    I was interested to see if anyone else had figured this out. Another tip is dropping a volume pot in the circuit so you have a bit more immediate control without messing with module settings I use mine to mix in live Tom samples on top of my real Tom, and to set off music phrases in other kit voices! Super cool hack mines in a plastic cannabis can and zip tied onto my drum.

      @@FrannBI know nothing about stuff like this at all but I don't think a goofy piezo will damage the drum module. Cause a piezo is not really a part of the module. Same way that if you break your phone screen doesn't mean the whole phone is destroyed you just gotta replace the screen. But I ain't sure

    I'm planning to buy this tabletop drums as my first drum but lot of review says that the pedals are not thst great so instead of spending like 40 bucks on pedals im thinking of just creating my own. But if i dont manage to make them i'd probably just spend 40 bucks lmao

      My biggest fear about this project is the retriggering because it's the literal reason why I'm gonna try and make these, apparently the pedals that comes with the table top I'm gonna buy retriggers so much. And unlike his, I'm making a pedal so idk how to reduce vibration

    Yes it's a simple as that. When was discs weren't widely available in New Zealand. I bought some of those cheap window alarms. Broke them open and got the discs out. But another solution. Is buying one of those plug-in cables. That you plug into a guitar tuner. And you've already got a clip on. 🙂 And also yes it's true. You can tunr drum kit with a guitar tuner. A clip on one. My old drummer. Was perfectly tuned. Just one question please. Are there any pros and cons. About using a small or larger disc? Cheers. Ooooh, I liked that reverse roll, you did on the toms. Very nice

    • @GUSCRAWF0RD
      @GUSCRAWF0RD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can but it essentially reduces the voltage when you wire them up in parallel, you wire them in series but that would come out crazy hot and might pick up high frequency vibrations less effectively and it would be more likely to trigger more than once per hit on your cajon if I had to guess.
      I would recommend one piezo per contact pair. Some inputs might take a trs (2 peiezos wired isolated)
      The more vibratious the medium you attach this to, the more dampening you need under the piezo to “shut down” the physical energy transfer of attack

    Thank you for the video, it's brilliant! I made it myself and it decently works. However, since triggered a ride cymbal, I was wondering if there's anyway to get the bell sound out of it: right now the bell sounds triggers if I hit with a certain force (not by zone); I'm using a Roland TD-3 module and, as per instruction manual, there is nothing related to this. The only way I can think about is placing the trigger close to the bell so that when i hit there the stroke is naturally stronger (and obviously adjusting velocity settings); however (and I don't know if this is a problem of the specific trigger I use or the fact that I'm using a low-volume cymbal, i.e. full of holes), the trigger reacts only if I hit the cymbal not too far from it, so placing the it next to the bell would be a little bit unpractical. Also I taped the trigger on the bottom of the cymbal (for aesthetic reasons), does it make a difference to tape it on the top? Thank you!!
