@@GhostLightXE definitely a TH-cam masterpiece. And I have to say with your narration, storytelling and research is putting this series at the same level but with a completely different experience
this some good content, I love finding other TH-camrs that have such an appreciation for complicated sci-fi lore which sci-fi is my favorite genre like cyberpunk and the Kardashev scale, and when I got this game, I was not expecting the amount of condensed world building that I can’t get enough of, world building is one of my favorite parts of game design is learning the world through the characters and world you’re put in, it makes it feel so much more real when I’m playing it and makes me want to explore to figure out all of these mysteries and choose my own side, subscribed.
Welcome and thank you so much! 🙏 I’ve been playing since launch but never truly appreciated the lore until I started making these videos. Now I can’t get enough!!!
16 glyphs, so there should be 16 Elixer of blood types? Im wearing my foil hat and looking into lore of dreams about green skies, obsidian moons and oceans of blood. Maybe there are 16 moon types, 16 fragments, and 16 glyphs. One blood type per moon that are echoes of Korvax Prime in a fragmented way. The combined moons would make Korvax Prime whole again
Well - the abandoned building lore is a little disjoined, with various authors doing unrelated things at various time. Interestingly, the “oceans of blood” passage was been around since the game released, before any of the modern lore of NMS was updated to the game. The events of Odvinsko seems to speak more to the failings of the boundaries of the multiverse, with the author finding a seemly alternate or future versions of themselves - green skies and obsidian moon was the description of the planet that they ultimately found destroyed. The origins of elixirs of blood are still unclear - I have a theory about how they relate to each location but I’m still working on my second play through.
Indeed! A post-traumatic stress induced reaction! Thank you greatly! I truly appreciate it. I’m very excited to dive into these last 2 arcs of new lore and tie it all together.
Thank you for making this video. So many people know absolutely nothing about the lore and make insane assumptions that are as far from right as one can get. Anyways, I’m so excited to see how this story concludes!
You’re very welcome! That’s why I started this lore series - I wanted to make speculation videos but would find that I didn’t know enough to draw any conclusions. So glad to hear you’re enjoying this one!

