After she says, “I’m out of breath” Durante immediately says, “I’ll take your lines”. Ever the professional and thoughtful trooper. She died that night in her sleep of a massive heart attack. It’s believed she had one on stage there. They say he was the kindest man in show business. Ethel Merman said in a late in her life interview that he’d help out ANYONE he thought was in need. Big stars to stage hands. Not loans. Gifts. A very generous and thoughtful man. Who knew. Goodnight Carmen, and Goodnight Mr. Durante, where ever you are.
Patrick Hamilton she was actually found in the hallway between her bathroom and her bedroom, poor thing. It is highly likely she had a heart attack here
It wasn't during her sleep. She was found dead in a short hall at the second floor of her house, apparently after removing her make up and lit a cigarette. Anyway... such a young, brilliant and bright star.
Bless her heart . . she suffered so much, working so hard, taking pills to get up, sleep, then electroshock therapy for her depression. Still a trooper until the end . .with that FAMOUS SMILE . . May she never be forgotten . . .RIP Carmen!
24:05 suffers her first heart attack, she would be gone less than twelve hours later from a second. How brave and determined Ms. Miranda was to carry on with the show. That is a true star.
Definitely one of the first signs of a heart attack, out of breath. Breaks my heart knowing this was her last performance. I loved when they put her in bugs bunny cartoons, so wonderful to watch.
23:49 As soon as Jimmy starts dancing with her, she leans heavily on him. She must have said something to him, because he abruptly tells them to stop the music. Then she drops to one knee, and he covers for her by making a joke about his back hurting.
After she went to her knee you can see by her abdomen that she was laboring in breath. At 24: 47 she makes a brief gesture towards the middle of her chest. She was dying and didn't know it but the show had to go on..Carmen.
I have had three heart attacks. One was where I ran out of breath and had to sit down. I feel so sorry for her because little was known about all of the symptoms of a heart attack. Most people imagine the stereotype of someone clutching their chest in agony. While that scenario can be true, women especially can have completely different symptoms than men and they don’t realize that they are in serious trouble because women and men can have milder symptoms and still be having a heart attack.
at 23:57...you see her move her hand from Durrante's shoulder to her hat..and when the music stops she drops to one knee at 24:05.. ( her first heart attack ) and she mentions she is out of breath.
She may have been feeling dizzy when she moved her hand to her hat like that and had a very minor heart attack when she went to one knee...she must have wondered what the hell is going on with me I feel awful...and within a few hours she was dead...rip carmen...always liked the name carmen...
24:02 is when she falls- Durante sees she's in trouble and shouts "Stop the Music-STOP the music" and then I'll take your lines and he sets up a change in the act- all spontaneous and it looks natural.
I don't see any signs of fatigue during their dance. I can imagine she actually told him while dancing, like: Stop, I can't do it anymore... or such... just guessing...
In the clearer not so grainy version of the clip where she falls to her knees, you can see in her facial expression that "she knew" something was terribly wrong, but snaps right back into character. "on with the show" rings true in that moment in her life. May she rest in peace.
Durante's show was on film by this time, and Carmen passed away only hours after the filming. They played the show after her death. You can see her almost lose it during the dance sequence, but recovered and finished the show with a big smile like the trouper she was.
Amazing ad lib by Durante. Pulls everyone up to the front and does Miranda's lines. All the while she smiles and sings while having a heart attack. Incredible.
Many thanks for this entire show! Carmen is one of my favorite leading ladies of Hollywood's golden age! I was born a generation too late to have enjoyed her in person, but grateful to enjoy her now. Though she sadly left us too soon, aren't we lucky to still have her through her great films and music? I think she is one of the earliest single entertainers who new how to use a stage to make her singing performances so memorable. Hips, Hands and Hats - love that Carmen.. and Jimmy Durante, too!
To me (and I mean this sincerely), Carmen completing the filming of that segment was a tremendous athletic accomplishment and could be considered a more remarkable feat than Willis Reed coming onto the court with a bum thigh in Game 7 of the '70 NBA Finals and Kerri Strug sticking her vault on a bad ankle in the '96 Olympics...And what makes Carmen's performance even more amazing is that she was smiling ear-to-ear right to the end of the episode.
andycloses, Exactly! No hint at all of any physical discomforts, because there weren't any. Her own personal physician testified, after her untimely death, that her health was "perfect".
Thanks for this Gustavo---my Italian American family was proud of Durante but didn't know he was close to Carmen Miranda--she was so full of life and went so fast---like a shooting star.
Mr. Lopes: Thank you for your kindness in sharing this presentation. I am sure there will be many more thanks for your contribution. This big born-again Carmen Miranda fan will be forever grateful . In closing, all of us need to remember that we pay for the decisions we make. And Carmen is/was no exception. CARMEN MIRANDA FOREVER!
It is also Amazing that Mr. Jimmy Durante, while dancing with her, could tell that something was Wrong & Improvised buy stopping the set & played it off in order to give her a rest. They don't make them like that anymore !!!
Durante first thought she had tripped, and tried to help her out. He then realized something was wrong and quickly improvised to stop the music so he could assess the situation. He tried to cover for her but Carmen was adamant in continuing.
She was my favorite entertainer, and I'll always remember her.She was one of a kind, and a real trooper. A wonderful icon of Portugal and Brazil. R.I.P.
