But this is a show for disadvantaged children and I absolutely will not be annoyed if children want to clap during the show. Anyway, Diana is impossibly talented and I think she has the most beautiful voice in the world. Oh, that "reverb effect" is not electronic. She sings with polyphonic overtones.

Акапелла она обычно исполняет один куплет.Из её интервью-она не может исполнять эту песню целиком,очень много сил на это уходит,не успеет восстановиться.Полностью исполняет только на небольших концертах (3-4 песни).

That yodel of hers never gets old. She is an expert at yodeling (not surprising for an eastern singer), but she does things with her break that other singers would shy away from. Helps that it is very low, too. I guess it's a combination of her unique timbre and how she very intentionally leans right through her break. The descending glissando is a very Slavic way of singing and I wish she utilized it more because it's unusual to hear someone to so deliberately move down like that. Good catch on the microtones. Her sound production is physiologically interesting coming from a (neuro)linguistics angle. I highly suspect she has what is called a High Arched Palate. ENTs and Neurologists look for it when assessing certain kinds of NMDs. It's a common feature in the medically defined body type Marfanoid Habitus. This isn't based so much on her singing as it is on her speaking voice in interviews. Consequently, if I'm right that smokey quality to her voice isn't because it's breathy so much as there is a large amount of space where her hard palate would normally be (because it is more like a high vaulted ceiling). Can also produce nasality that isn't really nasal. Some people with high arched palate have to get speech therapy due to how it can distort consonant and vowel sounds.
Diana is defining the line between simply singing a song and performing one through storytelling,anew. It's the difference between a piece of music and a piece of art. Latter is so much more than a great voice, and she is truly an artist.
At the moment, at her solo concerts, Diana performs her song a cappella. And in this performance there are no unnecessary sounds at all, only Diana. And as for the claps, imagine that it's the sound of rain in the forest.
I enjoy the analysis explaining the intricacies that the untrained (me) doesn't pick up on.. Its good to learn.... Personally, Ive usually seen the said video a billion times before I watch say... your reaction. So I don't care if the video is blurred nor do I care that you play it through without stopping.. I will explain to you the meaning of this old Russian song that was sung during the wedding. Since a much shortened version was made for the scene, not even all Russian people understand its meaning. An orphan girl from a foster family is married off (most likely, to a man older than her and not of her own free will). She comes to the river (reka), affectionately calling it rechenka. The river in the folklore of many peoples is the border between the world of the living and the dead. She turns to her deceased parents: she asks for advice and blessings. An orphan girl is faced with a choice - to drown herself, committing the sin of suicide, or still accept the circumstances and "go with the flow". What will she choose? This is decided by the audience together with the performer of this song.

Yes and we know why....the first ever Russia the Voice judges couldn't decide when she did her brilliant Yodelling performance at just about 13 ... The kid put on a sparkling full multi lingual performance singing and moving round the whole stage ... Watch it and her repost when they .... well just see its called yodel time..if i can find the full original you can join all the rest of us synics.😉 A few months later she did her first future Diana performance of Denier Dance still at 13 on this show where they vote on the whole performance. Your also watching a Russian audience and maybe theres a bit of cultural influence in their approach. This now 18 yr old has a unique instrument shes still developing her skills but shes also a grafter. I will explain to you the meaning of this old Russian song that was sung during the wedding. Since a much shortened version was made for the scene, not even all Russian people understand its meaning. An orphan girl from a foster family is married off (most likely, to a man older than her and not of her own free will). She comes to the river (reka), affectionately calling it rechenka. The river in the folklore of many peoples is the border between the world of the living and the dead. She turns to her deceased parents: she asks for advice and blessings. An orphan girl is faced with a choice - to drown herself, committing the sin of suicide, or still accept the circumstances and "go with the flow". What will she choose? This is decided by the audience together with the performer of this song.

The song rechenka or little river, is a Russian folk song, even before Christianity, that an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about the fact that my mother, father and brothers were killed by the enemies, there is no one to take care of her.
