Proof that you don't have to spend the most money to get the best performance. I've been shooting kudu points and sevr for years. I've got friends that have been trying to get me to invest in iron will. Sure you get a bigger cut, but in my opinion some people have more dollars than sense. These trifecta heads might get a shot in my quiver this year. They are definitely priced right. Thanks for all you do John.
Let me begin by thanking you for the thousands of hours you’ve spent making the hundreds of videos you’ve created. Throughout your body of work, and most specifically more recently, your test protocol is the pinnacle of apples to apples broadhead comparison on the internet, and it’s not particularly close. With that said, this broadhead seemed like a major outlier in terms of the single bevel rotation test, and I’d like to know if you conducted that particular portion of the test more than once or would be willing to retest. Either way this seems like an excellent broadhead, if not an absolute no brainer for those of us jumping on the single bevel bandwagon. God bless
Geez! Stop testing better broadheads than what I already have! 😂😂 This thing looks sweet! Plus I like that you can swap out mechanical and fixed with the same ferrule.
Thank you for all the testing you do John. This broadhead is great! The rotation is amazing and it flies great. Right down the middle at 50-60 yards. I did notice it is a little noisy, but that is probably because of the rotation. Side note, I listened to a message you gave a few years ago. It was the same weekend you had fun with the K9 dog attacks. You preached about wondering if the Lord is working, while he is working wonders. Your message really blessed me and I’m thankful for you and your ministry. I pray that God would continue to give you wisdom and discernment as you rightly divide his word of truth. You are a blessing brother.
I know QAD Exodus is onw of your favorites as well as mine. But this looks like it may be the new big boy on the block. Can't wait to hear ur feedback from actually taking game with it. It looks great in ur tests
my 1st impressions were they had some weak points possible but boy was i wrong! very nice and very tough broadhead that i coulod see myself using in the future possibly!
Yeah, I had that same thought when I tested the first model a few months ago. I was wrong too. And they’ve just come out with a new more durable pin for their mechanical blades. I need to test that out soon.
It did do super well. I think it’s impossible for any to get a perfect score, based on the way the scoring is set up-but it did get the highest fixed blade score so far. Very impressive.
Way to go John, they’ve sold out of everything. You need to start taking a commission! Never heard of trifecta before you and now they are the rage ( pun intended). Looks like a decent head though that I would certainly consider. Really happy with my Magnus and QAD Exodus heads for now, so no reason to mess with what’s working well.
Curious the best way to sharpen these. What is the blade angle? Any recommendations? Thanks for all of your testing efforts--saves me a lot of time and money!
I believe I shared that in the video. You can either just hold them flush, along the 40 degree bevel, on any flat stone or use the Stay Sharp Guide C sharpener. I like to use the Stay Sharp Diamond Plates to sharpen them.
Hi John, if you had a 27.5” draw and pulling 55 lbs, which would you have in your hunting quiver for a big whitetail? The Tifecta 1.25 gr or the QAD Exodus 1.25 grain? You seem to like both really well based on your videos, but I’m curious as to whether you would prefer the single bevel vs the 3 blade for deer.
They're both really good. But I'd probably prefer the Trifecta 1.25 with that set up. But either one is excellent. I think the larger cut of the 3 blade for the Exodus is a bit larger...but the super thick blades of the Trifecta will make a really nice hole as well.
since your a broadhead specialist, maybe you could do a video on fixed blade tuning to clear the air. some “pros” say move the arrowrest toward the broadhead on let to rights, and some say move the arrowrest toward the field point. maybe you can clear the air since were at the door of hunting season and no one i know of has shot more of a variety of fixed blades than you. what do you think?
Been waiting patiently for the 125 croc video. Can you give some advice on the trifecta 125 vs the croc 125? Did the lighter croc test as well as the 200?
It's coming. They sold so well, they're getting a new batch and the owner asked if I could post the vid after that--will be in mid Sep. The 125 did VERY well.
***Which would you choose*** complete pass through with a smaller fixed blade broadhead or a larger cutting diameter mechanical that cuts wide but doesn't penetrate nearly as well ???
Man, it all depends on the animal and the shot placement. I typically want a VERY good chance at a pass thru. But I have taken some deer without a pass thru with a big mech and had incredible blood and short tracking job.
It did very well in both penetration tests. And how about that rotation? That will split some bones and make a wooden channel. That will be devastating.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures while I completely agree I’ve moved on from Single Bevels. Seems for me no matter the shot I just don’t have the blood on the ground I prefer. Multiple animals have been found dead by just wondering around because the blood trail is almost nonexistent. It’s 3 blades or mechanicals for me. But in all reality I’m ready to see more companies in the mechanical world start putting tool steel into their manufacturing process. Think Sevr 1.0? Shorter Ti-ferrul and tool steel blades with a magnet instead of an oring. Sign me up!
Hey John wanna try something kinda fun? If you have some old pants u can roll them waist to ankle about 2 pairs one into the other and shoot it with ur bow see what will pass through and what will get caught.
Hey John, I just received my Alien Archery SBT 150’s & they are now .080 instead of .060. Thought I’d update you & thanks for your testing. I’ll be trying these too.
I heard that. Thank you. They were supposed to send me some to test, a few different times. But then they’ve never showed up. I really want to test the newer models.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures John I spoke with him last night, and he said that he was on it and will get some to you I know he spent some time in the hospital and it also overlapped the redesign and re-tooling for the new 080 design I’m looking forward to additional testing…..hopefully soon
Right helical are available in 125 solid. LEFT helical single bevels got delayed at manufacturer. I shoot a left helical fletch. Owner says it wont matter but I tend to disagree. Any thought on this? I bought 6 of the rights and now may not use them. What do you think about this? Would it really matter?? Thanks in advance.
Yes, it does. It is placed forward so it remains a cut on contact head & increases FOC. And it is so small and so supported, it is more durable than most cut on contact blades.
Sucks their sold out of all three grain options at the moment. Speaks a lot of the quality and the fact Mr Lusk is the best salesman for broad heads in the , well world.
You are a testing warrior. I can’t wait to see how these work on whitetail this fall. Thanks John!
Thank you!

