I don't think it'll look as well as lace tends to be see through and you're going to get multiple layers seen at the bottom. Instead, I would look for lace that has the scalloped edge already on the border. I just did a video on creating a lace hem here: th-cam.com/video/rWwVziPOp1c/w-d-xo.html
