Apparently the Word on Fire bible from Bishop Barron's ministry has readings from the Patristics that are side by side the scriptural readings. I was thinking about getting it. They are just about to put out part four.
As far as I can tell the book is still in print. I am kind of interested in it, but right now I am heavily investing in the big patristic series books. Ancient Christian Texts, Ancient Christian Writers, The Fathers of the Church and the three series in public domain, Ante Nicene and Post Nicnene fathers put together by protestants in the late 19th Century. I used to be a comic book collector but have finally shed that vice and now most of my disposable income goes into building my Christian Library. Keep up the good work you've been filling the void left by R Grant Jones who seems to be on hiatus for the forseeable future.
@@ConvincedCatholicism Truth is a good thing, especially if it makes one uncomfortable. To do something about it, I ordered the book and for only a few bucks more got the hardcover. Glad you gave me a nudge.
I was also considering getting the Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church which has the writings of the referenced Church Fathers, saints, and documents. I do wish that they would come up with a complimentary Church Fathers companion to the three year and/or two year cycle of Mass readings for those who wish to use it. I wonder if the two year office of readings would be like that but I don't know how to access it.

Those volumes are a great option too
I have a small book that has a short daily insight from St Augustine and have benefited greatly from his timeless wisdom.
Glad you are able to benefit from that

All sound like great editions
I like the Church Fathers! Another good resource, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the video
What you said about reading the Church Fathers hits a little too close to home. Thank you for the review.
Sorry about that! Thanks for watching

To be fair, readings from Augustine seem to be about half of the traditional Benedictine Matins readings.
I guess the Western Church only had access to him for most of its lifespan
I was gonna suggest you review this but bam of course you already did.
I think this book is a nice little treat

That would be great
Great video. I use the Office with a chapter of The Imitation of Christ and it works well. I could add other reading or lessons.
Thanks for watching. That is a great routine
