Solapur - Mangalvedha road has now become 4 lane highway. Now we can travel very smoothly.. It runs from Ratnagiri to Solapur (NH No,166)
Begampur (now Ghodeshwar) is also a very beautiful village on the banks of Bhima river. Aurangzeb's daughters who died while her father was encamped at Brahmapuri on the opposite bank of the Bhima. She was buried at Begampur and her tomb is a plain solid structure in a courtyard 180 feet square. It overhangs the Bhima from which it is guarded by a strong masonry wall recently re-built. Local residents of the village, with no barriers of religion, visit the tomb.
I have many times visited Machnur Siddeshwar Maharaj temple which is very beautiful.
Mangalvedha is famous for Saint Damaji Temple..Saint Gaibi Pir temple. Further it is very famous for jowar crop.. and very healthy and tasty Bhakari (bread)...