Thank you for posting this poignant treasure. She is one of the golden greats that seems to shine brighter with the passing of the years. Her performance here is marvelous!
Carmen Miranda was a real trouper for going on with the show instead of going to the hospital, where they might have been able to save her life....But remember this was 1955 when heart technology was not so advanced. R.I.P. Carmen Miranda Even 61 years after your death you will always be remembered as a real trouper. This was an excellent show......It is very sad that the show resulted in her death early the following morning. And......remember.....Good Night Mrs. Calabash where ever you are !
Michael Friedman, Carmen Miranda's personal physician, Dr. Maximer, testified that Miss Miranda had (no) health issues, that her health was "perfect". So, go to the hospital for what?
Sadly most conventional heart attack symptoms don't even occur in women too. They have an entirely different set of symptoms than men experience. She probably never knew she was experiencing a heart attack.
What a great show. What great entertainers. Some of us were fortunate enough to have lived at the same time that these entertainers were here. Nothing like them today. Thanks for posting. Did not realize that her last show was with Jimmy.
You can see that she is in pain, and feeling unwell. There are plenty of clues. They carry her onto the set. She almost falls over twice, and the professionalism of the supporting entertainers, not least Jimmy Durante, cover it. She sits down or leans on things whenever she can. She even clutches her chest and says she's out of breath after a short dance. She is being supported or having her hand held for most of the shots, and doesn't sing with her full voice. But, 'The Show Must Go On' prevails. A trouper to the very end of her short life.
This reminds me of how Jackie Wilson fell into his fatal heart attack and coma singing "Lonely Teardrops". Performers perform and Carmen Miranda was an old school performer, the kind that persevered through it all. As sad and tragic as it is, how much of a boss do you have to be to suffer through a heart attack and still finish your set? Ultimate respect to Miss Carmen. Can't imagine any performer today doing the same thing.
You can't beat these old time entertainers even though Carmen Felt something was wrong she still believe the show must go on.God bless her and RIP Carmen you left us too soon but you will not be forgotten as long as old time movies are still played.
A heart attack in a woman often is different than it is for a man. Women generally experience different symptoms. In Carmen Miranda’s case she suddenly became out of breath. She apparently had no chest pain or other classic symptoms. Nonetheless she was in crisis and the damage being done to her heart was irreversible. I suffered a serious heart attack and was taken to hospital. The doctors thought I was not having a heart attack. I knew different. I was in pain. I was admitted around 10:00 am on a Monday. I wasn’t taken into the procedure room for a heart cath until 10:00 pm Tuesday. My left ventricle was damaged. The circumflex artery was blocked. This artery has a history of masking symptoms that mislead doctors into a wrong diagnosis which is what happened to me. Now I get out of breath doing the smallest task. I experience frequent pain in my left arm. I’ve gained weight. My kidneys are affected. Bottom line, a heart attack is very serious.
Goodness, would anyone in 1955, even a doctor, have known Carmen was having a heart attack and not just an attack of nausea? Today we know that women's heart attacks present differently than men's, and that one of the symptoms for women is nausea. I recently saw a fan-shot clip of David Bowie having the heart attack onstage during his last concert in 2004 that ended his touring days, and watching this clip gave me the same sad feelings. At least he had his assistant Coco Schwab who saw he wasn't right and took him to the hospital and he lived another 10 years. He thought it was a pinched nerve!
She Died Like A Real Trooper. She Suffered a HEART ATTACK & Kept on Smiling! When I was growing up I Loved Seeing Her Movies, They Always Put a Smile on My Face. Sure, now a days they are considered campy but they were Great ! She went through a Lot of Criticism About Being Too Americanized & not a correct representation of Brazil, Argentina & Cuba. I'm from Puerto Rico & To Me She Was An Amazing Representative of Latin American Beauty, Heart & Talent. GOD BLESS YOU & May This Classy Lady R.I.P.
I used to watch this show as a kid. Was always intrigued by Jimmy’s signature sign-off “And good night Mrs. Calabash wherever you are”. Too bad about Carmen Maranda dying so young. She gave her final performance all her talent and energy not realizing how close she was to the end of her life.
in 28:47 in this video, it was the moment when she got her first stroke (she couldn't even breath very well), according to specialists, not only because of fatigue. During a brief pause, Durante staff asked if she would like to stop, and they would continue with another substitute but she refused.
@@plawson8577 the amphetamines that the studios forced on their stars did a LOT more damage to their hearts even than smoking did. Dancing would have helped her heart, but the smoking and especially the amphetamines were bound to have caused damage to her heart. google "amphetamines linked to heart attacks" and the like.
After the last take, Miranda and Durante gave an impromptu performance on the set for the cast and technicians. The singer took several cast members and some friends home with her for a small party. She went upstairs to bed at about 3 a.m. Miranda undressed, placed her platform shoes in a corner, lit a cigarette, placed it in an ashtray and went into her bathroom to remove her makeup. She apparently came from the bathroom with a small, round mirror in her hand; in the hall which led to her bedroom, she collapsed with a fatal heart attack. Miranda was 46 years old. Her body was found at about 10:30 a.m. lying in the hallway.
So True. It's Ironic that the company that sponsored this program was a cigarette company. Smoking was "in style" back then & they did not know the repercussions that it would have. Carmen Miranda smoked, drank & had used amphetamines & barbiturates after her miscarriage. This a Sad Loss of Such a Sweat Lady.
