Backwards Bob would be cool in today’s monster jam with drivers doing nose wheelies in 2-wheel skills and see it looking right side up because of how the truck drives
Bull Dozer, yes... though its cousin, El Toro is still running. Same molds different color, so technically not retired. Predator/Reptoid predate Bulldozer in the "3D" body style because they were based off of Snakebite that ran with the Bigfoot team and were still under USHRA "Superbowl of Motorsports" and Feld's Monster Jam didn't exist. This is when you could see Grave Digger, Bigfoot, Bearfoot, Carolina Crusher (Red/Yellow scheme) Gunslinger, Snakebite, Monster Patrol, Black Stallion all compete before all the BS that lead up to Feld's Monster Jam that turned it into a cash cow rather than a old school family event. (Back when the pit access was FREE and you could buy your tickets at NAPA instead of Ticketdisaster)
you kow which truck predates all 3d trucks? dan patrick in SAMSON! who could forget those two big arms?! and his chassis was one of the original modern chassis that bigfoot racer used when it got banned for a whole season
Just saw Mike Harper’s Monster Truck Wars, with Outlaw, Sheriff, Equalizer, and Shark Attack. Word is Sheriff is going to be retired next year and replaced by a new truck, I’m now thinking it’s going to be Bulldozer.
A lot of this footage made me really nostalgic for the Advance Auto Parts title sponsorship era. Path Of Destruction video game will always be a perfect time capsule of it, Grinder and all ❤
Dude I started working at Advance Auto Parts right around that time when they had that sponsorship at Monster Jam, one of my duties was to put out a big blow up Grinder Truck on our Lawn in front of the store. It was a pain to fold it back at the end of the day, but it was all worth when the kids would drag their parents into the store just to see the Grinder and take Selfies with it.
An escallade honestly was the most bizarre one to kid me. I remember seeing it roar along the arena in San Antonio when I was a kid one summer night. No name fixed to it, no tampographing like the other, just a Cadillac body with spinners. Bulldozer though always bewildered me when it disappeared from merch. Had me asking "What happened to Bulldozer?"
I had the Bigfoot toy and my brother had Snake Bite. Good ol days. Monster Patrol and Grave Digger were who I was always hyped up to see because of my dad
Guy Wood debuted the truck first and had next to no success with it at all and the only real time it saw any success was when Tom Meents drove the truck in 1999 after that Tom passed the truck and it was flip flopped between Rob Knell and Eldon Depeu (butchered both last names most likely sorry lol) and Guy Wood didn't return with the truck until before WF3 and then I believe it disappeared for a good while until Chuck Werner brought it out of retirement to keep things short while I agree there should be a video review of the drivers it's kind of pointless given there really weren't that many and as said the only real success the truck had was when Tom drove it in 1999
@@theunhingedgamer3762 It saw some good shows after Tom moved over to Goldberg. If it wasn't as good as you're making it out to be then it wouldn't be as popular as it is even today.
And while these are independents, Prowler, Pouncer, and Predator would be cool to see come back. Along with Snake Bite and Reptoid. And the obscure truck called Towasaurus Wrecks. had a calendar as a kid with that truck on it that I didn't even know existed at the time. If I sat long enough I'm sure i could come up with a bunch more trucks that I've forgotten about over the years, too
My list would have been 10. Superman 9. Captains Curse 8. VP Racing Fuels Mad Scientist 7. Bulldozer 6. Team Hot Wheels Firestorm 5. Backwards Bob 4. Lucas Oil Crusader 3. Grave Digger The Legend 2. Advanced Auto Parts Grinder 1. Monster Energy
The days of AAP Grinder and path of destruction coming out were my peak years as a monster jam fan. Always loved the paint scheme and how stylish it was. Been a long time since I’ve watched monster jam but man is this making me miss my childhood. Still have a box full of the hot wheels trucks under my bed at home, and some of them when the chassis were still metal
I never forget the very short-lived Safe Auto Minimizer. Its one world finals run lasted longer than the truck’s lifespan lol Prowler and Brutus are others I liked
I really love Grave Digger The Legend. It's such a beautiful monster truck ever. Dennis said that the blue and gray paint job costs $600 back in 1983. Which in current inflation, that's $1,784.80
I never knew about the Escalade, but a Cadillac Escalade monster truck with spinners and neon lights is so perfectly 2005 it almost hurts lol I graduated high school in 2005 and this truck makes way too much sense given the time frame
This video is making me feel old. I haven’t kept up with monster jam in a while, and all the trucks I remember seeing a decade or even 2 decades ago are retired and I didn’t even know it lol.
