This scene really captures something beautiful. Despite the fact that both groups prank each other, nothing about it feels malicious. Rather, it all feels like it's in good fun. Teenagers simply enjoying life. Johnny B. Goode playing in the background, the playful smiles John and Carol give each other, the little dance they do at the end. This whole scene perfectly encapsulates pure, simple, teenage fun. What a wonderful film.❤
It’s why the movie will always feel special I didn’t grow up in this time but this was a time when things were just fun and innocent before everything that the later 60s brought upon us and middle class Americans
I knew a girl that looked exactly like her at that age. She even sounded the same when she laughed or raised her voice. What a doll. She married a complete dunderhead of an alcoholic couch potato lout right out of high school and has remained faithful to the seldom-employed virtual dependent deadweight for over 30 years. I've always felt so bad that I could have given her a much better quality life.
This is so great! I've always loved pranks, such as them shaving creming the windows and flattening their tires. These girls are stuck in the middle of the road. Giggle. ;) I remember as a teenager, we found some gals skinny dipping. So we flattened their tires and took their clothes and sneakers. Giggle. ;)

Milner's reaction was hilarious.
When making Hollywood movies was fun, not so much today
The water balloon wasn't supposed to hit Mackenzie Phillips directly in the face; this was an accident, but of course this turned out to be perfect.

Mackenzie was starting to laugh, and checked herself.
Pure joy
BEWARE: Any time a "young lady" who looks as good as that girl did asks, "Do you want me to give it to you" there is something wrong!!!