Let us not forget that the men who ran the studios also forced amphetamines on many (all?) of their female stars (perhaps male, too), in order to maximise their profits by giving them impossible schedules. Lorna Luft's book about her mother, Judy Garland, is one book that gives some excellent info.
I must have watched that bit where she almost faints several dozen times but just now I caught something that is easy to miss but once you see it, you can't unsee it; Right as she's going down, you can see her briefly making a sort of panicked, desperate fluttery gesture with her left hand at Durante's hand as if saying "Omg, something terrible is happening!" but almost instantaneously recovers. It changes the whole thing for me. If it was a controlled and graceful dip at first, it has now become a panicked and desperate clinging onto Durante and her life. Also, nobody has mentioned this but it's pretty alarming just how slurred her speech is when she says she's out of breath. It's so slurred that it sounds as if she's drunk. Her heart attack could have started as early as 23:25 when she begins to look unsteady and sways to the side pretty significantly. After that, her smile looks strained and when she launches into that solo dance, there is no smile on her face at all which is extremely not her style. I don't think she's ever appeared on screen looking bored or tired unless she was doing lines that called for that. She is dancing here and she clearly has an expression of seriousness. I believe she began to feel faint and knew she would go down so she calls out to Durante @ 23:51 to join her, something I believe wasn't in the script but she was trying her best to cover up the way she was feeling. Miranda and Durante launch into that hectic dance together and she is clearly using his body as support as his dips look as if there's considerable resistance by which time he gets the hint. I believe it's at this point that she is having a full-blown heart attack, precisely as she makes that desperate, fluttery/slappy left-hand gesture @ 24:05 on Durante's hand as she goes down which I still think looks more like a reflex and was possibly an involuntary reflection of how her heart was beating which, in a heart attack, is usually in a panicked quiver as the heart muscle pleads for oxygen. Her heart was likely damaged due to the lack of oxygen-rich blood causing her to go down. Maybe it was by the grace of God or her own sheer will to not let her public down and make the show go on that she literally bounces back and goes on. @ 24:17 she is looking at Durante with her mouth gaping open in a very joyful manner which is likely a cover for being so out of breath due to her heart attack, she is gasping for air which is confirmed when she speaks and sounds alarmingly drunk. I think she was literally dying, her light was extinguishing at that precise moment and that is reflected in her slurred speech. By 25:32, her heart attack has inflicted its damage and she's still gasping as the number ends. Her smile is still remarkably convincing even though it continues to be somewhat strained. I think it's because her eyes are smiling, which is part of the magic of Carmen Miranda; those expressive, animated, and very joyful eyes. I cried when she does her final farewell @ 26:19 because her overall demeanor is down a notch and that would literally be her goodbye to the world as death awaited her early the next day. RIP Carmen Miranda. EDIT: A crystal clear version of the moments leading up to her heart attack can be seen here: th-cam.com/video/Su8bTYUx-eg/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=35
I don't know if you've seen it, but there are some images taken from the camera that was shooting in close up. In the very moment that she fainted, her eyes rolled back and she looked terrible. If she was not having the heart attack itself, she was at least suffering from a strong arrhythmia or something else that preceded the final event. The shot was not used in the final edition, because it was not a good image to see, but some Brazilian magazines somehow got access to the frames and published it. If you want, I may try to find the image.
These "Modern Divas" could learn a thing or two from such Great artists like Carmen Miranda & Jackie Wilson. They did what they did, so you can do what you do. May they R.I.P.
Most likely she did not even know she had a heart attack, that's what's so scary about it. You never know when that pain you are having is the sign of something worse or just a temporary issue.
WE had a family friend who suffered a fatal heart attack...in the lead up to it she merely thought she was just under the weather, cold, flu, that type of deal. Wasn't an emergency til several hours later. Silent killer. When we discovered she was a cat lady hoarder and live in squalor, her living conditions and probably poor mental health in her own abode, that contributed to her death.
Anyone notice that she was barefoot dancing? Wonder if that had anything to do with her not feeling well as she always wore those wonderful high platform shoes.
Iv had a heart attack & when she patted her chest & slurred her words. I totally understand that feeling. It’s awful, because it’s out of your control. I’m amazed she finished the show, what a trooper.
I wish she was still here, but many of the "Old School" performers would have it no other way. To them "THE SHOW MUST GO ON !" It's their mindset, if not, she would have stopped but she kept on going. But your right. I could have phrased it differently.
Just hearing of this wonderful lady after watching ‘what’s my line’ and another guest on the show lead me to looking into her and doing some research… she was indeed strong and loved to perform. RIP lovely!
Yes I agree, with you MrEdium. It is so frustrating to see that such a talented woman die so young and she was trying so hard to lose that gimmick and wanted to be taken seriously. She was an incredible performer.
***** ~> In between Carmen Miranda and Charo Xavier Cugat had Abbe Lane. Each of those 3 ladies were great in a unique different way. Neither Charo nor Abbe even tried to imitate Carmen. Each of the 3 ladies did her own thing and quite well. ☺.

