

I know for some gamers (especially the native English speakers) feel it's a hassle to use Japanese dub and look at the English sub, but come on! It feels weird watching something clearly sets in Japan but the people talk in English. I just don't get that feeling and atmosphere if I watch a playthrough or speedrun using English dub :/

Yeah I played the game with Japanese audio and just turned on English subtitles cause it would not feel right in English. Same reason I don’t watch dubbed anime.
It is like that with many foreign films or games, Be it where they are either set in or also created in. People have fits if it's in a language they cannot understand without subtitles, But honestly, Its more annoying to listen to lousy voice actings.
If a game is set in Japan and shit even made in Japan, it's not only going to sound WAYYYYY better in its native language, but it fits much better as well. Certain tones or moments will have more dramatic and heartfelt moments than the non-native languages can pull off.
English especially can be very monotoned in voice acting. Just watch some of the English dubbed anime, even their screams sound flat lol. Whereas the original Japanese voices tend to have much more range and emotion.
The fact its in japanese automatically makes this an anime. 10/10

How do you write what wolf says at 12:05, "Do what must be done." Using Hiragana and Kanji?
roma ji is 「nasu beki koto wo nasu (no desu)」
kanji and hiragana is 「為すべきことを為す」「為すべきことを成す (成すand 為す is just a little bit different ) 」, hiragana is なすべきことをなす(のです).

I realize how strange Owl’s disappointment is with Wolf if you choose to defend Kuro. If anything that is still a continuation of obedience. He did tell Wolf to “defend him (Kuro) at all cost”. And since he (Owl) decided to acquire the Dragon’s Blood, he made himself a threat to Kuro and so Wolf, as an act of absolute obedience, is yet to fulfill his original purpose and that is to defend Kuro, even from Owl.
You see, in the cutscene in which the Owl introduces the wolf to Kuro, he says that the master is the 'second' most important being to a shinobi. And the most important ones are their parents, considering that the Owl raised the wolf, he is the wolf's stepfather. So by betraying the Owl, it also means that the wolf betrayed the iron rule of a shinobi.

Hi to anyone speaking Japanese, may I ask why does everyone call wolf shinobi-o/okami-o instead of shinobi/okami?
"よ[yo]" can be/is added to the end of sentences to stress a point or dramatize a bit. It's hard to explain, but it's a bit like an exclamation point in English but not quite.

Honestly I’d suggest watching some of Akira Kurosawa’s films, those were a key inspiration for Sekiro. Also a nice change of pace from the now very predictable anime genre. Sometimes ya gotta go live action