Yeah, i love the video amd i think you have the best conceptualization ive heard on TH-cam about how the things are connected. Unless i missed it though i believe you left out one very important thing: nanomachines, son. The currency the gek and all of use use is the remnants of korvax prime and the stuff of the korvax/aeron/sentinels. Its a sentient grey goop. Regretfully the best analogy i have is what they did to the venom symbiote origin retcon in marvel comics.
Thank you! …and don’t worry - all “Dark Times” of the Korvax and how they subjugated their oppressors are covered in the video I’m working on now. Starts with the “Dark Times” and ends just before Interceptor.
@@GhostLightXE groovy. I've got to go catch up on chapter one. I'm new to the game and think I have a major data gap in regards to Telemon and some other lore. I thought I finally found most of the story and opened a door and found a terminal I've not seen before but haven't crafted remembrance on this save file.
@@GhostLightXE your pronunciation has 3 T's. It sounds like you're saying "exTistential" rather than "exIStential". It's funny to me because you pronounce existence perfectly. No hate, love the videos. Didn't even realize NMS had lore until I found part 1 😅
That’s a tough one. Typically the AIs create life through simulations that it’s running - like, we’re actually playing the game from inside one of the atlas’ simulations, internally. It’s unclear if the Atlantid played a role in converting the Korvax from biological to technological beings. It’s kind of implied but never confirmed. The subsequent AIs cant create new life in our simulation outright. Only the atlas can.
@@GhostLightXE The Atlantid is currently able to effect the universe. It stands to reason that the other two would have that ability as well. Maybe the Gek's AI influenced the evolution of the Gek.
True, it can effect the universe around it but not create and edit it as the Atlas can. That’s why her influence is so weak in her current state, she doesn’t have write access. She read only. Now, she MAY have influence of simulation 19 on the prime terminal! That make be something!
Edit: Since alantid is atlas i think it is the same supercomputer as the atlas. How they could have seperated due to the million of years of simulation and then the atlas Sub-systen became self-aware or through the stress of not knowing their fate. I think proof of thing interconflict is how aspect of the atlas are always fighting each other in the simulation. Gek V Korvax, and Vk'yeen V the sentinels.
The lore says the Atlantid was born of an earlier version of the Atlas, which is a bit of a nod to Waking Titan. And being a brain formed in the void, there isn’t anything linking the Atlantid’s creation to the Atlas - but at this point it’s anyone’s guess!
@@GhostLightXE Well you defiantly know more than me. Me reasoning is that they both can alter the atlas's simulation. so i wouldnt know any other reason why adlantid could do so if it wasent a part of the computer
@@keetoeg This is true. I don't think they are one and the same, they are both similar entities that I think may end up joining at some point... BUT... the Atlantid is something unique in the simulation and she has been slowly gaining power over the simulation over time. I don't think of it as being the same computer (technically this is ALL happening in the same computer), that's why I say it's all about software. Even the hardware of the Atlas is technically just part of a simulation of its own - if you believe Waking Titan.
Im new to the game, a few days of play, but what if all this is a simulation within a simulation, if that "more compact" atlas, the one brought with us when we abandoned the atlas, is simulating what happened to its predecessor
@@GhostLightXE I think it would be really interesting to find out that all of this was the dream of a machine mourning the loss of its predicessor Dreaming of what it must have been like for atlas, what it would have tried to do Edit: not that it isn't interesting now, it's sort of beautiful in a way, but part of me hopes that something, someone, comes to save atlas
@@GhostLightXE I was only stating a preference. I don't know if its ever been said aloud by HG. But your content is amazing! There is an annoying Bootstrap Paradox that holds up the lore of NMS that everyone just ignores. There are two constants across all universes of the Atlas. The Atlas and the Sentinels. The galaxies are not in synch in time. This means that some universes are millions to billions of years ahead of others. There are multiple contradictions in the story we are given and it's due to this time dilation. The first offense was neither Sentinel nor First Spawn. It was the First Traveler and every traveler. The first sentinel screamed when we cut it open. Whenever this happened the sentinels became hostile across all galaxies in all times. The First Spawn destroyed Korvax Prime in part as retribution for the genocide on Balareon but the destruction of Korvax Prime is what we are told brought the Sentinels back... But the vykeen had already been fighting the sentinels. The Korvax were forced to take human form by the gek but the Korvax were already making living ship biological mechanical hybrids before Korvax Prime was destroyed. I appreciate your video. I think the Atlas and Atlantid have a relationship similar to Izanagi and Izanami in that they are seventh generation gods confused for prime creators. They are brother and sister, father and mother, pattern and matrix. There is a deeper story that is kind of out there but it seems like humanity's last hope was to enter the Atlas as sentient echos and live in the time dilation as the 16 minutes count down. Nada's simulation in the matrix is our escape into another lower level giving us the 19th minute.
Subnote: in my head cannon the First Spawn we meet in the base archive computer is the Echo of Nal in the world of glass. The reptilian Vykeen are the evolved remnants of the amphibious First Spawn who left the spawning pools to escape the nanites.
I talk a bit about the asynchronous nature of the multiverse a bit in this video. I like where you’re going with this but your making a few leaps that contradict some of the in-game source. First: Laylaps - cutting into laylaps and the relationship it builds with that traveler (who I’d like to link to null but there is t enough evidence to confirm) was setup by the Void Mother. She’s the one who named him saying it would be a name familiar to the traveler. So, Korvax Prime would have already been destroyed at that point, at least some universes. I don’t know that there is canonical evidence for the “who shot first” debate between the Vy’keen and sentinels but considering the technophobic nature of the former and the peaceful nature of the latter (pre-korvax prime destruction), my money would be on the Vy’keen. Interesting thought about escaping to Nada’s simulation though. The void mother’s plan involves converging all travelers “in the form of null” to reconstruct the creator (its in the upcoming video) so I wonder why she would need the creator of Nada already has a simulation? Hmm…
Sorry - forgot to mention. The destruction of Korvax Prime brought the sentinels back - the war with the Vy’keen had pushed them further into the outer edge, away from Korvax Prime. I talk about this a bit in that video as well as reference the in-game content.
@@GhostLightXE I believe it was one of the boundary failures that gave the story of the sentinels committing genocide on Balareon as one of the first instances of system failure. The contradictions are kind of my point. The lore is canonically contradictory hence the anomaly. I only focus on the first traveler killing the first sentinel as the first offense as it seems to be the story that comes up the most often and Null is very vague about what exactly he did and there are many instances where the game seems to be hinting that the sentinels are as "human" as the travelers or at least that the travelers, sentinels, Korvax, vykeen and gek are all more related than seem at first appearance.
@@GhostLightXE I just started the chapter one video and it already referenced things I hadn't heard anyone bring up before. How they were testing if their universe was the real world or a simulation by measuring for lag when running their own simulation of the universe is brilliant and should be in more sci Fi. I figure that rather than crossing comments I should make a better summary of what I mean and shoot you a long form message later on. One of the things I find appealing about this game is how my perception of things has changed over multiple playthroughs. First time through, Nada was a helpful friendly stranger with a Lifeboat archiving data about their universe and giving anomalies a home. Playing the Artemis path after the recent expedition give many of her lines subjective meaning.
Haha. Thank you? It’s not, but I’ve thought about using one of those AI voice apps to automate my voiceovers using my own voice as a reference. That’d make everything so much easier.