@@edtidei9583 Well, think in terms of the American ignorance of culture; no differentiated between Spanish and Portuguese. A Mexican, Brazilian and an Argentine, in the American mind was all the same.
@@dangelo1369 This is not so at all. Nationalities are very distinct on the American continent and in the American mind. This was, I think, a joke, which is why it's hard to get. I will add that 'Jimmy' did not 'always' speak to Carmen Miranda in Spanish. Just watch the skit. There are perhaps a dozen words total, if that many.
@@badhairdye Really? During the era that CM flourished in, the American policy was to curry good favor with South American countries. That went along with the musicals that portrayed South American as no different than one another. Carmen Miranda's head gear was seen as a "Tutti Fruti hat" instead of the Bahaina head dress that was African in origin. But to an American audience who couldn't tell a Brazilian from an Argentine from a Uruguayan, it didn't matter. That's why Cesar Romero (Argentinian from Bklyn) couldn't be distinguished from Anthony Quinn (Mexican) Even CM' caught hell from Brazilians who thought she "sold out" and became Americanized (she made a song about it) From Mexico to Peru, the average American couldn't discern one culture from the other and still can't. www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1999-11-26-9911260052-story.html
This is where she had here great attack (24:06). She still carried on A trooper. I'm watching The Girl From Rio (a documentary about her), and it's getting me a little annoyed because there trying to make it that - as an adult woman - one who they make VERY clear was VERY in control of her image, etc, was... 'taken advantage of'. They say that after the war, (29th Century) Fox didn't know what to do with her. Well, that's life. I don't mean to sound cruel, but many actors (Garbo, Dietrich are just 2 examples) of actors who were also foreign born, and like Ms Miranda were also very in control. It's very sad that Ms Miranda didn't stop, but that was HER decision. Being an adult means taking responsibility for infra actions - good AND bad,, and, she knew something wasn't right, but that was HER call.
What's so "great" about it you pompous ass and making yourself sound like the voice of reason while talking to children. HER Choice, bla fkn bla Hard Ass. How you'll reap the benefits of projecting your attitude unto thyself. We're appreciating Carmen while you're throwing her the bus. How shall you'll be judged by your own bad habits? You likely go from site to site getting your daily ration of attention seeking & ego boosting.
She died so soon! Imagine if she lived until the 80s 90s! She would certainly be one of the biggest honorees at the Grammy, Hollywood music and cinema awards in the USA, even though she died in 1955, her art still remains very much alive in various parts of the world.
So sad 😢 She was an awesome entertainer and always gave it all she had . This was the same year the president of the US ( Dwight Eisenhower ) had a mild heart attack
This was the 1957 CBS summer series for Old Gold [Saturdays, 8pm(et), replacing half of "THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW"], featuring repeats of 13 filmed episodes from Durante's NBC "TEXACO STAR THEATER" series.....including this episode.
First : I remember when I was a kid , watching Bugs Bunny dressed as Carmen Miranda , but I did not know who she was then . 2. At the end , he is doing almost the same "Good bye" part that "Mr. Rogers" did yrs later !!
This is great!! RIP Carmen Miranda. Interesting to see those cigarette commercials too. It was so natural and socially accepted back then :( Thank God we stopped the tobacco industry. I wonder how many of these old stars died from diseases related to tobacco smoking. ??
Luis Natal so tell me why then is no one trying to get alcohol commercials off the air like cigarettes. alcohol related deaths including drunk drivers who kill the innocent far out weigh the deaths of cigarettes., yet we are bombarded with commercials on how drinking is fun, i just don't get it...
Drinking in moderation is not a problem. Smoking in moderation still causes lung cancer.

