Mate, always good to see another mighty 1Hdfte. Even if the Euro model has some ad on accessories. Worthy to note, if the rocker cover hasn’t been off for a while, it can be a bit of a pain. Make sure you get the very rear bolt out too, then a few taps with a dead blow hammer on all around the sides should break the seal. Valve clearances should be done every 10,000km best practise, but I have pushed mine out to 20, 000km without issue. Also, change the rocker cover gasket each time. The rubber compound breaks down over time and heat. Best cruiser ever! Cheers, Matt 03 Sahara Aust.
Nice content. I have a 1999, 100 series 1 hdfte. Have had it for 20 years and she’s done 635,000 and still going well. My machine is a New Zealand new version (no ecg or other nonsense) Have never seen the swirl flap things. Are they a euro thing? If anyone is interested, I just did a 600 mileage road trip and worked out to 24 miles per gallon or 11.8 litres per hundred kms. This was empty. Towing a tandem trailer she’s down to around 18mpg or 15 l/100. Am running stock tyre size and lockup torque converter lockup switch.
Yeah they were fitted to years 2002 and above as far as I can tell. They work to increase the torque at low rpms, but they are prone to carbon buildup. Who makes that lockup switch?
Another great video. By the way, you said you broke off the end off the breathers, we've all done that. I fixed mine by drilling out the broken part and replacing it with a 4.8mm pop rivet, with the flat end ground off, then glue it in and put the little breather end back on. It sounds complicated but only takes 5 mins. Out of interest when your talking at the end of the clip, i can't help noticing the extra storage panels in the back, more details please.
I've got a couple of things made by Bison Gear who manufacture and ship from Poland. Not a lot of options here in the UK, but Bison have lots of things for the land cruiser
Nice work! EGR delete works great. Is your Cruiser always so hard to start? My LC starts immediately almost No need for key.😅especially after DIY 3" exhaust and removed catalyst converter which was completely glogged!
No video. I just spent 6 months( Finnish winter) repairing my LC: outer sill panels, painted and coated underbody, cv repair, bigger intercooler and piping, fuel cut defender and manual boost controller etc. I made side exhaust with one 50 cm muffler and it sounds so beautiful and brutal same time. When driving under 40 km/h you can hear turbo whistle and some grunting. But when driving on highway it is silent , at least from inside the cabin.😅 I can make video now that I have finished my repairs( it is never over though) 😎
Honestly, loving all this landcruiser content, please keep the videos coming thick and fast.
I'm trying! I don't have as much time as I used to, but I'll keep them coming every few weeks I think.
@landcruiserscotland ayyy mate do ya best. The vids are ace and will happily stay subscribed and will wait for each video to drop
bardzo się cieszę, że nagrywasz filmy z toyotą, też mam taki samochód i twoje poradniki są pomocne

7:49 Was really hoping you would call it a wee laddie…
Cheers from America! Will be using this heavily upon importing a Euro spec HDJ100!
From now on it shall be known as the wee laddie! I like it!
Thank you very much for very helpful Land Cruiser videos mate 👍
Glad to be useful, hope the upcoming ones are also good for everyone

I disabled my EGR on my fte by disconnecting the vacuum line and had a full intake clean. We hace strict rules in Australia so need to appear factory.
How bad was the carbon buildup? Did you check the whole inlet manifold or just the egr device?

Good job! Glad to have found a similar Amazon 👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!

It only starts like that when the injection pipes have been off. System needs to prime on that first start. Every other time though it's instant
@@landcruiserscotland of course. My bad.
By any chance do you have a video if your 3 inch exhaust? I wonder what it sounds like from the outside

Be keen on a tech screen tutorial. Been thinking of getting it. Don’t know where to start. Thanks.
Start with getting a smelly old laptop, and I'll do a video guide soon!
egine needs good wash
Funny you should say that, I had my brushes out yesterday doing it! I thought the same thing when I watched the video
