  • New episode: Movements
    The concept of movement in music can be related to the importance of movement in life. Movement is not only necessary for physical health, but also for mental and emotional well-being. Just like music that stays stagnant can become dull and uninteresting, a life without movement can lack excitement and growth.
    In music, movement can create tension and release, and can take the listener on a journey. In life, movement can help us explore new places, meet new people, and gain new experiences. It can also help us break out of old patterns and habits, and find new ways of thinking and being.
    In both music and life, movement can bring about transformation and growth. So, let us embrace the power of movement, both in the music we create and in the lives we lead.
    In this video, I experiment with sounds that move and flow like the wind. The new Chase Bliss Mood mk2 allows us to explore beyond the limits, taking us on a sonic journey full of unexpected twists and turns.
    My beloved Op-1 field is the main source of melodies by routing all of its sound directly into Mood mk2, which is responsible for adding new variations and movement to the sound..
    Additionally, the use of the Elektron Octatrack mk2 adds a dimension of movement to the mix, like a breeze that plays with the branches of a tree.
    The live session was like a dance with the wind, where each sound moved and changed with the flow of the music. The Elektron Octatrack mk2 becomes the perfect partner for this dance, with its ability to break down and treat the signal like dry leaves swirling and twirling in the air.
    The nostalgic orchestral winds I use in the sound layers complement the feeling of being in the middle of a musical storm.
    All of this comes together in a single video, where movement and wind become the protagonists of a magical and immersive sonic journey.
    What do you think?
    I hope you like it.

      thank you very much for your words my friend. 🖤 Certainly this piece is a very special one for me too. Maybe because of the minimalistic and melancholic mix of sounds and the fact that a contact test with Mood Mk2 triggered the rest of the inspiration.

    I'm really feeling this, the sax (?) is giving it all such a nice sad tension and the swirling sounds through the cb mood just sound superb, it's really moving, in the best way 🙂

    I can listen to that on loop, so calming.
    What makes this pan slowly from left to right, is it the Mood or a post production thing?

    • @Hessencemusic
      @Hessencemusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much. There is no post processing … the left and right movement is done in real time by cocoquantus making self-modulation.

      I think that mood mk2 has another kind of surprises ... it's more direct than cosmos, and combining FX+clock+short.term sample.. but definitely different. I'm pretty sure you would find it interesting.

    wow, very cool. a few questions: 1) where does the trumpet like sound come from? and, 2) what device creates the ping pong stereo effect?

    • @Hessencemusic
      @Hessencemusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you!!! 🖤
      The winds comes some wav files loaded on two octatrack static machines that I recorded previously playing Spitfire Brass&reed library. The left-right "movement" is done by Cocoquantus using self-modulatation.

    • @tendingtropic7778
      @tendingtropic7778 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hessencemusic thanks, awesome. so the octatrack is only used for playing back samples and routing the audio from op-1/mood, or is it doing anything else?

    • @Hessencemusic
      @Hessencemusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tendingtropic7778 The flow is OP-1 to Mood to Coco to OT inputs. OT is responsible not only for triggering free sync samples from those static machines but also I'm using FX per track for filtering Coco signal and some subtle delay and dark rev with also gentle LFO to those FX. But I'm using OT in a free way with no sequencing. I'd like to play things with sort of freedom , so I'm looking for a way to use OT on a different way more "fluent"

    • @Hessencemusic
      @Hessencemusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tendingtropic7778 that is! :) I feel that there is more things around when you don't use a grid over it... in fact, you can perceive that the song has not clock or beat restrictions