Americans killed Carmen (like they did with Marilyn Monroe and others). This show is a mess. Her exit at the end was beautiful as always, though, and singing "Delicado" she says "Eu vou pra minha terra, para o meu lugar"... A goodbye. So emotional...
Dancing/ performing without her famous platform shoes did already mean she wasn't well? Jimmy still asked her backstage whether she would rather stop and go to rest, and she refused. The show must go on for Carmen and cost her life.

She should've gone right to the hospital after the show.
That was the first heart attack. Another one during the overnight claimed her life.
After the show, she went home and sang and danced for her family. She was a show woman till the end.
Carmen truly came from that era that the show must go on, rest in peace miss Miranda.
In the clearer not so grainy version of the clip where she falls to her knees, you can see in her facial expression that "she knew" something was terribly wrong, but snaps right back into character. "on with the show" rings true in that moment in her life. May she rest in peace.
and even after she knew something was terribly wrong, she played the rest of her performance to perfection!
Awesome show! To think that she suffered a heart attack during that show and died the next day it is so sad...God bless her!
Durante's show was on film by this time, and Carmen passed away only hours after the filming. They played the show after her death. You can see her almost lose it during the dance sequence, but recovered and finished the show with a big smile like the trouper she was.
She was indeed a trooper. Trooper.
I just saw the documentary where you see thousands in Brazil mourning her, and one woman wailing. If she was a star here, she was a goddess in Brazil.
That moment when she does fall on her knees. God that was so hard to see. She was a gem.
She sure was
I wouldn’t have noticed if it wasn’t reported
I would’ve thought it was apart of the routine
Here in 2020. I only realized today that when I watched her movies as a child.. she'd already passed away. RIP..she worked hard.
To me (and I mean this sincerely), Carmen completing the filming of that segment was a tremendous athletic accomplishment and could be considered a more remarkable feat than Willis Reed coming onto the court with a bum thigh in Game 7 of the '70 NBA Finals and Kerri Strug sticking her vault on a bad ankle in the '96 Olympics...And what makes Carmen's performance even more amazing is that she was smiling ear-to-ear right to the end of the episode.
courage, professionalism to the end.
God bless her heart
Yeah she died of a heart attack !
andycloses,
Exactly! No hint at all of any physical discomforts, because there weren't any. Her own personal physician testified, after her untimely death, that her health was "perfect".
Lars Jönlid,
Apparently so...that is the official cause at any rate.