Monster Jam is missing so much nowadays man Look at this list 1. The old Maximum Destruction 2. Blue Thunder 3. Grindr 4. Pastrana 199 5. Captain’s Curse 6. The US Air Force Afterburner 7. Black Stallion 8. Destroyer 9. King Krunch 10. Escalade 11. Team Hotwheels Firestorm 12. Northern Nightmare 13. Safe Auto Minimizer 14. Bounty Hunter (the classic) 15. Grave Digger the Legend 16. AmsOil Shock Therapy 17. Madusa 18. Mopar Magic 19. Backdraft 20. Nitro Circus All that’s left is multiple Grave Diggers, El Toro, the Mutts, random stuff like sharks and dragons I swear there’s like 4-5 non Digger/Animal-theme trucks
technically Captain's Curse isn't its own truck on the grounds of Pablo actually debuted it at one of the WF shows and retired Blacksmith which technically makes it 1 truck and not 2 as it's Blacksmith only with a different name and paint scheme with the same chassis same thing goes for Team Meents/Goldberg the chassis wasn't changed but the paint scheme of the body was so it's still one truck technically and not 2
Yeah, but they are still 2 separate identities. By that logic, Lupe Soza’s Grinder and El Toro Loco are the same truck because they both ran on the same chassis.
I painted the first 3 versions of little tiger for the owner ,, after i painted his street truck, and he liked it a lot , he was really good with long wheelies !
Hi Jackson! Captain’s Curse debuted at WF8, the same event where Pablo Huffaker won the freestyle championship. The latter was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
I’ve been to a Monster Jam show all the way back in 2009 or 2010. When they came to Philadelphia. Gives good old memories! Though it’s a shame Backwards Bob hasn’t came back yet. Most memorable due to looking like he’s driving backwards and the design of the truck is eye catching. Also here are some honorable mentions that I’m surprised you didn’t put in the video: Buckshot Hot Wheels 2Xtreme Backdraft Bear Foot
Buckshot and Hot Wheels are the only retired trucks in that list, and Hot Wheels was apart the honorable mentions. Backdraft and Bear Foot still compete today, and 2xtreme racing operates their own independent monster truck tour which they compete in currently. Oh, and about Buckshot, it probably doesn’t deserve any spot on any list of best retired trucks. If you don’t remember why it was retired in the first place, google the drivers’ name.
When I was younger I fell in love with monster trucks. I would watch on tv, get merch, etc. my favorite truck was the grave digger trucks. So much so that I have like 5 of the grave digger toy trucks. Like 10 years later I met Dennis Anderson at a local car show. Cool experience to meet the first person I had idolized when I was young!
I mis Grave Digger the Legend. I remember meeting Adam at the Sprint now T-Mobile Center in Kansas for a non televised arena show. Me and twin brother got to meet him, and we were both so excited. Nicest driver you'll ever meet. after that event he became my second favorite driver behind Jimmy Createn. I can't find the pic we took with him but i do have a pic of me and my brother with John Zimmer when he drove Grave Digger at the same show.
My top 3 are Goldberg, Bulldozer and Sting! It's shame these paintjobs are are retired but makes sense considering WCW died long ago, being a wrestling fan I hope one day Monster Jam and WWE get to cross paths in future events outside of the diecast models like when Stone Cold had the custom 3:16 Monster Truck.
I had a bunch of the diecast trucks before they started maken them all plastic like 2009 to like 11 when the body’s where metal and they had like detailed tub chassis and bulldozer was my absolute favorite truck out there along with blacksmith and blue thunder this video took me back to the good days
I'd argue against Goldberg/Meents being on the list for the simple reason that it is the exact same thing as Max-D, like same team, same trucks, just a different branding in the name. It's be one thing if it was just another team using the same body and maybe the same driver here and there (think of all the SUVs using the Escalade body) but Goldberg - Meents - Max-D is literally the same exact thing.
Wild Thang’s actually not retired. Triple B Motorsports owns it, and they ran it for a few shows last year with the Ozz Monster body at Granite City Motor Park. It hasn’t competed since, but based on a 2024 teaser that Triple B just put on their Instagram today, Wild Thang’s full-time return could be imminent. 👀
I remember seeing the Escalade in Salinas California and met the driver with my grandma and grandpa as a kid and got the signatures from him and many others like Tom Meents or Meentz so many great memories.