Very true. And you don’t necessarily get a bigger cut with more expensive Broadhads, that’s for sure.
Just ordered two packs of the 125 grain fixed heads. Thanks for the discount code. Can’t wait to send them flying.
Nice! Good luck.
That's awesome. I'm excited for the 150 grain head. I shot 150s.
Yep.
Wow ! Major penetration and great rotation. Super durability. 1.25 inch main cut and this is certainly a winner.

That gel had loads of perpendicular holes.
I did...as noted before, there were portions of the gel that had perpendicular holes, but the head did not impact those channels.

Absolutely stoked to run this head and the 150 grain version! Awesome job once again John!
Nice.
Great test as always John. Definitely an awesome broad head, penetration and rotation were excellent.
Right? Thank you

Thank you for helping all of us pick the best of the best. I’ll run my croc 200 this year but these trifecta’s are looking sexy deadlines

Wow 🤩 thank you for doing a great job as always! That’s some great broadhead!🏹🎯👍😁
Thank you
Based on what this head looks like I was not expecting this performance. I may have to give these a shot
Yeah, they do look different-but perform well.
I'm becoming more and more of a fan of these Trifectas. Going to keep with my Black Hornet SERazors for now but these will be my next.
:)
The amount of rotation is absolutely amazing! Now i want to shoot one! Great test again John!!

Went to the website to buy, but they only offer in right bevel from the looks of it and I need left 😢
Yeah, only in right now. I prefer that, so it doesn’t unscrew during penetration. And I use right fletched helical vanes
We have left coming out hopefully in September

Do I need to tune my bow if im shooting 100 gr broadheads? I wouldnt think 25 grains really would do anything. 55# draw. 29 inch draw length.
It typically affects very little. My point of impact from 100 & 125 is virtually the same out to 50 yds.

Test grim reaper 100gn hybrids!
I have tested them. If you go to my channel and search Lusk Grim Reaper, they will come up.
i dont like 90 degree angle blades just looks ugly and cartoonish like a Disney arrow and cuts easier if its tapered more than a sharp turn like that
Well, each one is only about 45 degrees. And that allows for excellent flight and penetration.
Usually You BUY 6 ARROWS/come in a pack of 6, I wonder where the Broad Head manufacturers came up with only 3 broad heads
I think it's because they get pretty pricey after that...and often times people want to try other heads.