CARMEN MIRANDA FOREVER!
that darling woman kept on going despite her pain, i bet she knew she was very ill and was on her way out. God Bless you Carmen!
weird watching this. she was literally dying.
As a brazilian I became moved watching her in her last presentation.. Good night sweet Carmem fare thee well.
Brazil only...
I think that @MrCakewalker putted it that way because Carmen Miranda was born in Portugal, in Marco de Canaveses.
Thank you for posting this poignant treasure. She is one of the golden greats that seems to shine brighter with the passing of the years. Her performance here is marvelous!
Carmen Miranda was a real trouper for going on with the show instead of
going to the hospital, where they might have been able to save her life....But
remember this was 1955 when heart technology was not so advanced.
R.I.P. Carmen Miranda Even 61 years after your death you will always be
remembered as a real trouper.
This was an excellent show......It is very sad that the show resulted in her death early
the following morning. And......remember.....Good Night Mrs. Calabash where ever you are !
Michael Friedman,
Carmen Miranda's personal physician, Dr.
Let's see smoking, booze, drugs, and more booze.........yikes, no wonder...the dancing saved her life for a while

What a great show. What great entertainers. Some of us were fortunate enough to have lived at the same time that these entertainers were here. Nothing like them today. Thanks for posting. Did not realize that her last show was with Jimmy.
makes me wonder if she was in pain during the entire set but ignored it.
I was wondering that too
Carmen died doing what she liked most.Orgulho do 🇧🇷
You can see that she is in pain, and feeling unwell.
A Ray of Sunshine , Such a Beautiful Woman inside and out , look at that smile and those eyes. Rest in Peace 🙏🙏🙏
First addressing Old Gold Ciarettes Ad: How many died from this " Gold"...I will never forget Carmen Miranda. She was one of a kind.
I hope you are feeling better each day! Glad you made the doc listen to you.. My mother went through the same as you... Best of health to u!
What is Hollywood history without Carmen Miranda?
Hurts me every time I see it. What a consummate professional.
I agree. It was heart breaking

So sad, she was such a talented beauty. She actually had a heart attack during this dance, kept performing and died hours later in hospital 😢
Thank you. There's too much misinformation on the internet.
Yes,She was wonderful ....
You sir are 100 percent Right !
Wonderful explanation! Thank you very much. Gustavo, I’d love to see this image. Poor thing! She was amazing and genial! 😭

Most likely she did not even know she had a heart attack, that's what's so scary about it. You never know when that pain you are having is the sign of something worse or just a temporary issue.
So true
WE had a family friend who suffered a fatal heart attack...in the lead up to it she merely thought she was just under the weather, cold, flu, that type of deal. Wasn't an emergency til several hours later. Silent killer.
When we discovered she was a cat lady hoarder and live in squalor, her living conditions and probably poor mental health in her own abode, that contributed to her death.
Anyone notice that she was barefoot dancing? Wonder if that had anything to do with her not feeling well as she always wore those wonderful high platform shoes.
sad her heart was weakened by smoking among other things. and the add is for smokes

Tragic, I allways liked her, and her music !!
I agree with Mr. Pippin. Carmen was a real woman. That's one of her characteristics that made her the greatest of all time in my book.

I wish she was still here, but many of the "Old School" performers would have it no other way. To them "THE SHOW MUST GO ON !" It's their mindset, if not, she would have stopped but she kept on going. But your right. I could have phrased it differently.

Carmen spoke Portuguese why does Jimmy always speak to her in Spanish?
What an asshole!
That's why Cesar Romero (Argentinian from Bklyn) couldn't be distinguished from Anthony Quinn (Mexican)
Even CM' caught hell from Brazilians who thought she "sold out" and became Americanized (she made a song about it)
From Mexico to Peru, the average American couldn't discern one culture from the other and still can't.

A trooper.