I still have such clear, nostalgic memories of Bulldozer from the old days of watching the Monster Jam TV-show in 2004. Me and my younger brother, being between 4 and 6 years old respectively at the time, viewed it as one of the most badass-looking monster trucks we had ever seen in the show (next to Grave Digger), and the drivers of it were great in general. Like many fans, part of me wishes for it's possible return, but the other part of me is about as much of an equally big fan of it's current successor (that is El Toro Loco).
I guess I'm too old school, I don't remember any of these trucks except for Blacksmith, and pretty much only because it's a '41 Willys. I still love Bounty Hunter and Scarlet Bandit, I always thought they were top notch but maybe more inline with old school owners/drivers I remember like Bearfoot, Monster Patrol and Predator which I'm pretty sure never drove Monster Jam.
All of those trucks did compete in Monster Jam, and none of them are retired. Also, how do you remember Blacksmith but not Bulldozer? Bulldozer is 3 years older than Blacksmith.
I really hope grave digger the legend comes back! I love that look! Backwards bob would be awesome too! Man so many of these trucks were around when I was growing up n me n my dad watched monster jam all the time! It’s bringing back so many memories!
Blacksmith would be down to if Pablo wants to bring the truck back since technically both that and Captain's Curse were his trucks especially since Captain's Curse was debuted so that he could retire Blacksmith and focus on driving Grave Digger
@@theunhingedgamer3762 the chassis's might have been Pablo's but FELD owned the names/rights to blacksmith and Captain's curse. Pablo or whoever would have to make FELD an offer they cant refuse to get either BS or CC back active
Oh gosh I just remembered the thing I remember seeing that in Minneapolis when I was a kid and yes bull dozer was my favorite truck I remember on the gameboy monster truck game I’d always play bull dozer, grave digger and backwards bob
I miss the monster jam of the mid 2000s, not really any sponsored based trucks, most of the field was made up of independents, crusher cars, drivers were allowed to keep going even of the truck was mangled, and almost every race event had photo finishes, that was the best time to watch monster jam
Here are my favorite FELD owned retired trucks. 1. Bulldozer 2. Grave Digger The Legend 3. Backwards Bob 4. Advanced Auto Parts Grinder 5. Taz 6. Captain’s Curse/Blacksmith 7. U.S. Air Force Afterburner 8. Nitro Circus 9. All of the superhero trucks 10. Donkey Kong
Grinder should replace Metal Millisua’s spot because he is such a memorable truck I have a monster jam movie with him in it and I think he is a awesome truck. So he takes Metal Millisua’s spot on this top 10 board
My list would have been something like this Air Force after Burner Nitro circus Captains curse King crunch Grave digger the legend Grinder Escalade Scarlet bandit Backwards bob Hot wheels
Idk in my opinion Max-D is the same truck as Goldberg or Team Meents. Team Meents was just a placeholder for Max-D after WCW got bought out by WWE. Around that same time the Austin 3:16 and The Rock monster trucks were also retired. So all the wrestling themed monster trucks all ended up either being rethemed or parted out. I would say the same thing for Bulldozer and El Toro Loco but the El Toro Loco and Bulldozer to my knowledge never shared drivers in common when the only drivers for Max-D, Goldberg, and Team Meents was Tom Meents and Neil Elliot. As well Bulldozer was on a totally different chassis.
not really the truck had to be retired tbh given that it's technically Pablo's truck (unless Alex Blackwell bought it off of him) and since 3D bodied trucks are the trend currently it was obvious they were gonna replace it with Pirates Curse that said I do agree it was a silly move but it is what it is and if that body of truck were to come back I'd prefer it to be for Pablo's retirement run if he hasn't retired yet
What about the old TNT monstertruck style race I use to watch it back in the early 80s and 90s names like Bigfoot n Grave digger kept It interesting they were fast n full of act can't monster jam make a track like TNT racing
Also I really miss Blue Thunder (2010-2011 concept), Superman, BackDraft, AAP Grinder, Nitro Circus, Iron Man and Dragon's Breath Nice video! Greetings from Colombia 🟨🟦🟥
I can't believe you didn't give an honourable mention to Air Force Afterburner!
You know, I’m more of a fan of Sponsor Trucks.