If anyone hasn't seen The Internet Historian's "The Ingoodening of No Man's Sky" video, you should. I watch it every time i hear news about big NMS updates and its just as good as ever. And it gives a really thoughtful opinion wrapped in comedy. A must see
Yes! It’s fantastic and I think of it often. Lol
@@GhostLightXE definitely a TH-cam masterpiece. And I have to say with your narration, storytelling and research is putting this series at the same level but with a completely different experience
@@McLovinMods 🙏
Started playing a couple days ago! Liked and subbed!
Welcome to the channel AND the simulation!
this some good content, I love finding other TH-camrs that have such an appreciation for complicated sci-fi lore which sci-fi is my favorite genre like cyberpunk and the Kardashev scale, and when I got this game, I was not expecting the amount of condensed world building that I can’t get enough of, world building is one of my favorite parts of game design is learning the world through the characters and world you’re put in, it makes it feel so much more real when I’m playing it and makes me want to explore to figure out all of these mysteries and choose my own side, subscribed.
Welcome and thank you so much! 🙏
I’ve been playing since launch but never truly appreciated the lore until I started making these videos.
So that’s why the sentinels go psycho when I just want to harvest some carbon. Great video btw, I can’t wait to see what else you have in store.
Really wow... Just the second video so far but this is fantastic. I played on and off for the first few updates so not much story then so this is a nice way to catch up since I started playing again. NMS was the last game I ever Pre-orderd. It was that bad at release lol.
Thank you! Yeah, I hear you. I pre-ordered and played for a very short time. Picked it back up after Atlas rises. It’s definitely redeemed itself but that doesn’t stop them from continually trying. Lol
@@GhostLightXE their development cycle is amazingly innovative. From what I can tell they are testing Light No Fire features in NMS. Not only does it extensively test features for LNF but it keeps NMS alive and fresh.
Absolutely loving this series. Subscribed!
I truly appreciate it! Welcome to the channel!
*Dammit, I am getting mindblown by all these damn AI therioes & crazy realities you are hitting us with... And then I look at the subsciber count & it's "6.66" subscriptions 😂😂*

You're the mynameisbyf of no Man's sky and I'm here for it. Keep this up, never give it up. Voice is on point, if you are looking for other projects to do, may I suggest reading short stories and such.
Thank you! I truly appreciate that. I’ve really been enjoying making the content for the channel, especially the scripting and voice work. I’d love to branch of into some other voice stuff - the short stories idea is interesting. Maybe stories submitted by the community? That’d be fun!
Thanks for the vid mate, I instantly subscribed 😁

