So nice to see you covering this! The dev (Toge Productions) is one of the most prominent game dev from my country and has been around for more than a decade (an achievement in itself, we don’t have that many game dev here). They’ve been producing hit games lately and hopefully, they’ll smash it again with this one!
For those who aren’t aware, that country is Indonesia. I’m originally from Malaysia and am impressed by the indie work of our neighbors. Malaysian game devs have yet to achieve international awareness in the same way.
I need to try out the demo for this one. 'Mechs in the jungle' reminds me of MSG: The 08th MS Team. Even if I didn't love that show as much as everyone else, it's definitely a cool vibe. Of course, the jungle setting may also be because the developers are in Indonesia. But that just makes it better, I love it when people bring their own own cultures and perspectives to the games they make.
One of these days we'll find out Mortismal has a whole basement of illegal workers chained up and forced to 100% games so he can keep up the insane video schedule
Day 1 of finally playing Wrath of the Righteous: as you mentioned, I was very intimidated by the character creator. However I decided to follow your advice and not bite off more than I could chew, so I stuck to normal difficulty and let my allies auto-level whilst I focus on building my character only. I thought I’d be too scared of the combat and just use turn-based, but thankfully it hasn’t been too overwhelming. I feel like 50% of me knows what I’m doing whilst I have no idea about the other 50% going on. Exploring the Maze was great though, felt like a traditional D&D dungeon and I felt smart for solving the portrait colour puzzle. Really liked the twist at the end though, and it locked me into my evil path as I like the character interactions and reactivity so much! I figured I’d know in the first 5 hours if I was going to drop the game or not, but I’m 100% sold! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll keep you updated if you’re curious!
I was playing on custom difficulty with many Classic combat options and, in the just the first chapter, was struggling with some of the demons in the city (including the one in a building that casts Fireball, as soon as you enter). Having been accustomed to BG1 and BG2, the difficulty spike was a significant adjustment. Also, I have come to really loathe hoard-based enemies like insect swarms and rats. They’re pretty annoying when your party is low level. I had to set the game aside because of real life responsibilities but hope to get back to it when I have an extended chunk of time. It’s the sort of game that requires a steady commitment, which is hard for working adults.
5:30. There are potentially a few ways the devs could balance out explosive damage- e.g. reducing it if in heavy cover in the forest, including character perks that could decrease AOE damage taken, and including electronic countermeasures or anti-ballistic systems (e.g. small guns or lasers that shoot down incoming missiles) a la Battletech.
Thanks for the video. The line of sight looks pretty neat. I really hope it has the line, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning." Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
PLEASE try out Libary of Ruina! It's a game I think you'd really like. It's a turn based card game with an exstreamly challenging and unquie combat system. The combat allows for a lot of skill expression and fun combo's to play around with. The story unrionically changed me as a person. The world building and characters are some of the best, not even in just video games, but any media I have seen. PLEASE! I really hope you play this game, I'd love if you'd cover it, but just playing it is good enough for me. Just exsperiance this emotional roller coaster that brings you over the sky and down to hell. The first three chapters are exstreamly easy, but the difficulty spike is in fact vertical. The game is also 80 hours long, which I know is a lot, but again it's all worth it. I have been watching you for two years at this point. I love that your down to earth and a chill guy. From all the videos Ive watched, I know you'll like this game. I'm begging you to try it out.
If you found this interesting you should definitely check out Phantom Brigade. Same overworld setup with mech focused tactical battles, though using a wego system instead of pure turn based.
Hoping for a review of USC: Counterforce, it just released. Aliens the Indie TRPG is what it seems to be going for. Though we got an officially licensed one recently.
Looks interesting. Unrelated to that, is Nobody Wants to Die on your radar? It looks like a fascinating narrative game that's part cyberpunk, part mystery/noir, and it looks like a real "choices matter" kind of game you might like.
This reminds me of Into the Breach. That was a surprisingly good game. It's one of these tactics games with mechas. But it's more of a puzzler, really. Everything is deterministic and you know in advance what the enemies are going to do and in what order. Really fun game and makes you feel very smart when you pull it off.
For some reason I found mechs-centric games unappealing, while I love mech units mixed with other more normal-sized stuff (C&C, 40k, xcom...). I think it's because when everything is giant, nothing is

oh I remember playing necronator on new grounds, great that they're still around
Yo, it's indie Front Mission!