Technically "an Escalade" was AFA years later.. it ran in tandem with Monster Energy truck (which became Mohawk warrior)
YES
Yeah I know I love that truck
I got some signed stuff by Monster Energy team
Backwards Bob would be cool in today’s monster jam with drivers doing nose wheelies in 2-wheel skills and see it looking right side up because of how the truck drives
I like backwards bob it just goid
Technically, whenever Backwards Bob does a backflip, it does a frontflip
Bruh. If Backwards Bobs does those nose wheelies, it'd look like it's doing the grave digger's signature tombstone.
Well now we’ll get to know
He’s back!! Debuted at the spokane arena, he looks very strange driving around
How is bulldozer "technically not retired"? The body and chassis are not ran anymore. Hence it's retired.
Monster Jam is infinitely better than whatever the hell superbowl of motorsports was supposed to be.
Man reading through that list of trucks REALLY brought back memories from my childhood. Thank you!

yeah for me that era and the original Monster Jam era before it gave me a ton of great memories
Too bad we will never see that era again. Monster Jam is a sell out and now all they have is the same dirt ramps and barely any crush cars.

I really hope grave digger the legend comes back! I love that look! Backwards bob would be awesome too! Man so many of these trucks were around when I was growing up n me n my dad watched monster jam all the time! It’s bringing back so many memories!
The goldberg truck got me into monster trucks still one of my all time favorites
Bring back GDL, Bulldozer, and Blacksmith 2023!!!
I absolutely love Grave Digger in its black green and purple livery it’s one of my most favourite monster trucks it’s sad to see it retired
Grave Digger is not retired.
I thought you would have remembered Monster Patrol is a top truck on my list that I love and love watching
Monster Patrol is not retired.
You gotta love the Path of destruction music.so nostalgic
As a kid bulldozer and bigfoot were my favorite trucks. Miss watching both of them.
1. Bulldozer
2. Grave Digger The Legend
3. Backwards Bob
4. Advanced Auto Parts Grinder
5. Taz
6. Captain’s Curse/Blacksmith
7. U.S. Air Force Afterburner
8. Nitro Circus
9. All of the superhero trucks
10. Donkey Kong
All of these cars are giving me flashbacks ❤️
Grinder should replace Metal Millisua’s spot because he is such a memorable truck I have a monster jam movie with him in it and I think he is a awesome truck. So he takes Metal Millisua’s spot on this top 10 board
4:23 Doomes Day in the Carrier Dome. Was amazing
Monster Patrol was cool
Actually, Monster Patrol isn’t retired. It still competes.
My list would have been something like this
Air Force after Burner
Nitro circus
Captains curse
King crunch
Grave digger the legend
Grinder
Escalade
Scarlet bandit
Backwards bob
Hot wheels
Scarlet Bandit and King Krunch are not retired.
6:30 don’t forget about him crashing into a tree during World Finals racing 😭
Snake Bite, Monster Patrol, Predator, Boogie Van, Thunder Chicken, War Wagon...man, why do I feel so old?
All of those trucks are not retired, except for War Wagon, which retired in 2021.
The kid picked his noise at 7:55 in the video
Choosing Pirate's Curse over Captain's Curse is one of MJ's biggest Ls.
Agreed
Idk man I really like both, but I’d actually argue I slightly prefer Pirate’s Curse. If I want a 1941 Willy’s body truck I’m going Blacksmith.
For real
not really the truck had to be retired tbh given that it's technically Pablo's truck (unless Alex Blackwell bought it off of him) and since 3D bodied trucks are the trend currently it was obvious they were gonna replace it with Pirates Curse
that said I do agree it was a silly move but it is what it is and if that body of truck were to come back I'd prefer it to be for Pablo's retirement run if he hasn't retired yet
@@knyte8706 I agree to this Blacksmith>
What about the old TNT monstertruck style race I use to watch it back in the early 80s and 90s names like Bigfoot n Grave digger kept It interesting they were fast n full of act can't monster jam make a track like TNT racing
Also I really miss Blue Thunder (2010-2011 concept), Superman, BackDraft, AAP Grinder, Nitro Circus, Iron Man and Dragon's Breath
Nice video! Greetings from Colombia 🟨🟦🟥
When I started watching monster jam, escalade was my favorite truck
The biggest rearview mirror in monsterjam. My favorite growing up.
That escalate chassis was used for 17.7 tje fox machine truck once
7:37 Todd: “I WON I WON!!”
Son Uva Digger: “Donut”
Anyone know what happened to bro dozer? I feel like that truck just disappeared.
One truck I’m surprised didn’t make the list is Blue Thunder
Blue Thunder is not retired.