Great! I’m glad you liked the first two! Welcome to the channel!
Nice video! Your voice massages my brain... Get out of my head! 😂
No! I’m in here now! Lol. Thank you, much appreciated!
Ay, bro, just wanted to let you know I subbed. Your voice is pretty killer and you seem to have a good mic too. And perhaps the initial reason I clicked on the video, the lore. I definitly appreciate a nice long format video for the lore as I've definitly been looking to learn more about NMS's universe. So I just wanted to let you know this is appreciated.
Fantastic! I truly appreciate that. I LOVE the lore of NMS and I enjoy finding others who feel the same! Thank you for your support and welcome to the channel! I JUST started a discord, which I’ve just started populating with ship/MT finds, but also a lore discussion board. Hope to see more of you around the channel!

ADHD VIEWERS READ THIS: We can all agree this guys content is f*cking awesome! By far the most detailed account of lore I have personally ever come across.
If you're like me, and it took you 5+ sittings to watch ep1. Try putting the video on 1.25x speed. I made it through this whole thing without me getting distracted!
😬 I start talking faster as the episodes go on! Lol
But also, thank you for the kind words! Truly appreciated
@@GhostLightXE dude I mean no disrespect I love your content and your narrative provides an incredibly moody atmosphere. I'm just a bit wonky upstairs and go off on internal tangents because of what you're saying lol ❤️🙌
@@Dorenchno worries! It was some feedback I got early on that I took to heart. I’m glad you’re enjoying the series! I hope to have a new chapter soon!
@@GhostLightXE dude please don't take it to heart! Honestly your narrative is perfect for anyone who isn't wonky like me. Which is the vast majority! It provides such a moody atmosphere and room for ponder.

Subbed, bell rung. This was a great 2 parter
Thanks! I truly appreciate that!
My theory is that the Atlantid is what remains of Loop16 in the Atlas' programming 🤔
It’s IS said to be created from an early version of the Atlas…
Great delivery man. You really have a good storytelling voice👍 got me hooked🙏

Happy to help! Working on the next one now!
Very good storytelling, its all making sense now.
Yay! We’ve solved it! Definitely excited to FINALLY start the dive into the Expedition parts of the lore.
There’s so much and it’s so convoluted. Online resources have really helped me.
You pronounce “existential” just like my nephew. Makes me smile every time. 😊
This comment has me repeating the word existential over and over just to see if I can hear what you’re talking about.
What about my Uncle? Did you give him a chance?! Did you?!
@@BullyMaguireMaguire Uncle Ben?
@@GhostLightXE I need to install your voice in my exosuit. Great stuff man!
@@GhostLightXE your pronunciation has 3 T's. It sounds like you're saying "exTistential" rather than "exIStential". It's funny to me because you pronounce existence perfectly. No hate, love the videos. Didn't even realize NMS had lore until I found part 1 😅
We're building bases loosely based on game lore before the destruction of Korvax Prime. For anyone interested in joining:
Euclid:
096B:005C:0499:0007
Love that!
What if the First Spawn were created by the Gek's own Atlas-like AI, who may have been jealous of Korvax Prime.
It could be!
@@GhostLightXE I think it would be really interesting to find out that all of this was the dream of a machine mourning the loss of its predicessor
Dreaming of what it must have been like for atlas, what it would have tried to do
Edit: not that it isn't interesting now, it's sort of beautiful in a way, but part of me hopes that something, someone, comes to save atlas
Your voice is pretty hot for a traveller
Thanks! Most people just think it’s AI generated. Lol
Damm, nice voice!
Hey! Thanks!
Do you realize ( probably you do ) that defining no man's sky result in fixing it as one rather than an unformulated open range of possibilities

I can’t tell if your voice is AI
Haha. Thank you? It’s not, but I’ve thought about using one of those AI voice apps to automate my voiceovers using my own voice as a reference. That’d make everything so much easier.