So...interns?
😂 nawww he a hard working family man but TH-cam you never know @@varnan12
or cheats (and Ch-Engine)
cause I also use some of them for life quality like speedhacks for a lot of walking
Bro 😂😂😂
"Illegal workers chained up"
You know, there's a word for that 😂
This came up on my radar about 2hours before this video came out. I'm intrigued, I love the Front Mission games.
“Kriegsfront Tactic. A tactics game if you can believe it “
Me: I can’t believe it!
What would have been incredible is if they made the game non tactical
Believe it

Interesting. For some reason, this gives me strong Ring of Red vibes. (Wonder why they never made a sequel of that game, it rocked).
Mech and tactics? sign me the fuck up. Pretty hyped for this title now since I'm a huge fan of the front mission games
as someone who's picked up battletech again in the past week for the 50th time, so looking forward to this
I hate to say it but I kickstarted that, played the tutorial and never got around to continuing. I need to before I try this.
@@derekgonsoulin116there are some amazing mod for battletech, check bta3062
Looks a lot like Front Mission.
so, basically, it's a modern indie spin on an oldschool front mission game? count me in!
This looks cool Morti. Thanks for sharing!
Really enjoyed the demo, was not aware of this newer prologue. Thanks for the heads up ✌
Thanks for the video. The line of sight looks pretty neat. I really hope it has the line, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning." Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
So finally we have something trying to take up the mantle of front mission, i must be dreaming
Looks awesome. Indie teams always blessing us with some top tier trpgs.
Reminds me of Phantom Brigade, in a lot of ways.

I'm very much looking forward to this game!
The first person view for aimed shots looks like a really cool mechanic, it might sell me on it.
great new series, i love your indie recommendation
Looks cool definitely going to keep an eye on this one!

Its on my list
Looks pretty neat, love the retro ps2 chunk
Indi Front Mission, very cool.

Are you planning on taking a look at the Jeanne D'Arc remaster or port? Not entirely sure what it is.
No plans
Oh man, this one looks good. Sort of like Wartales but mechs.
Ah you tease. I thought the game was out already! I've been looking forward to this one for a while
Any dev notes or insight on if/when they plan to make this deck compatible? Perfect play for handheld.
The overworld map reminds me of mount and blade
Kinda looks like a mix of Wartales, Front Mission, and Valkyria Chronicles.
have my eye on this one since I stumbled upon it, I hope it turns out great
Really cool indie game!
Good show sir
I really prefer turn based games. I like games that allows me to think and try different approaches like BG3.
Reminds me of Front Mission.
Ironically enough I'm currently writing a mecha short story set in a swampy jungle.
...or at least I'm trying to. This one just ain't flowing for me.
Finally. Getting tired of replaying Battletech for half a decade.
Looks interesting. Unrelated to that, is Nobody Wants to Die on your radar? It looks like a fascinating narrative game that's part cyberpunk, part mystery/noir, and it looks like a real "choices matter" kind of game you might like.
it made me think to phantom brigade, without the cinematic mechanics
this looks great
Strongly reminds me of Mech Commander (a good thing).

Mecha TH-cam jazz 🎶
Hm. This makes me want to replay Front Mission 3 and 4.
Interesting.
For some reason I found mechs-centric games unappealing, while I love mech units mixed with other more normal-sized stuff (C&C, 40k, xcom...). I think it's because when everything is giant, nothing is
At this point I start to suspect Mortismal day got 48h in it.
Looks appealing, but I like Battletech so it's just kinda...more of that lol
free comment =)
Looks like battletech-lite. Hope theres more to separate this from that especially considering battletechs mod support
GronK!
Ye
The graphics are just a lil potato for me..
Turn based.. :(

Looks a lot like Front Mission.
