It took me until one of the HHH fights to notice that you were switching signature special moves to match many of your opponents. Stone Cold Stunner/Pedigree/Tombstone etc.
Each championship has a path for both challenger and champion. The first campaign you will always be the challenger, no matter who you choose. Once you have completed that first path, you can either pick the same wrestler and follow the champions path or choose a different wrestler and follow a different challenger path.

@@Josue-Zyou have to do every path possible both as a champion and a challenger, meaning you have to lose some matches to progress to different storylines.
@@Josue-Z If before you start the match it says something like "the story will change depending on the outcome" then that means in order to get 100% you have to lose that match and then play the rest of the story. If it says "the only requirement is to win" and shows the number of continues, then you can only win that match.
I don't think that was a good strategy for the Royal Rumble. Those irish whips are easy to get countered, and if you try to hit someone that another computer is focusing on, they could end up hitting you out too. I think it's a much safer (but slower) strategy to hit them close to the ropes and hope a strong hit puts them on the outside, and of course don't get near a computer player that is switched on another computer player on the ropes.
It's a successful and common strategy to use. There are risks, of course, but there's a risk with every strategy. The CPU can easily get in the way in the blink of an eye and ruin everything.

This game dumb hard when you get up to Kane in this mode and I always get eliminated in the royal rumble part as the last of 5 people smh.

It's based on the storyline that had Triple H as champion, yes but that doesn't mean you can't play it as someone else.
